  • This is a short video which shows how I weave in my ends as I change colours. I use this technique when I join the contrasting yarn for the toes of my self-striping socks. I am by no means a professional knitter, nor do I have all of the equipment to do I high quality tutorial video but I help this helps give you an idea of the technique.

    Thank you SO much for showing this! When I do mine, I would normally knit with the tail and the new yarn, but that only worked when I use the same color, and had the disadvantage of having a few stitches that were bigger than the rest. I love this, and will be trying it next time i join a color!

    I don't see how this could be more professionally done, this is just fab except for the crashing sound and a bit low volume. I am in process of using up my stash of Paton classic wools and some I hand dyed and the ends are discouraging and a real problem when you do a lot of changes so this is just wonderful. Your video and voice teaching technique the best!

I watched many videos and read a lot of stuff and just couldn’t get anything I really liked. Very well explained tutorial Christina, thanks a lot!I knew the first part but not the second, really clever help! If you would do that on a shawl or flat object, would you do the old color at the beginning of the WS row and the tail for the new at the end of the WS row?Love your podcast!

      Dunja Witt on a shawl I weave in the old colour as I am knitting the first row of the new. Then I weave in the new colour either as I come back on the WS or on the next RS row depends on my mood. On my tamdou I did it on the next RS

    BAD AUDIO. Would much appreciate it if you would REDO this video. TIPS: When you tape a knitting video use GIANT needles, SUPER BULKY yarn, CONTRASTING background, & CONTRASTING yarn colors. I have no idea what I was watching. Remember that there will always be BEGINNERS trying to learn.

    • @cherylsmakes
      @cherylsmakes Před 5 lety +1

      Joan HAMLIN there is absolutely nothing wrong with this audio. perhaps the issue is with your device. as far as using GIANT yarn for this tutorial, I think the video is close enough that it is very clear and the fact that she took the time to make this video is generous enough I don’t think she needs to create a new project when she can use the one she’s working on especially when it’s as clear as this is. try being thankful when people take time from their day to do something like this it is not required of them to do this! geez how ungrateful and rude
