It wasn't at all close. Connor defended like 5 takedowns, knocked him down like 4 times, landed an absurd amount of leg kicks, and got almost 100% of the power shots. Little tap hits in a clinch don't win a fight... and that is why Nate lost... because probably 40% of his hits were tap hits in the clinch on the fence.
I agree that Conor won the fight, but I think Nate put up a really good fight. At the end Nate took him down, if he had 60 more seconds, he would've had him. Conor's ground-game isn't as strong as Nate's in my opinion. I'm ready for 3.

The UFC is the most successful combat sport organization because they give the fans what they want. which includes post fight interviews. Now if Nate was knocked out, then they would have a real reason not to interview him, but like he says hes "good." no reason not to interview him.

My god the immaturity in the comments is ridiculous. Kudos to both fighters for giving us one of the best fights in the UFC. It was neck and neck and Connor won based on the cleaner strikes, but Nate gave him one hell of a long and grueling fight. Nate kept pushing forward despite sustaining accurate strikes from Connor. Connor was getting overwhelmed but played it smart by pacing himself and moving away from Nate to pull himself together and time his shots. It was a close fight, but I am just glad that we as fans witnessed such a spectacle.

It was neck and neck and Connor won based on the cleaner strikes, but Nate gave him one hell of a long and grueling fight. Nate kept pushing forward despite sustaining accurate strikes from Connor. Connor was getting overwhelmed but played it smart by pacing himself and moving away from Nate to pull himself together and time his shots. It was a close fight, but I am just glad that we as fans witnessed such a spectacle.

I actually think the first 2 rounds were 10 - 8 rounds for McGregor. Diaz had a flurry at the end if the second round but there were mostly glancing or missing blows. McGregor was rolling and shifting with the punchings and making him miss a lot.
