Viel Glück! Can't wait to see your updates!
Wishing you a happy hike! Thankyou for the content.
Dude, so glad to see you getting back out again. Gear videos are fine but can’t wait for some trail video. I hope you have a great time and am sending good vibes your way stave off the injuries.
wishing you all the best on your journey on the continental divide trail. looking forward to watching your journey. have a great journey brother
Been looking forward to your posting this trip. Glad you took your time and enjoyed the trail .
one of the best videos on that subject i have ever seen, with someone who finally goes into the necessary details of whats in the pack and what am i wearing… 👍
Darwin, you always make an excellent presentation on your equipment. Thank you.
I wish you the best on your CDT journey.
Thank you very much! ❤️🔥
Thank you so much for information! I am planning my GDT trail hike next year and your channel helps a lot.
Darwin, I just booked my first ever solo hike/camp trip in Montana in less than two weeks. I'm ecstatic to break away from the matrix of my life & job and find mental clarity out in the mountains. I just found your channel and it's got me that much more excited to use my gear.
Good luck Darwin. Really excited for you!!!
i would have liked to see that starting food, too!
Yes I never know how much food to bring and usually way over pack
@@allisonnevulis5864 he already said for how many days he packed. that is not the question. i wanted to see what exactly he packed that he got so little weight.
Yeah would love to see that too, not only meals but the snacks on the go. Isn't it 7000 calories a day a thru-hiker burns? Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@chrisbentleywalkingandrambling It varies greatly on how far you go, terrain, heat/sun, how much you are exerting yourself, and the persons size. 7k cals is definitely on the verrrry high end. 3000-4000 is a lot more common.
@@twomstone_17 right 5000 calories at max!
Looking forward to the updates and the stories of your trip. Have fun and be safe!
Good luck. You’re amazing and I look forward to following your progress.
Thank You!
Safe journey Darwin, looking forward to your trail updates.
Awesome videos as always, thank you so much for taking us along!!!!!!!
So damn excited for you! Hope the Trail is treating you well!
Stoked for you dude hope you have blast out there
Thank you Darwin for this info! I’m really enjoying you videos! Happy New year❤️🎉❤️
You do things really well. Love your vids.
It's always great to see you hiking again
Those weights are amazing. So happy for you to be down to such a great base weight. 😊
I love Darwin gear load outs. Some of the best videos in the backpacking realm. Always a treat. Thanks for sharing Darwin. Crow
Liked the set up. Looking forward to watching the trip updates.
Best wishes!! Have a blast and be safe!
That camera + lens combo is so clutch! Just picked it up this spring and am loving the quality and lightweight.
Awesome! Looking forward to more videos about your adventures on the CDT. Maybe a future video could be on your cold soak meals for this thru hike.
Loved this episode. In 2012 we stayed at Many Glacier Hotel. One of the coolest places I’ve ever been. Gorgeous
Be safe out there! Have a great trek!
This might be your most evolved gear list so far! I especially like your relatively minimal camera kit (compared to one of your previous kits). Should do the job. Have fun on the CDT 😎👍
Best of luck ! Happy Trails !
Looking forward to your SOBO CDT journal videos!
Good luck and enjoy yourself on the trail!
Always a great setup! I love the weight considering the camera stuff too. Thank you for categorizing everything. I hate when people just rattle off a list. Have a wonderful time!
Can't wait!!! I'll be watching all the way!
It's like we're preparing to go on the trail. You allow us to imagine something amazing, dude. Hopefully, one day I'll be doing the same.
Absolutely stunning!!
So excited for you! Hopefully I’ll be able to do some trail magic for you as you enjoy the mountains of Colorado.🏔👍
Another great video. This will be very useful for when I will do my attempt of CDT
I want to thank you for your reviews and comments. I take them seriously and I have experienced similar issues, because I am similar height, I am heavier weight. I purchased the EVLV, CNOC poles and I actively compare my gear list to yours. I tend to carry more water, more first aid, maybe I do not need to, not sure. Thank you again.
