There is a mountain of country music that is without question worth listening to, Willie Nelson is one of about seven in the male gender alone. There's also Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams of course, Merle Haggard, and the Sons of the Pioneers, to name a few. All of them are worth hearing. Especially Waylon Jennings, IMHO.
In the 60's and early 70's Willie was a successful Nashville songwriter(Funny How Time Slips Away, Hello Walls, etc). In about 1975 he made his Red Headed Stranger album and started 50 years of performing his own brand of country music.
No woman could ever hate this honestly. Other Willie Nelson songs nobody could dare dislike are ' Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain' and 'Seven Spanish Angels' with Ray Charles.
