Sorry it's take me so long to reply. I'll have find a few more worthy bottles to shoot a video on budget tequilas but I'll get to it as soon as I can. Thanks & Cheers!
I'm mostly a whisk(e)y drinker, but I'll sip on the Grand Mayan any day of the week. The oak influence is incredible and always gives me a Cognac-like impression. Cheers.
Man I'm impressed you can taste that many tequilas in a row and still give eloquent descriptions of each. I'm a whisky guy who's beginning to delve into the world of tequila. So far I've tried Camarena Repo and Blanco, Jimador Repo, Patron Repo, and Tres Generaciones Blanco and Anejo. Do you have an opinion of Tres Generaciones? I really liked the Anejo, but my experience with tequila is pretty limited so far. Love the vids, thanks.
Not important at all. You don't see non Americans trying to pronounce our English words correctly. A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet.
Partida Reposado, Don Eduardo Anejo, Fortaleza Blanco, Tapatio Blanco and Republic Plata all have big agave notes and are moderately priced and very smooth. Cheers!
Cazadores reposado is a great value, IMHO... far better than Patron repo. $18.95 here in AZ, a steal. For a bigger taste and more flavor, but with a little more burn, 3 Amigos Anejo is very good at around $30. Ever review Manik tequilas? BIG flavors!!
Awesome! For as longs as have drank tequila I have always enjoyed it. There is something about the agave that is funky and rich in flavor (to me!) . This video makes me think that with some experience I could grow to really appreciate tequila. Thank you!
I just found your channel. Wow, I'm incredibly impressed. So much knowledge and so many bottles, amazing collection. Your pallet seems on point as well.
Great presentation - thanks much! I'm a late arrival here, sorta like the person arriving later than anticipated or even socially accepted, to an important gathering or celebration. Now I'll do my best to catch-up to you some. I'll be binge viewing, at least through your rum and tequila (mezcal?) videos ASAP. You are a great find - thanks again! (Jonny-come-lately)
Great video. Hope you'll consider doing a comparison between mezcal and tequilas for someone who is starting to explore these spirits. Thanks for all of your videos as they have been a great complement to my whiskey experience.
Sorry for the long delay but I just saw I never replied to you. Some of my favorite Silver Tequilas would be Pure Verde (a top tier silver), Partida (another top tier but it's the same price as Patron and much better in my opinion), Camarena (very inexpensive but higher quality), Republic Plata (very nice as well), and Tapatio (full of flavor). Cheers!
That Cuervo Anejo (4th from the left) was an AMAZING sip. I had didn't understand how good it was at the time but it is absolutely the best tequila I have ever found. $7/bottle at the duty free. I should have bought it all. For the record, the Reserva de la Familia that I've had is much darker and way more flavorful.
Thank you for this fantastic review I purchased the Partida Reposado and the Maestro Dobel Diamante Tequila based on this review both are great! Casa noble crystal and Herradura crystal are always on my bar thanks for bringing new spirits to my rotation. Subscribed..
I just got into Tequilas. Or maybe I should say I'm taking Tequilas more serious. I actually do find those aromas and flavors in them. I never knew they existed but they really do. I'm enjoying some now, thanks for the tips. I can actually enjoy it with out the salt and lime. I think that just gets in the way of the true flavors. I got to say, Patron Silver don't have a bad rap out here in Cali. CHEERS EVERYONE!!!
I appreciate the time you put into your videos and the education you bestow on your viewers. I indulged in a shot of 1800 Coleccion at a tequila lounge called Tres Agaves. I am curious to know what do you think of that particular tequila.
Man, this video is dope. I want a collection like yours. I only have: Clase Azul Reposado, Don Julio 1942, Don Julio Real, Rey Sol extra añejo, Gran Patron Burdeos, and Herradura Legend.
Try Siete Lenguas (7 Lenguas), Centenario Reposado, and 1921 Reposado! Those are my 3 favorites as of right now! I’ve been to 2 different tequila festivals and the 3 are better than 90% of the tequilas I’ve tried there
As always, an outstanding job and video. Appreciate them very much. I'll be heading to the store soon to find some of these! At least hopefully, living in the middle of bourbon country doesn't exactly help with hard to find spirits other than bourbon. But hey, I'll give these a nice shot!
