Slaps the roof of Adam - This bad boy can fit so many identity and self loathing issues
Tbh I dont even like Cannon Adam I just think its funny to put him through hell (lol) and back. Literally I just want to shove him through a wringer. I think conceptually he has a lot of potential, the first guy ever, lost, purposeless, and with no one to reprimand him in thousands of years. But those writers put in sooo much work to make him as unlikable as possible and by god it has worked! Still, I do kinda hope that he comes back next season as a demon even if it is pretty unlikely.
Also featuring some of my redesigns! That's why some of the characters look a little funky, hopefully they still look similar enough that you don't have trouble telling who they are anyway lol.

i like how, in the orginal song, it was a search for identity because jane didn't know who she was in the past. But in this version, its a search for identity because Adam knew who he was in the past so starkly, and now that thats been stripped away, he has no clue what his purpose is
Honestly this is a good design for Adam. Since in Christian theology humans are depicted as sheep with the Lord as their shepherd and that rams are associated with their aggressive displays. He also shares similar personality traits with the biblical Lucifer and is often depicted as a goat demon

While I personally don’t think Adam will come back, 1:58 I gotta say Adam self loathing and being mentally tormented by the reflection what he saw himself as for roughly 10,000 years for what he’s now become is a fascinating concept. Also all the designs for the cast are phenomenal to boot.
With the first entrance of this animatic it’s immediate with how the lyrics and imagery work amazingly together, the grotesque on Hell’s streets completely foreign to Adam, the first winner (I believe) and with the next lines on a choir never complete displaying Lute display what their relationship (situationship better suited) is like, dependent on each other, as their identities utilize each other, Adam needing that validation that is immediate from Lute and the companionship, albeit subtle from Lute.
“Just John and me” presumably Lucifer?- due to the imagery of Eden later on with him and the apple, somewhat a reflection on Adam currently, both of them once being God’s favorite, now in a hell of their own making. Not to mention his further rant about being the first man Adam solidifies this point, that he is God’s favorite, that he shouldn’t be in hell, because of the fact that Adam’s ego is fed throughout heaven with him being the first man.
Furthermore the destroying of the guitar reminiscent of the rock music and vocals that he mimics entirely in contrast to the type of guitar (acoustic or somethin). This could also be seen as symbolism, that the guitar represented Charlie extending and olive branch, a form of consolation, and Adam wasn’t jested to this, he was never seen at fault in Heaven and thus immediately rejects the olive branch, destroying it due to ego and anguish. In its source material, Jane Doe refrains from using Gods name in vain because it is sin yet this also applies to Adam in this case as he asks why, why could he be left at this fate, with the most respect he’s given to anybody, following God’s rules as he asks for explanation.
“Why be left with no family and no friends” in referent to his relation to women. In Eden he had two wives, with Lilith being his equal (Mythos that they were created from the dusts of the earth), she had the same arrogant and egotistical attitude, thus leading her to leave him. And with Eve being made from his rib (making her ‘subservient’) being the one to lead him into sinning, which likely made him resent her later, hence why they aren’t seen together, let alone around each other in Heaven. And then his army of exorcists, created in his image, though a distant relationship from the one that he craves, and then his relationship with Lute. Lute is what people would describe as a right hand man to Adam and thus leads to the nonchalant attitude with her, and then leading into a more comfortable relationship, hence why he is so particularly anguished at the loss of her, because he can never keep a stable romantic relationship with the women he pursues.
“Time eats all his children in the end” Displaying the shadowed faces of Angel and Husk is a particularly interesting touch (my favorite !!! ) that demonstrates how different he perceives himself from them, people, who are foreign to him, that utterly despise him, which isn’t behavior he’s used to back in Heaven. “Time eats all his children in the end” this shows us another parallel between Adam and now the sinners, with the original sin coming from Adam, it’s in the nature of humans to sin, in the end, humans will go back to sin, and so it makes entire sense for the first man ever to end up in Hell, not to mention this could be taken as another parallel of him and Lucifer, that it is simply a matter of time till they are no longer in God’s favor, in the end they fell as soon as they started straying from obedience, Lucifer’s ideas and Adam’s God-complex.
Lute’s operatic-like singing serves in direct contrast to Adam’s rocker vibe, similar to the gospels and hymns in church, a possible indicator that she is Heaven-born, not to mention that she strikes out into another genre from Adam due to his death. The longer notes in contrast to Adam’s directness both in vocals and lyrics a clear demonstration on their differences in how they operate, Adam is brash and rushes into things head first due to ego, but Lute’s long notes display how she is calculated, playing a ‘long game’ to get the best outcome. (Her little dance alone with her wings flaring is *amazing*) Her solo waltz a demonstration on how intricate she is, both in singing and in something that is shown to be an act that she shares with Adam, also a demonstration of anguish, a choreography never to be danced to again due to her losing her partner and her arm. Her sisters’ (presumably sisters) reaction to Adam’s death is almost seen as nonchalant, that they had no particular connection to him unlike Lute due to their disinterested “does anyone care”. Lute’s “Another song that no one knows” as she looks over a mural of the Original Sin (not sure if it’s a *glass mural* like in churches but it’s whatever :) ) seems as if she’s singing Adam’s praises once more, a song she never forgets, yet also direct that Heaven seems to forget who he is, the first man, with her sisters complete disregard to his death.
(*that transition is SICK* and also shows that Adam, the uncooperative, bothered to learn some fanciful dance just for Lute and remembers the dance fondly)
As the rest of the hotel seems to mock him, it almost looms to send him into a spiral, obvious to Charlie. (Once again because of his *ego*, being completely invalidated is a foreign concept to him) Adam lashes out at Charlie because she is the easiest outlet to be used, his anger often used into docile victims. Possibly because she is his first friendly face in Hell and also a woman is henceforth why he appears so hostile, the fact that Charlie is Lilith’s spawn with that same cunning not to mention his issues with women, Adam attempts to drive her off as to have no further issues such as with Lilith and Eve, but Charlie’s persistence keeps her.
(*love how direct it is with ’self loathing metaphor’*) Adam’s angel form is presumably the same as when he first entered Heaven, due to his lack of mask and clothing like his time in Eden, another parallel between his first appearance in Heaven and Hell, also possibly due to the fact that Adam was pure-em upon his first entrance to Heaven and now he sees himself as sinner scum because he resides in Hell. Furthermore with the lyrics, Angel!Adam separates himself from Sinner!Adam, mockingly, because Adam sees it as complete shock that he is here, that this evil, this sinner body is completely different from who he is.

