  • Watch the full episode here! Seems like only yesterday-or October of last year-since we last transformed a 1967-1972 C10 in a matter of five short days. But here we are again, this go ’round with a 1971 long-turned-shortbed Chevy that’s just itching to be updated with new suspension, drivetrain, brakes, and steering components, a fresh set of wheels and tires, and some minor interior redecorating between now and Friday.

My dad had a 4x4 C10 back home in theCongo. That thing was a tank.
I remember it being stuck in the mud pulling a big all truck loaded with tree trunks for his brick factory.
The C10 went vroom vroom ...wheels spinning sliding left to right ever so slowly the truck started to move. My jaw dropped.
    The c10 did it

My Dad had a 1970 C-10 too. Orange with a white roof & center section. There were a lot of people who were alcoholics where we lived. He was constantly pulling people out who went over the hill or into the creek. Once, a guy brought the tool truck home from work, but stopped off to have a few drinks on his way home. He went down about 8 ft into the creek. This thing had probably 1,000 pounds of tools, air compressor, wielding rig, etc. on it, but that truck pulled it out just as well as if it had been empty. Good memories.

If it was a 4x4, it would have been a K10. "C-10" indicates 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton.

Check out Ed China's (original mechanic from Wheeler Dealers) You Tube show Garage Revival. He shows up at people's home garage with a van full of tool boxes & helps people who are stuck at a certain point in their build & helps them get over the hump (usually knowledge or skill related). Much better investment with your time than watching a bunch of clowns with impact wrenches.

Transmission cooler... I like supplying the add on first, then routing through radiator cooler before return. Why? Two things. First, less heat put into coolant and second is cold weather: a little preheat helps hold moisture collection at bay in the transmission.
