I appreciated that they didn't have a tragic backstory for how Massimo lost his arm, it's simply the way he was born. Also, in the spinoff short, he officially adopts Alberto.
This is a top tier Pixar movie and one I didn't expect to make me cry so much. The part where Alberto said "You got me off the island" broke me. He deserves the world.
While it isn't 100% confirmed, everyone noticed the very big queer analogies in the movie, with Alberto and Luca having feelings for each other but each dealing with the pressures of their identities in their own way. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie and noticed it too!
@@guiwars2the co-director drew art of them kissing and stated they wanted it to be included in the movie. that’s probably what the other comment is talking about !!
@@nat-oi2fh I don't think they wanted it to be included in the movie, at least if you're talking about what I think you're talking about. It was concept art from one of the people working on the movie, for a scrapped short film or something they just drew themselves, of Luca and Alberto meeting up furing summer 4 years in a row, and during the 4th year, they shared a kiss.
I thought the creator released his queer art of Luca and Alberto, meaning they WERE meant to be queer(i only vaguely remember cause it was trending on tumblr last year)
@@silver1276 I think you are referring to Kenna Jean Harris, who was the lead character designer on Luca and directed the short, Ciao Alberto. She shared 4 sketches on her Instagram of Luca and Alberto being cuddly and obviously more than just friends. But there was never any intention for them to be queer.
@goldengriffon possibly cause all i just remember was people going crazy about the art of them but nonetheless thank you for the name and the title of the person who created the art!!
I dont know how they did it, but this film reminded me of the way i used to see the world as a child. The magical imaginitive dream sequences, meeting new friends and having nonstop adventures, being so excited to learn and understand things that were a mystery before. I know there are many different messages in the film, but it just gave me a thirst for that life again...or view on life is more like it. The ending scene of luca on the train with the music 😭 got me crying so bad
This movie is 110% queer coded, one of the artists who worked on the movie dropped drawings of luca and alberto during pride last year that were so damn precious T-T i cry at the ending every single time, this movie is just so amazing.
One thing about Pixar movies. They’re going to put you in the feels every time 😢”you got me off the island” 😭 the queer undertones were all throughout Luca! Loved this movie. Great reaction as always 🔥✨
me jumping into this video like a great luca reaction and "is this queer? yes" = i am having a great time, then seeing this comment like aha 👋having had the exact same experience with your original luca reaction lol & being the one dropping a short essay in those comments. sure not loving this movie any less in 2024 & the resonance with queer experiences being a real metric of success here when important themes are ways people are othered & then this movie knowing that it's really all about this core relationship / dynamic and giving that all the focus it deserves. shoutout to Another fantastic luca reaction for sure!!
i know people still try to say there's no queer undertones in luca but come on,..like that line at 30:06 "some people, they'll never accept them.."? and then you said it too, like yes the metaphor is right there! i'm glad that you talked abt that. this is such a cute movie even without that aspect though:] pixar rlly out here making everyone cry every time i swear
Omg not this film being Challengers coded, which is a film directed by LUCA Guadagnino who also directed Call Me By Your Name a queer film set in ITALY 😭
I've recently been rewatching this movie and it's becoming a comfort one for me. It might be simple, but I find it very relatable and it brings me good vibes.
YOU ARE BACK. Your reactions are the best! You’re so funny. And when you cry I just wanna give you a hug and a tissue. Please keep making videos. I have a few movies I think you will enjoy watching: The Mummy Returns (2001) Charlies Angel’s 2: Full Throttle (2003) She’s The Man (2006) Miss Congeniality 1 & 2 John Tucker Must Die (2006) Batman & Robin (1997) - because of Uma Therman haha! The Gift (2015) The Visit (2015) Peninsula (2020) - this is part 2 to Train to Busan Brave (2012) That’s all for now. I will comment when I think of more suggestions. Chuuzus, you and your channel will be going places because you are so genuine in your videos and your reactions are so raw. We love it! Please stay sparkly🤩
When you said "I don't want to cry" at the beginning I said out loud "WATCHING LUCA?!?!?"... I knew you were unprepared for the fight you were walking into LoL
Even though I'm not queer i picked up on the themes and undertones from being with my friends through their queer journey. I cried like a baby and i absolutely love this movie
this movie is SO queer coded im so happy you talked about it!! and something to make you even happier: the director of alberto’s spinoff, mckenna jean harris, is actually a luberto shipper and has shared some fanart of the two on their ig story !
Is so sad this movie is not apreciated enough. I absolutely love it! It makes me cry everytime and yes, I know we (queer people) might relate the story to the queer experience and that is why we love it but nevertheless is such a good heartwarming and beautiful film. Thank you for reacting to it and maybe get more people into it
There are big queer analogies in this film-especially when it comes to Luca and Alberto dealing with their feelings for each other-but my homophobic auntie RAVED about this film and said how she loved that it was about accepting different types of relationships. I didn't have the heart nor energy to tell her the truth. 😅
I really don't see Luca and Alberto as gay, just best friends. Especially seeing Luca also hanging out with Giulia. ^^ Also, Luca is basically a Gillman (species). Specifically a tailed gillman.
A LETTER TO MOMO (2014) a Japanese animation. So emotional and funny and absolutely stunning visuals... a teenager from Tokio moves to a little village by the sea & we get to knoe what happened to her & how she feels..
This is such a beautiful and underrated film tbh. My favorite thing about this movie, is actually watching the credits and seeing the continuation of their story through it. I usually turn off movies right after, but while wiping my tears, I noticed the art on the side of the credits. It was the first time in a while that I sat and watched all of the credits
i will DIE on the hill that luca is queer - coded. the fact that they're fish people with the ability to shift into humans just shows that they're suppressing a part of themselves to be accepted into society. when the grandmother said that line, i was like yep, yep! queer allegory. in my heart and my opinion, this was the closest disney will ever come to touching on the subject, probably.
Oh God Chuuzus, I love your videos so much you have such an amazing energy and personality, I'm so happy you got to watch this movie! I cried so much every single moment was so heart warming:') hope you're good and can't wait for more content from you!! I always get excited seeing you post new videos MWAH!
If you want to watch Japanese anime films, then I HIGHLY recommend that you watch the Makoto Shinkai films: Your Name’, ‘Weathering With You’, and ‘Suzume’.
You finally watched Luca 🙌🏽 After I just watched Season 1 of Interview with a vampire had me confused 🤔🥴 I'm happy to have you uploaded 😁 I always cry with this movies 😩😢
Actually!! The creator said Luca and Alberto are “platonic” and that they’re inspired on his own childhood with his best friend, BUT recently the crew let it be know that they’ve prepared a whole sequence where Luca was going to go back every summer with Alberto, both growing older and older AND in the end of that sequence they where going to kiss. Alberto and Luca were not platonic and is VERY obvious, but Disney didn’t let them, in fact, they where going to be boyfriends and Giullia is a lesbian!! They’re a queer friend group, such a shame that Disney didn’t let them do it, and tbh the movie has plot holes left behind bc of that decision
Its not an animation, but i would really enjoy seeing your blind reaction to the movie Before I Wake (2016). 10/10 great movie that can bring you to tears

This isn’t a sad animated film but Dreamwork’s How To Train Your Dragon is my favorite animated movie. The story is cute and the score is incredible.
Steve Jobs owned Pixar before he sold it to Disney in 2006.