I never actually expected a Sinner Adam animatic to me done to The Ballad Jane Doe, but it all works so beautifully to form a story cohesive twitch the canon show as well-

I actually have something to add with the "Time eats all his children in the end"
I'm positive Adam's refered to and referes to himself multiple as "The First Man" but I I'm not sure if he ever explicitly states that every single human in existence is his direct descendant
So they might've dropped that element of the myth because of implied incest but if they didn't that would make Husk and Angel "his children"
So the words "Time eats all his children in the end" gain a couple of extras meanings.
It could mean that time, aging, death, and decay: physical, mental and morale "consume" all of Adam's children, bringing them all to hell "in the end"
Or it could be that time eroded any connection or kinship him and his children might've felt for eachother. Time ate all his children, so now all he's left with is a bunch of strangers.
Or we could assume "Time" is refering to Adam. then It could be a reference to the exorcisms; where adam kills his children, or "eats" them in a metaphorical sense, for his own amusement.
Or, it could be an entirely ironic statement, since we're currently watching Angel and Husk pick on Adam, so we're watching his children "eat him".

I love seeing all the fan interpretations of Sinner Adam! I reeeeally hope he comes back as a sinner in season 2. It would put Charlie's ideals to the test. Does she show him compassion, or does she not? How can she forgive someone who hurt her and her friends so badly? Can he be redeemed? If so, should she take on facilitating said redemption or not? No easy answers there, and it would be a great character building moment to see her grapple with this inner conflict.
I like this goat-based design! Something about it just seems to fit him.

What makes this actually great is keying the movements and changes to the music beats. Also, I love the ending shot on Vaggie, sizing things up. Her story is so cool, and it parallels well with Adam. It’s also in fitting for her to not be the focus of the song, or even interacting with the focus at all, yet still have such a powerful silent closing shot.

I can imagine when the next extermination happens that Lute sees Adam and thinks hes a normal sinner like everyone else and tries to kill him and he starts swearing ALOT and then Lute recognizes his voice and decides to leave him alone, (she isn't sure if its actually Adam or if its just someone who sounds like him)

I honestly hope that Adam does get reincarnated as a sinner in season 2 because I honestly would find his Dynamic of being reluctantly at the hotel just trying his best even though he clearly is just kind of annoyed and is kind of suffering of the hotel being his own personal hell because he's basically just kind of forced to pretend to be nice and I'm like that dynamic in the shower just be so funny and I honestly hope we can see you next season 2 and Adam is the only new character that I would ever want in the main cast because there's already seven of them so anymore is just stealing away our precious main characters precious screen time that has already been given to uses idiots like Carmella zastyol and so many others

@@I_Ate_ChocolateI don't hate Carmela the character like I think she has a whole lot of potential to be a good character it's just like I don't like how she basically wasted our time we could have had an episode about how veggie doesn't trust people and why but instead we wasted a huge big part of that on carmilla and her daughters who I don't give a crap about because she was just tacked on and she was a screen time waster which just made me kind of angry and I don't have a lot of hate for characters like or Mimsy or Carmela because I feel like they can be good characters it's just that the time that we could have been using I don't know on developing our main characters was wasted on characters that we just really can't feel for because we just met them I can't cry over carmilla's song about wanting to protect your daughters because I don't know them I don't know who they are I don't know why she cares so much I can't empathize with her character because she's not built up because we literally just met her in the same episode