very cool :) I'm a scotch enthusiast. I got my first bottle of Patron Silver tonight. I was torn between Don Julia Blanca and Patron Silver as they are the pretty much the same price. So I just went with Patron. I probably should have bought Don Julio. I have drank a lot of scotch and I can nose it and give you a complex profile and taste it and give you an equally complex profile. I can't give you the same profile in tequila. Patron Silver, the nose I can only describe as almost tropical/citrus....mind you I've been "enjoying" Patron (lol). The taste I cannot identify though. I am an avid scotch fan, but, I have been searching for something else to drink as well. I don't like vodka or gin. Tequila is the answer. It's fantastic.
Thanks a lot! :D Keep doing what you do, your videos are a great way for me to learn a lot, being an aspiring bartender and hopefuly something along the lines of what you're doing. :)
Just recently got into sipping tequila. Coming from vodka and rum and have followed your channel! So far I have bottles of Patron anejo, Tres Agaves anejo, and Deleon blanco. Enjoying all three, but I really like the blanco with the bold sweet nose and flavor. Not to mention a very cool bottle and at $30 about half $ of Patron. What do you think of Deleon (considering its ~ $30 now)? P.S. - I just ordered Fortaleza and G4 as I want to try some higher rated blancos!
Good vid man. I drink tequila but want to slow down and start to drink them for their distinct flavors. I'm going tequila tasting in a couple of months looking forward to it.
Thanks for the awesome review, my favorite so far has be the Jose Cuervo Reserva. Time to try the other...:) Especially the Grand Mayan, the ceramic bottle will look sweet on my shelf.
Well if it was one of the old red foil topped ones I'd say definitely, but since I haven't had any of the newer releases it's hard to say. I do know around me they sell for $130-$150 so $90 for one might not be too bad. I will say that Alain Royer has been involved in many "high profile" barrel maturation projects, so I do have faith in his abilities to take a spirit to a different level. Cheers!
Love tequila, and am a big fan of Hornitos Anjo . Very drinkable and affordable , but in the end people drink what they like. Great vidio, keep up the good work.
I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn’t suggesting that the rum inside the bottle acquired any influences from the cedar box but I can assure you the paper labels, ribbons, wooden top and fabric necklace that hangs the medallion definitely absorbed the aromas of the cedar box (I just double checked). So rather than saying any of one those specifics, I just said “the bottle itself” but I did convey that the spirit inside isn’t affected. Listen again at the 21:00 mark. Cheers!
That would be Maestro Dobel Diamond tequila. The bottle their using now has changed from the one I have. Now it's all glass (without the metal base or label) and the wording is embossed on the glass. Cheers!
Thanks dude, for years I bought Jose Cuervo, but no longer. I've drank the El Kim...and the Camerena, so I'll stick with them. But, I may splurge and buy Patron or one of the others for company.
I really like Don Julio,Cabo Wabo,Don Eduardo. All very smooth and doesn't give a alcohol burn. One brand I found years ago was Don Abraham. I can't find it no more !!! Very smooth and tasted great also priced around $35-40 for Reposada & Anejo. Help me find this tequila.
Hey, it's a weird question, but do you do anything to take care of your pallet so you can taste everything there is to taste? For example I've heard smoking can greatly affect your pallet, also coffee though not sure about it, junk food,...do you avoid things like that, at least a couple of days before tasting? :)
Carlos H. Bieberach - Thank you Carlos! Ironically, I just had a friend nab me two of those when he was there last week. I'll have to review the 20 & 25 side by side one day soon. Cheers!
Unfortunately I did not have the appreciation of tequila at that time like I do now. So I did not savor the flavor as I should have. There was a restaurant/tequila bar in Roseville, CA. called Tres Agave who sold it by the shot. In doing so they engrave your name on a plaque and place it on the "1800 Wall". It was a celebration of a friend's 1st Pro boxing victory - a $700 toast! Since the store closed, they moved our plaques to the location in San Fran. So I will eventually try it again.
