Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana and I, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!
See our journey to self-sufficiency / permaculture / organic farming living in Portugal, trying to produce as much of our own food planting vegetables, growing fruit trees as well as looking after all our animals, such as our chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, quail, rabbits and sheep - Shortly pigs too!

I so enjoy watching your farm videos and I especially love how Andre knows so much about the plants! He is amazing with his knowledge of the flowers fruits, bushes and even cork trees! He brings the land to life for us foreign viewers!

That is a gorgeous property, thank you both for showing it to us. As I dream away about what I would do to make it my little farm, I find myself wondering if there are still "artisan builders" (?) that can be brought in to build traditional stone houses?
It would be amazing to live on that land, with that view, in a beautiful stone house with massive walls. They do such a marvellous job maintaining even temperatures indoors, a new one could be built in a way that would have the lightest carbon footprint possible.
Hi Joseph, the lambs look fantastic, When I owned lambs in the UK, I never docked there tails, would be nice to own more lambs, hopefully in the next coupe of years I will move out there.

@@KokaniMitraprobably not very easy for you. Easy to buy the land, but being able to love there unless you’re an EU citizen isn’t simple.
@@paulb1951 i have stayed in US for 10 years on Business visa. Hopefully i want to spend my retired life in portugal. Actually iam half Portuguese. When Portuguese were ruling in Goa in the seventeen century. Any suggestions.. 💕

Boar seldomly attack Sheep unless they are very very starved or cornered tho

Any conditions with uk citizens?
You can buy land in Portugal and if there is a ruin building, you can rebuild it without obtaining planning permission, since it had one already.
Most of Portugal has over 260 days of sunshine. The only problem is that capital gain tax is about 48%, but if you buy another property within 36 months and you pay 0%.
I have been to over 48 countries and I highly recommend, Portugal or Uzbekistan.
Hi Joseph, I have a system for you that will make your trees grow better in the dry season!
No water needed.
And I will try to bring a new system to upgrade the ground with the branches of the trees!
