      He was offered a role as trainer and he refused it because he wanted to be on the boat. It's sport, hard decisions need to be made. Steve Hansen dropped Israel Dagg for the RWC in 2017 because his form wasn't good enough and Dagg took it like a champ came back and fought his way back into the team. Given the outcome of the 35th America's Cup, I'd say that Dalton has been more than vindicated.
