[Public Access] TCGS #40 | The Wisdom of the Aged

- We invite the interesting, articulate, and 66 year old Peter Benjaminson to the show to help us wrestle with the concept of aging. Along with guest panelist Adam Pally, Peter helps the panel deal with idea of death, regrets, drugs, and many more topics that only get clearer with the wisdom of age. To offset the sometimes heavy conversations we have the incredibly upbeat music of Crazy Pills, a visit from presidential candidate Connor Ratliff, a poem from Phil Jackson, and a return of the increasingly obnoxious Hintmaster (and a surprise visit from one of his friends). A good time, and maybe you'll walk away with a little wisdom.

The Chris Gethard Show is the weirdest (and often times saddest) weekly comedy variety show that streams live on the internet, broadcasts live on Manhattan Public Access, and is available for download as a video podcast. Anything can happen. No cool kids. - Komedie
This is one of my favorite episodes of the show. The guests Peter Benjaminson and the great Adam Pally, phil jackson's poem, vacation jason, Ratliff's Friends video.... might not be the most popular or funniest all time, but this episode has one of the biggest hearts to it.
One of those episodes that I wish were longer.
"But everything makes you feel good, Bethany..."
The heavier discussions in this one are so great I actually wish they'd gone on for longer (although the rest is great too). Last night my wife and I were talking about something totally unrelated and kind of out of nowhere she mentioned that rather than dying in her sleep she thinks the best way to go (all else being equal) would be more like when you're really tired and you just slowly, gently, drift off to sleep. I really liked that. I've almost drowned and I've almost died of carbon monoxide poisoning and both of them were a bit like that (well, the drowning only once it had gone on long enough I'd stopped fighting it, you know?). Neither of us are in any hurry to get there, though.
Hey dude, just stopping by from the future to say I hope you and your wife are still alive.
@@arknark so far so good, thanks for checking in
@@ismathers Hell yeah brother
Amazing episode. Wish it was longer.
It was so funny how everyone was uncomfortable singing the ending song in front of Peter.
This dude is so charismatic.
One hundred percent want to be best friends with Random Melissa.
His advice about being good and how that makes good things come to you is true. Karma is a simplification. It's hard to explain but it's like making an investment in your future. The positive impressions you leave on other people will affect how they treat you and which opportunities are presented to you. I never thought of that as supernatural, but it is effective for improving your quality of life.
I wonder if Random Melissa's leg will ever stop shaking in any of these episodes.
id vote for Ratliff a million times!
But that'd be voter fraud!
That Descendents cover was perfect.
Chris, y'know my fucked up position is I hope I die before my dad. Used to be I was just uncomfortable that I end up responsible for taking care of my mother, but now I've fucked myself up enough I might actually die before that becomes a problem.