Thanks for the recommendations! Though it will be a while until I get them... I just spent close $700 to get Casa Dragones, Bacardi reserva limitada, Zaya, and Ron Zacapa. Thanks for all your videos, especially the ultra premium tastings... I always wondered what some of them would taste like, but if I had them I don't think I could bring myself to open them!
Good morning, any reviews on hi end rums ? like the Papa Andres, El Dorado 25 years, Don Pancho 30 years and the Diplomatico Ambassador ? thanks Carlos
I was surprised not to see a bottle of Corralejo Reposado on your table there! I'm guessing you don't favor that one as much. Corralejo is in my taste one of the most highest quality Reposados you can get for under 50 bucks. I find that Corralejo and Cabo Wabo chilled have almost the same exact taste. I also have fairly any experience with Tequilas though. Just my input! I enjoy your videos.
Thank you! I feel it’s a nice dessert style tequila (meaning they add a bit of sweetener to it). So if you like a port, sherry, or madeira as an after dinner drink, this is in that vein. Cheers!
Waiting for your next upload :) Just got for my self a bottle of Jose Cuervo Reserva De La Familia. (With the box and everything) Got my friend who was travelling to US bring back one for me. Price a bit steep though, USD160.
Hey Can you recommend a good but inexpensive Canadian Whiskey? and would you consider doing a video on canadian whiskey? what can you recommend within 20 to 30 dollars?
Piggy-backing off the tres generaciones... I just bought the reposado (havent cracked it open yet). Do you have a recommendation for a tequila big on fresh agave flavor that is also smooth? (price being a non-issue)
+degmar - I'm not sure, but there's. better values to be had (like Herencia Mexicana, Tapatio, Corralejo, Casadores & Orgullo). If you can swing a tad more, ArteNOM and Fortaleza are worth buying. Cheers!
I'm headed to Cabo in a few weeks. Are there any bottles there that would be cheaper than here? If you had to pick 2 bottles, what would they be? Thanks.
Well that all depends on which style you enjoy (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, or Extra Añejo). I usually prefer Extra Añejos, so I'd recommend Don Cayo or Cava de Oro. Regardless, I'd recommend you go by "Tequila Town" (in downtown) and ask for "JP" (Juan Paublo). He's an extremely knowledgeable guy, with an amazing collection in his shop. He also lets you taste most of his bottles before you decide to buy. There's also a little gift shop in the Mall by the Marina (I can't remember the name), but it was on the right as you went in (from the street) and they had some really nice prices on a few bottles. Have a great time and cheers!
I just asked my friend about a tequila we had at a bar in NYC. Can't figure out what it was. I was blown away that it could be tequila. very very smooth compared to patron silver. Any guesses? it was medium priced. I think it was clear from what i remember.
PS PS (lol-) When I say "fair priced" I mean as "Fair priced" as alcohol can get. Of course any bottle you pick up always requires a little money. I'm wondering if you'll do a "Tres Agaves" review. I picked up it for about 34 bucks, and have heard some nice things about it. It's gonna be a slow sipper for me.
+MrDbcooper456 - If it's the older tall bottles with the metal labels, they're tasty! If it's the newer squatty bottles, they're not as good, but they're serviceable (especially in cocktails). Cheers!
+gviola90 - I think the old Maestro Dobel Diamond with the metal base made a great mixer. Unfortunately, those are hard to find, so I'd say Tapatio Reposado or Blanco or the Puro Verde Blanco (or the "Puro One Ten" if you need the abv boost) are all great if they're in your area. Now if you're making a premium top shelf, the Roca Patron's are right up their with Fortaleza's and I think they're more nationally available. See my Roca Patron review video here: czcams.com/video/PLZMmSCzGRE/video.html Cheers!
Please keep up with the tequila reviews. I can tell you have a true passion with this! Keep it up.
aaron vandereyk - Thank you! I just reviewed the Cazadores line yesterday. I hope you enjoy the video. Cheers!
Cheers.
Camarena is my favorite low priced tequila. it has a warm sweet after taste when you chase it with lime and salt! love it!
Love his pronunciation , it's so important to say the names correctly , beautiful video :)

