Best duel of the season, Giannis MVP wemby Rookie of the Year
The biggest obstacle for Wemby right now is his teammates (probably part of Pop's tanking plan), like that play the Spurs guard chose to get blocked by Giannis instead of passing the ball to Victor.
I hope the game plan going forward will include more of Wemby for the Spurs. they are tough and really need more coaching not to be left to their own decisions with lack of experience and at times basketball IQ@@Ometecuhtli

Have been watching him his entire LNB Season in France, he had the same evolution so far, good start in Autumn, Nov and Dec some struggles, then starts the new year and it 's progression game after game ... next 6 months will be real interesting!

4:51 I would disagree, no one expected Giannis to be what he is now almost 10 years ago. Meanwhile, Victor had all the media's eyes on him years before his actual draft night. So people are expecting a lot from him, and he delivers.
I agree with you. Giannis was literally on nobody's radar. He sat in the crowd where fans were when he got drafted at #15. The potential with Giannis was always there, it was a matter of who was willing to put in the work to develop this young player. It was a risk that many organization passed up on. This is why Giannis is so grateful for the Bucks organization and wants to stay there as long as possible. Meanwhile Wemby his talent was well known to everyone. Drafted #1 and not much work was needed for him to be great. You expect him to play like that in his rookie season as a #1 draft pick. Anything less is a bust.
If the Spurs find an elite point guard, the Spurs will become a good team.

For 36 minutes Victor is averaging 23-13-4, 1.3 steels and 4 blocks per game. LeBron James as a rookie for 36 minutes averaged 19-5-5, 1.5 steels and 0.7 blocks. At the same juncture (6th Jan) Lebron was 10-24 and Wemby 5-28. Two generational talents
Well, Giannis just had 44p-14r-7a-2s in an away match facing Wemby... he's better than both of them. Wemby is impresive at this age, but he has to keep working, keep healthy and climb a difficult mountain, called life and one also difficult called NBA. He has to do a lot, to become better than Giannis or Lebron. We've seen a lot of vareers, begin great and ending up to nowhere....Lets hope this kid makes it, and follows the footsteps of Giannis. It's the only way to success.
@@greekveteran2715 I was not comparing the final products. I was only comparing the players at the same stage of their careers - as rookies. Being great as a rookie does not necessarily mean you are great as a 10th year player. Therefore, what you have said is also correct.

For Giannis’ rookie numbers, watch the video again at @4:42 Also, Giannis played 39 minutes last night. Wemby only played 26 but was still able to put up decent stats, imo - 27 pts, 9 reb, 5 blk. No doubt that he still has a lot to learn but I think he is learning indeed.

Those numbers translate to 37-13-7 or about in 36 minutes of play, that's MVP level stats. and yes, @greekveteran2715 missed the point of OPs comment, Giannis was (still is) an athletic freak of nature but not very good in basketball so he had to work extra hard to get where he is, Victor is both athletically and sports wise gifted, and worked hard to get there too, that's one reason you don't see many 7'4s doing the things he does.

Why do players put a compression sleeve on one specific arm?
That's a question I have since forever! If it's indeed compression, I can only think, that it helps the muscles stay in put. Tendons get less damage and the arm feels more stable. I use similar stuff on both my feet/ankles using compression socks and near my elbow, to help my damaged tendons. I used to work harder than these athletes do,, so I damaged both my arms and me knees/ankles. I'm 43 and I feel like 70. Athletes at this level, also overwork their muscles.that's my only guess. It could be for the looks too! If anybody knows exactly. please tell us!

Y’all just say anything and seem to have some sort of hatefulness towards Wemby. Victor of all people is aware of that and has been building muscle over the off season, he’ll do the same next year and by the time his 3rd-4th year is around he’ll almost have a Giannis frame.
Yao was heavier and closer to Mark Eaton or Mureshan, Victor has hopefully access to better medical staff and a slower process in the Spurs organization, don't want to rush things up. Hopefully he has a lengthy career as Kareem's, he doesn't have to live inside the key to be effective so that'll help him get through his prime years too.
