*What happens if Sweden and Finland do the same ?*
Russia will be surrounded by NATO easily and in the near future it is 35 km away to hit Moscow, Meanwhile US and the West sitting far away enjoying their meal while Russia indulged in war with its former Soviet Union members suffers attack from all sides , If West didn't started it's expansion on Europe the war didn't even need to be started.

Geopolitics should work on National interest and not on Herogiri. Chatrapati shivaji maharaj has a strong courage but he always keep interest of the people. He even choose to sign deal agreement in diplomatic way to keep situations normal and did not show unnecessary aggression. But showed right kind of aggression after normalizing the situation.
