Adding Driftwood to Aquariums | New Aquascapes

This video walks through how to add driftwood to aquariums. We recently bought two new pieces of driftwood through our local fish store, and we're excited to show the new aquascapes in two of our aquariums. We purchased these pieces at Aquarium Adventure in Bolingbrook, IL.
The first is smaller piece with plants tied to the driftwood for the 38 gallon aquarium. The second is the new centerpiece of the 75 gallon aquarium in our classroom.

Tanks look great! Heres a tip on driftwood that wont sink you can use small clear zip ties to attach rocks to hold the wood down. Works good and you cant really see them. After it sinks on its own just cut the zip ties off.

Cool store, also in the driftwood tank with the plastic plants pull some of the plastic plant spikes/leaves through the driftwood it will make it look a smidge more natural also I’d try some anubias

Another way to weigh driftwood down is to use smaller rocks in a filter media bag, then drape them over the driftwood like a bean bag.

Soaked for a week. Boiled it. Soaked again. Still got tannin and white fungus. I bought it a store too. Got rid of it. More trouble than I thought. I am too afraid to try again.

There hasn't much of an affect yet, which is likely due to the size of the driftwood in comparison to the tank
