I think Travis Scott is one of the most creative autotune user/vocal. Some artists either using it for "hype" voice or faking their own vocal range. But Travis's autotune method in these two songs are carefully strategized for the vibe that his team(S/O to Mike Dean, Kevin Parker, John Mayer) trying to create. And that direction hit me hard. It made me think about the artistic virtue of the autotune vocal. I know there's still many people who don't agree with the idea of this kind of vocal. But I gotta respect Travis for this performance though.

Fair comment. When autotune used correctly with skills it sounds good. The negative side is untalented people with no vocal skills lack of music knowledge and them hype mcs and rappers that are shit and hide there poor talent behind autotune.

It's a left over habit from when he used to perform acoustically. A lot of acoustic artists do it because you have to use your whole body to keep time when you don't have a band. Then when you get a band you keep doing it out of habit even though now you have a drummer to help keep you in the pocket. I know because im also an acoustic artist

Because the Super Bowl has never cared about music, that's why all you ever see is fucking lackluster medley's of "hit songs" so that the crowd can clap like fucking idiots and go "hooweeeee i know dis song i heawd dis on the wadio". There has never been a good Super Bowl halftime show, not Travis, not even Prince. The Super Bowl doesn't have the attention span to build a song to a climax the way that both Astrothunder and Skeletons works their way into the hypnotic endings.