One of my favorite tequilas is "Centenario" añejo. It's around $35.
Pinche tequila corriente

any chance in the comments you could write out the names of the top 5 there my friend...

it would be nice if you said how much you paid for each bottle. otherwise a great vid
Where is Milagro ?
Great video. Hope you'll consider doing a comparison between mezcal and tequilas for someone who is starting to explore these spirits. Thanks for all of your videos as they have been a great complement to my whiskey experience.
super interesting...waou!! se la comio!! Muy Buena la informacion

Paradiso....HANDS DOWN...I was shocked at its smooth and rich flavor....aged in Cognac barrels!
Paradiso for the WIN
This weekend, we drank Camarena repasado and Corralejo Blanco. Both were very good.
Hey can you do an up to date or another top 5 or top 10 tequilas, thanks in advance
Great job! My classics are pueblo viejo and San matias gran reserva. Must try.
Ricardo Gutierrez price on those 2 tequilas?
Jesus F. 40-50
Much appreciated. Very valuable information.
Thanks a lot for the video I just getting in to tequila and am really enjoying it. I think you have just expanded my shopping list
My new favorite is El Charro!
That Cuervo Anejo (4th from the left) was an AMAZING sip. I had didn't understand how good it was at the time but it is absolutely the best tequila I have ever found.

You were wondering why the Maestro Dobel Diamond is a light color is because it's the original cristalino so it's been filtered.

Caza Noble ROCKS.

Thank you, I saw you talking about the Centenario 20 years, here in Miami, Florida I saw the Centenario 25 years, just to let you know, regards
Carlos H. Bieberach - Thank you Carlos! Ironically, I just had a friend nab me two of those when he was there last week. I'll have to review the 20 & 25 side by side one day soon. Cheers!
Have you did a review over the Avion 44 tequila
I have not but I’ll see what I can do. Cheers!

Paradiso extra Anejo! It’s complex but it’s pretty smooth
You should try tapatio is the most famous tequila in mexico its even better than patron..
Abataly Valadez cual de los 3? Blanco, Añejo o reposado? Gracias
Thanks for the recommendations! Though it will be a while until I get them... I just spent close $700 to get Casa Dragones, Bacardi reserva limitada, Zaya, and Ron Zacapa. I really enjoyed this review.
What do u think of the riazul brand? I love the blanco and heard great thing about the others
A bit late but have you tried the partida Anejo? If so how would you compare it to the reposado? Thanks again 👍
I was surprised not to see a bottle of Corralejo Reposado on your table there! I'm guessing you don't favor that one as much. I’ve been drinking the a Burdeos for a while..... amazing.
Love your channel. Where do you put Clase Azul Reposado?
Thank you! I feel it’s a nice dessert style tequila (meaning they add a bit of sweetener to it). So if you like a port, sherry, or madeira as an after dinner drink, this is in that vein. Cheers!
Oh and also, you have my favorite channel! As well as the one who I most envy!
What is your evaluation of Centennario Añejo?
how does the Jose Cuervo 2015 Reserva De la Familia fall into this range? I love that tequila, but looking to branch out to even better ones
Can you recomend tequilas to buy as collectibles to start off
Waiting for your next upload :)
Just got for my self a bottle of Jose Cuervo Reserva De La Familia. (With the box and everything)
Got my friend who was travelling to US bring back one for me. Price a bit steep though, USD160.
Hey Can you recommend a good but inexpensive Canadian Whiskey? and would you consider doing a video on canadian whiskey? what can you recommend within 20 to 30 dollars?
This guy is a legend. Thank you for these videos.
Have you tried the Don Julio 70th anniversary anejo? The color on it is very light.... I haven't picked it up...$60 price tag.
Have you tries Casa Dragones?
musicwatchquattro wayyyyyyy to expensive for what it ofers.
Do you have a recommendation for a sipper that is smooth and is big on a fresh agave flavor?
What about 1942 Don Julio? That is my favorite!
great job Texan
Tequila in middle East is very expensive especially for 100% Agave Tequila. My favorite is don julio, Herradura, El Jimador and Patron.
ever had herradura? my favorite tequila also I love 1800!
Its on my list to try n which one thou
Sounds like the drink I've been looking for.
What do you recommend as a good beginner tequila, my price range is anything as long as its not too much over $100. ?
Can't believe Cava de Oro Extra Anejo Tequila didn't make your list.
Piggy-backing off the tres generaciones... I just bought the reposado (havent cracked it open yet). Do you have a recommendation for a tequila big on fresh agave flavor that is also smooth? (price being a non-issue)
At least two of those low budget are made using diffusers. It kills the heart of the agave. And product differs from traditional clay oven.
5:06 - is Cabo Wabo still any good, after it was bought out by Campari?
+degmar - I'm not sure, but there's. better values to be had (like Herencia Mexicana, Tapatio, Corralejo, Casadores & Orgullo). If you can swing a tad more, ArteNOM and Fortaleza are worth buying. Cheers!
LiquorHound how much do Fortaleza set you back? Which of these Fortaleza tequila would you recomend? Blanco? Reposado or ahejo?
I'm headed to Cabo in a few weeks. Are there any bottles there that would be cheaper than here? If you had to pick 2 bottles, what would they be? Thanks.