Thank you Darwin I dig the back ground music have a good start out I am really glad your keeping with your goals ..
I am currently heading out of Mount Hood NOBO to the Eagle Creek trail head goal for this season is to reach Manning ..

Thanks Darwin I look forward to your videos. As always I enjoyed your kit choices and weight. Take Care
Thanks Warren, you too! 🤙
Awesome awesome. Looking forward to watching the journey
Inspirational. Thank you. Best wishes for your hike. Peace.
Thank You!
Darwin, i did glacier NP in late july a year or two back and on some of the trails i really wished i had an ice axe like that. There are sections where the trail crosses chutes of snow which are very sketchy. Also make sure to bring gps (i like gaia app) because the snow covers the trail and it’s easy to get lost/disoriented. hope this helps! enjoy!
Safe travels Darwin and I look forward to the video's
Happy trails!
The fact that Waymark is “still not sponsored” is a shame. I had never heard of them until this channel (And I’m sure I’m not the only one). Come on Waymark, the man has without a doubt brought in customers for you.
Safe travels D, hope all goes well!
I think that’s his choice. I was under the impression he even helped make that bag
Edit: just watched the end of the vid, def his choice. But I’m with ya! I’d never heard of them either
#stillnotsponsored is a mark of pride here not a cry for sponsorship. He previously did a video talking about why he doesn’t want to be sponsored.
@@enlightened1ne gotcha, thx.
I am guessing he got more (sponsor)money for creating that model so he can remain technically being unsponsored.
Good luck! I’ll be following for sure.
I don't know you, of course, but having watched a lot of your videos, my interpretation of what I see in this one: you seem to be in great harmony.
❤️❤️❤️
Here in BC (squamish/Vancouver area) we still have snow on trails at 1500m. So the ice axe might be beneficial.
Can’t wait to see the first videos and hope to see you at the ALDHA Gathering in October!! Keep that bear mace handy!! I just saw that news report of the woman being pulled from her tent in Montana!!
Excited to see your contents bro.
Good luck. I hope the hike goes well.
Darwin,
Thank you for all of your creative content, videos, and reviews. I really look forward to reach item you pay on CZcams.
I hadn't paid attention in the past videos to your camera gear, however, have you always called two cameras and your cell phone? What is the advantage of carrying two cameras vs one camera and a specialized lens?
Safe travels and big days,
Chris
Stoked to see this trail through your lens bro.
Amazing base weight! But cold-soaking for 6 months! I would SO miss my stove! Looking forward to following your journey.
Hot coffee is a must for me too.
Same. Especially in the colder start, you might need some stove and warm water for the nights or mornings.
I have done long stretches of the AT and have spent some time with through hikers and for some reason many of them did the same thing, cold soaking. Since my stove BRS and Toaks pot weigh nothing, I really don’t get it but for many it’s a thing. No hot coffee leave me out. He is carrying that Anker and for his needs it’s a must buy it’s super heavy. He is very light but because he films his light gear is made heavy carrying all
If his filming gear. I also don’t know how he does water carry’s with that pack. Desert travel with eight liters must be brutal. He does it and he is young.
Hello Mr Darwin! I purchased the EVLV, Altra shoes and CNOC poles per your comments. Thank you!
Fantastic. So excited for you
Good luck dude!!
Have a beautiful and safe adventure!
Thank You! ❤️🔥
i love watching gear videos and i must say, yours are the only ones i can really enjoy. so relaxing. so easy to watch. and even music, that is not distracting but adds to the mood. really appreciated.
Glad you like them! 🤙
Missed you! Take care and enjoy.
One of my patients ran into you while doing the cDT. Unfortunately he hurt his knee and had to return home for me to check it out. Hoping he gets back on the trail soon.
Thanks so much for sharing! Very helpful !
