I agree with you and regarding the UAE dilution, it would have been great for UAE to acquire their 20% from the open market, rather than dilution due to NIO needing the cash for “going concern” but that is now in our rear view mirror. To this end, Nio need to breakeven in good time to avoid the potential for needing more cash injection. If they are finally profitable, any such ownership should/would be acquired from the open market. Hopefully we breakeven Q4 2024. The entire Middle East market it’s huge and I hope NIO captures a good slice of that. Fingers crossed 🤞

Population of Germany is 80 mln, gdp per capita 43k usd. Population of uae is 10 mln, gdp per capita 54k usd. Population of Shanghai is 30 mln, gdp per capita 25k usd. So, no extraordinary result should be expected from uae itself with nios current distribution model. Unless, nio switch to dealership model and work with current dealers as well since Dubai is REGIONAL HUB FOR RE-EXPORT!
Battery swap stations are tailor made for the middle east because of the heat and the fact that most don't pump their own gas...especially ones that are rumored to charge the batteries using solar panels. Being able to send the vehicle off to get it's own battery swapped is also being overlooked and not given its proper due in my opinion because no one in the middle east is going to accept sitting around for an hour for the battery to charge. The vehicles will do very well there which will be the icing on the cake.

I can't understand why Nio is attempting global expansion without establishing market dominance. Nio's average deliveries are barely exceeding its peers, but they are spending over 700 million each quarter and have many Nio houses in costly locations, which seems like a costly marketing approach. If Nio allocated that money towards extensive marketing efforts instead of spending it on Nio houses and Nio life. I do like the idea of the Nio house but perhaps consider that when you're a big player in the game. That's my opinion.

I certainly agree that Nio should have waited before expanding into Europe but I also wonder if its prudent to expand into the UAE this soon (notwithstanding CYVN's $3B investment) given that the Chinese market is still in its infancy and capital resources are limited. What are the projected sales of Nio EVs in the UAE? While I certainly understand that competition in the UAE is much lower and margins will be higher, the UAE has a total population of only about ten million which may mean that profits there will not be material to Nio's overall bottom line, especially given the capital expenditures necessary to build there. I guess my hesitance is one of timing rather than viability.
I wonder if there are many EV’s being sold in the middle east, after all they have their wealth thanks to their oil supply. Gasoline should be very cheap there. So in other words, if there are countries who’d benefit from EV’s not breaking through, it’s them. My personal tought is they took such a big percentage in the company to counter there potential loss in oil business, either way they will make money whatever happens. I think UAE needs some Grid stabilization for the futur as they develop more and more New énergies. So i think they need swap station.
