    2024 Rolls-Royce Cullinan
    Starting at an estimated $355,000
Highs: Soul-soothing comfort, tasteful opulence, buttery V-12 engine.
Lows: Odd proportions, standard rear seats lack modern amenities, that's too much money.
Verdict: The Cullinan embodies the dreamy grandeur and imposing presence that other luxury SUVs strive for but few achieve.
    Overview
There's a reason why people call high-end luxury products the "Rolls-Royce of…" The Cullinan is a big-body SUV powered by a silky-smooth twin-turbocharged V-12 engine that produces up to 592 horsepower. Designed for absolute comfort and affordable for the extremely wealthy, Cullinan pampers you with two rows of comfortable seating as beautiful as leather seats. No other SUV has lambswool floor mats inside and a killer hood ornament on the outside. While its exterior may be a little too London cab for our tastes, its cabin can be adapted to suit the wildest tastes and deepest pockets. The Daddy Warbucks of SUV perfection have few rivals, but if a billionaire has to cross-shop, the Bentley Bentayga or Mercedes-AMG G63 could be a good starting point. Even then, it's not the Cullinan knocking on the bus door.
    What's New in 2023?
Rolls-Royce is not making any changes to the Cullinan for the 2023 model year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
    Cullinan: $355,000 (estimated)
In the fantasy scenario of being able to afford a Cullinan, we'd opt for the Crystal paint scheme, 22-inch seven-spoke wheels, gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, and electronic tow hitch. We selected the Center Console Immersive Seating option, which provides a massaging function for the rear seats and replaces the middle seat with a console that doubles as a cool box holding two champagne flutes and a whiskey decanter. And we won't miss the opportunity to showcase the fiber optic starry night sky of the fabric overhead through the Shooting Star Headliner. Finally, we'd add rear privacy glass and side curtains to make the back row a quiet hideaway.
    Engine, Transmission and Performance
The Cullinan's twin-turbocharged 6.7-liter V-12 engine delivers 563 horsepower (592 horsepower in the Black Badge model) and is whisper-quiet so as not to disturb the VIPs in the cabin. The vehicle we tested recorded 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds; This was an impressive figure for a vehicle weighing nearly three tons. All-wheel drive is standard, but we suspect buyers will never run the risk of driving off the tarmac and damaging the paint. The Cullinan has air suspension that receives information from a road scanning camera and automatically adjusts the vehicle's height to compensate for pavement imperfections. Ride comfort is beyond the standards of ordinary luxury vehicles, as the Cullinan glides along the road, transmitting nothing unpleasant to those inside.
Fuel Economy and Real World MPG
The Cullinan's V-12 powertrain is rated at 12 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Believe it or not, these figures aren't the worst in their class. The V-12-powered Bentley Bentayga is rated at 12 mpg city and 17 highway. We ran the Cullinan on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, part of our extensive testing regime, and it exceeded expectations, achieving 21 mpg. For more information on the Cullinan's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
    Interior, Comfort and Cargo
The spacious cabin is covered in full-grain leather, lambswool carpeting, beautiful wood veneers and milled aluminum accents. If you want an even higher level of luxury, Rolls-Royce will customize almost every part of the Cullinan's already lavish interior with every taste imaginable. The only warts in this decadent space are the all-digital instrument cluster, which lacks the elegance of an analogue setup, and the standard rear seats, which aren't as flexible as a park bench. At least buyers can fix the latter problem by opting for a two-seat second row with adjustability and massage functions. The exterior is classic Rolls-Royce, but the vehicle's tailgate configuration allowed the brand to fit an optional Display Suite into the cargo area, consisting of a pair of leather-trimmed chairs and a small table that juts out from the floor.
