- Well everyone, it's been a long time coming for me to start posting legitimate videos on this channel and to me there's no better way to start than by talking about the entire reason I'm even here in the first place. By talking about Sonic! I'm really happy with how the video turned out so I hope you guys enjoy it too. More videos coming soon!

Yooo i didn’t expect this video to get the traction it did but either way thank you everyone for watching! I’ve been seeing a few comments on the free DLC updates for this game and I’m very much aware about them (especially since this video was kinda outdated in a few ways because of update 2). So whenever update 3 comes out I’ll make a follow up video on all the changes made to the game because that in itself warrants a revisit to the game. Either way I’m glad everyone’s been enjoying it. New video should be out this week.

I think youtube is messing around with their algorithm because I've seen this sentiment from several youtubers recently. Random video game review videos have been appearing in everyone's recommended despite the amount of number of subs on a channel. It's pretty neat.

The 2nd update adding the ability to turn off jump deceleration singlehandedly made the game go from good to great for me

The soundtrack is amazing, but I love the fact that you can also add other Sonic songs to your playlist to jam out to at any time.
The reason the Parry doesn't have timing is because of the play testers. Kishimoto revealed the playtesters were so bad at the game he was forced to remove the timing restriction. He's acknowledged our feedback 😁 n the issue though so hopefully Update 3 will address it in some fashion.

@@maxspecs that doesn’t mean that there can’t be some balancing, the parry could function where you press the buttons and the parry lasts for a few seconds then deactivates, that way it’s not super easy to just hold it and win but there’s still some room for error

You don't need a drift in cyberspace. A cool feature in this game is that if you stop boosting and immediately boost again, you can change Sonic's direction immediately. You don't need Sonic to turn where you want him to when he can immediately change direction.
I feel like that should be a thing going forward. Sonic should always be able to change direction on a dime.

I wouldn't mind the cyberspace levels being the same as old levels... if they hadn't _just_ done that with Generations, and again in Forces a few years later. Its too soon.
I'm glad the third dlc is gonna help improve the third act of the story

Let's hear your thoughts on update 1 and 2
(as i’m sure you know) they added jump momentum in a recent update and it’s a game changer. it was fun before to traverse but now it’s even better. I have a lot of complaints about frontiers, but if they refine what they have here we can have a genuinely great game on our hands. not JUST by Sonic standards, an actual great game. i’m hyped 🙏
Now we have spindash and more momentum. Sonic adventure 3 can be real for the next main line game

Oh also the funny thing about shark is that the QTE doesn't even need to be timed, you can literally hold down the direction of the L stick if you memorized the pattern and it'll still function properly, making it a lot easier
birthday update allowing you to remove the jump deceleration AND deceleration in general had me goin crazy in the open zone
If you want harder S ranks play on Extreme difficulty, it makes some of them much tighter
I know about extreme mode it’s cool but I feel like the game should’ve made you work for the S ranks more on lower difficulties because as they are they’re way to easy except for 1-2. They didn’t all have to be crazy hard but they should’ve had some sort of challenge to getting them.

The parry is for the handicapped probably because you just... Tap it and it's a timed parry automatically 😅 And the best boss is Ashura because you can loop his feetsies and get 2 gears and a 3rd for defeating him.

You no longer lose your speed when you jump! Birthday update has a setting you can change that now! They keep improving this game and I love it!! I’m going through my second play through on my Switch now lmao

One suggestion is I would add a compressor to your audio track, it seems to get really loud then a bit too quiet at times but might just be me lol
Thanks for the feedback man! This was my first shot at ever making a video so I had some issues getting the audio to be how I wanted but as I keep making more it’ll get a lot better

Cyberspace doesn't feel like how i remember Sonic playing, but rather some guy's weird interpretation of what Sonic should play like, which is funny because i still think it's fun.

Editing was amazing. Comedy was actually funny and didn’t feel forced. That Etika pop off clip had me popping off and then sad, but still hopeful bc he fr would’ve been that way had he’d been able to see this. All in all, banger of a video man. Looking forward to supporting throughout it all

ok nice review. But have you seen the Options? You've talked about gimped jump - there a slider for that (jump decelration), and the small cutscenes for special attacks - you can turn it off. (Although these options were added after Update 2)
If you haven't noticed, it says LONG awaited review meaning it's before the updates.

Honestly I feel like if parry was called blocking instead no one would be complaining nearly as much. I feel like it was the right call though. Knowing sonic team and its "jankiness" a proper parry would have never worked and caused more frustration in players than an easy to perform one.
Great video by the way, it's never too late to review a game in my opinion not everyone has to enjoy things when they come out

The spin dash bypasses the 2d speed limit, not a real fix but it’s a lot of fun to use in some of those stages.

Questions what did you think about the third update and have you played sonic superstars
sonic and knuckles was the last good game... and then, today, i found a video of Eggman talking to a girl in cyberspace, his AI daughter... that was a completely touching scene. I have to play this game now.. that was just beautifully executed.
The true final boss on hard mode absolutely pissed me off and almost ruined the entire game as a whole for me
Imagine my face when I didn't get any final boss because I wasn't playing on hard mode. I felt really dissatisfied. I'm glad to know now there is at least SOMETHING if you play hard mode, but it definitely does not live up to what the game story-wise and gameplay-wise was building up to.
So this should be good for my soon to be 7 year's Birhtday next week

I think the challenges being easy is okay, for me helps to dont kill the gane flow, you just explore fast, do here a little thing fast and dont get into it to much time and then just keep moving..
Still yeah, most of time requirements should be more demanding, not only the challenges but for the cyberscape too, that just would be the best thing to make something hard in a sonic game but still dont kill the flow.. (imagine if you have to stop all your movement to start thinking and trying things to complete something, would be like cmon, this is sonic let me go fast and keep moving, this aint zelda.

Honestly? Gotta agree with everything said. It's got its flaws, but what the slapped on? They slapped HARD.
I haven't enjoyed a sonic game this much since generations, and i still play it to this day occasionally.
It's my personal favorite sonic as it takes what I disliked but cpuld see merit for in Unleashed, fixes it, then takes some ideas I think should've been a thing forever and adds them in well. It's a 9.5/10 game for me.. i want to give it a 10 so bad, but Supreme just isnt poleihed enough to warrant it. Otherwise.. I have 30 hours in one playthrough, all achievements, and still just like to goof around. It may be a gltichy mess at points.. but its MY gltichy mess. I like it.
The boss fights are what carried this game so highly for me.. i havent had so much with a boss fight in forever.
ALSO DONT FORGET EACH UPDATE CHUNK, they added more content and fixed other problems i had such as the spindash or momentum.. gotta increase the rating for that if you ask me.
