I love the respect you demonstrated when you first knelt beside your harvest! None of the "look at these horns!",, or "that's what we were after, a ??? size rack!". You demonstrated the sadness of having to take the life of an animal, to provide life for yourself, and your family. That's as how it should be,, always!

Tony Thomas yes,, I did notice that,, and I appreciate the size of the rack,, but for me, the respect given to any animal harvested is what is of the most importance. A large rack is just icing on the cake!
@@ncoutdooradventures6148 Ive found that once you have killed your elk and located it is when you realize how far it is to the truck and how big even a little elk is. I know I shot a couple that were so far from the road. Youi start to ask yourself why did I shoot that.

I am 61yrs and for what ever reason have never elk hunted, but have done more than my share of quality white tail deer hunting, maybe that's why. Anyway thankyou, i enjoyed the hunt

I always look forward to watching you and the THP crew on the Arizona hunts each winter for us up here in Michigan and every time I watch these videos I wish I was twenty years younger and listened to my parents and friends to not get married and too go hunting and fishing and have fun. I've watched a lot of elk hunting videos but I don't recall anyone walking at an 'elk pace' as a strategy when closing distance. Maybe because you were so close you knew he could probably hear you walking? That call in was awesome! Absolute bare minimum calling. Well made video.

As long as you make a good shot a blood trail isn’t that important as long as you don’t bump it. Bc I had a big 6x6 bull not have single drop of blood drop and it was a double lung

Nice to see another hunter showing affection, respect and love to the animal after its death. These animals suffer and die so that we can eat its only right to give them a little tribute.
This was my first year elk hunting in Southern oregon me and my friend were on a nice 6x6 then it went onto private land we went back the next morning and someone illegally took it that night, I will be back at it again next year hopefully ill get mine then

I’m not a bow hunter. I’m a rifle hunter. I enjoy the hunt a bow hunter gets to get his game but I don’t like the way a bow kills. For two reasons one he can survive a while after getting arrowed and second he walks down hill afterwards and that means hauling his meat back up the hill. Lol. Good video nice hunt.