Looking forward to the uploads, homie!
Hey Darwin - one reco for your little swiss army knife. You can take of the plastic outer shells and replace them with shells (originals by victorinox) that have room for tweezers, toothpick, firefly, neede etc - no additional wheigt - more utility :)
That's a darn good base weight. Best of luck!
Me: "Dang, this pack I like only comes in 45L and 70L, but will 45L really be enough for a long distance hike?"
Darwin: 35L CDT pack
35L is the magic number
@@SophisticatedDogCat So 70L must be double the magic.
@@Arbie812 No...
@@Arbie812 Double the magic LOL. NO. Triple the Weight the extra Space always gets filled with Stuff you don't really need
Me eyeing an 85 liter pack for a cdt thru-hike 👀
Good luck Darwin!
Hi Darwin thanks for the great video it was really helpful
Very nice, have fun and enjoy
Thais is the best Equipment List, thanks mar from germany Cologne!
Have great adventure! Be safe.
Thank you! Will do! ❤️🔥
You should really get a cleat with a toe spike/ cleats. It's the only reason for cleats in my opinion. That PNW snow is hard as a rock. Good luck on the hike and have fun.
I look forward to watching your videos on cdt
Good luck, 21 pounds seems like a dream! I love your videos when seeking advise for my bikepacking adventures.
You should try the Vuori shorts to hike in! My fiance says they're the best running/ workout shorts he's ever worn. They have really nice pockets and a great liner (which is why he loves them).
Found you randomly through another channel. I want to say second chance but not 100% certain, maybe Kyle Hates Hiking. Look forward to following your thru-hike, happy trails!!!👣
Never enough gear load out videos!
Damn that's an awesome set up. Best of luck!
I don't think you mentioned but do you plan on doing an alternate route through the winds to see more of them? I remember you saying they are one of the things you are most excited for and most people say the alternate is worth it.
Thanks D
Appreciate the equipment projections
The best packing guru
I'm new to your channel and looking forward to checking out your video's and looking forward to seeing your adventures on the trail atvb Jimmy from England 🇬🇧😎😎👍👍
Wow. Great Base weight! ⛺
Awesome man safe journey 👍
I see you’re posting to FB, surprised not to see videos of the hike on CZcams. Maybe later🤞
Are you there, Darwin? Waiting to see some trail footage!!
Thanks for the awsome review! Don't think you will be needing the ice axe in glacier I heard they are have record high temperatures so far this year for most of the northern US and even into Canada.
this could be true, yeah. crampons and trekking pole might suffice
Dude I love the way you structured the video. Very clear and entertaining. It would have been nice to see some prices as I’m looking for new gear, but I know that was not the intention of the video.
Thanks, but it’s Not a commercial or a buyers guide, it’s just my Gear List.
@@DarwinOnthetrail I know bro. You put the links so that’s amazing. I’m going to get the Alta Lone Peaks. Have fun on the trail!
Thank you
yoooooo. gonna cop that bidet man. that is fantastic.
It’s a Game Changer!
Have fun bud! Looking forward to following along! Nice sun hoodie :)
Random question: I've noticed that you have a super clean tent in a lot of your videos. How do you clean the mud off of your tent after a super heavy rain storm? Are there any cool tricks or is it just a matter of experience?
HI DARWIN 👋
THANK YOU 🙏
BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS ON 🙏 YOUR JOURNEYS / ON THE TRAILS ! SEEING HOW DIFFERENT THIS YEAR WILL BE & THE OPPOSITE WAY TOO ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU 🙏
Good Luck! I like the 9" nike shorts, but that's because for extra sun protection.
Great to meet you on Yellowstone border.
Safe trails Darwin!
Much respect to thru hikers
🤙🔥
I did not hear you mention any type of bug repellent? Have a safe fun trip look forward to your videos
I'm interested in how the bidet worked for you. I'm considering one myself
Cool vid