LiquorHound wow thank you so much for the great suggestions
I don't see your review on casamigos variants. I heard good reviews on this tequila.
Don Julio 1942!!!!
Have mercy, YES!
RIP money
this video made me want to bust open my Casa Noble Extra Anjeo. Is your Noble a 375Ml or 750Ml?
Thanks, mate! I'll be giving those a shot- pun intended.
I just asked my friend about a tequila we had at a bar in NYC. Can't figure out what it was. I was blown away that it could be tequila. very very smooth compared to patron silver. Any guesses? it was medium priced. I think it was clear from what i remember.
I'm not sure. See if you can look up their bar list online, and hopefully one of the listed Tequilas will jog your memory. Good luck and cheers!
He said anejo . Yes that's what he's doing cheers
Well if you find out, let us know what brand it was. Cheers!
It's gonna be a slow sipper for me.
have you ever tried tres generaciones?
+Big Dawg - It was a solid line and the old embossed black bottle añejo was a favorite of mine in the late 90's. Cheers!
Big Dawg try 7 Leguas it is wayyyyy better.
👍
what do you think of the Espolon Blanco , in my area it's 19 bucks
+MrDbcooper456 - If it's the older tall bottles with the metal labels, they're tasty! If it's the newer squatty bottles, they're not as good, but they're serviceable (especially in cocktails). Cheers!
+LiquorHound Why is it that most of the time the older version of whatever bottles are always better? any new bottles of old brands that better?
Great video...what tequila would you say is the best for making cocktails such as margaritas?
+gviola90 - I think the old Maestro Dobel Diamond with the metal base made a great mixer. Unfortunately, those are hard to find, so I'd say Tapatio Reposado or Blanco or the Puro Verde Blanco (or the "Puro One Ten" if you need the abv boost) are all great if they're in your area. Now if you're making a premium top shelf, the Roca Patron's are right up their with Fortaleza's and I think they're more nationally available. See my Roca Patron review video here: czcams.com/video/PLZMmSCzGRE/video.html Cheers!
+LiquorHound thanks! I have seen the one with the metal bottom...may I ask what is the difference?
How can he have a clean palate without rinsing his mouth between spirits?
Robby Gunn, Tequilas are the only liquors that can do that to you! They give distinct tastes for each sipping.
How is Fortaleza not making any of your lists? 😰
Well it has now, but these were old videos before they were really available around me. Cheers!
