    I just visited Maxant and bought the same bottling tank and I bought the wax cappings spinner. I should have bought them years ago. I love Maxant's products.

    Yes sir brother I have a tank just like that and I've been using it for two years now and it works flawlessly. And the pale holder is a must-have. I purchased an automatic bottling machine that I hope to start utilizing next year. Thanks for sharing my friend.

      Yes I really like this thing! Not to the level of an automatic bottler yet but compared to how I have done it for the past several years this Maxant tank is a game changer for sure!

    I drove a 12 hour loop last Saturday to pick up a maxant 20 frame extractor and a 42 gallon bottling tank with the blender mixer. Expensive, but good equipment. Planning to get a hydraulic lift table at harbor freight to set the bottler on. Lower to fill with pails, raise to bottle.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety

      Sounds like a great plan. I have the 20 frame extractor and love it. Maybe will get a lift for the bottler but not that advanced yet🙂. Really don’t have room for the bigger bottling tank but maybe someday! Right now the 16 gallon one is working well. I’m sure driving there saved some significant money on shipping! They really get you with that. Did you get the pail perch? I found that I really needed it and am glad I ordered it even though shipping was ridiculous. The blender mixer sounds like a good idea too. I would also love to have the filter. Thanks for checking in!

      @@brucesbees I found them both on Facebook Marketplace used. Saved about 40% over new price. Bottler came with two pail perches, the no drop valve, and the blender mixer. It was more machine than I was looking for but it was a very good deal.

    Bruce, it’s great to hear from you! I was just wondering a couple of days ago how you and Rusty faired all of the rain from the storms? I saw were there was a lot of bridges damaged in Geneva county. Your warming bottler looks really nice. I normally bottle in pint and quart jars and plan on getting away from that next year. I only try to keep about 7 or 9 hives so I only harvest 2 or 3 hundred pounds. Where did you say that you buy your bottles? Thanks for the video.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for checking in. We both did fine as far as I know. Believe it or not Geneva County got hit harder than us even though they are just a few miles Southwest of us. I get my bottles from Sailor Plastics and have for many years. Yes the bottling tank is awesome. Game changer fir sure.

    • @brucesbees

      At Sailor Plastics when you click on the bottles there is usually a box that pops up for you to select lids.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety +2

      You can buy them at different places. Just google powerblanket lite or 5 gallon heating blanket. I think you will be able to find them that way.

  • @dannyjohnston4550
    @dannyjohnston4550 Před 3 lety

    Hi Bruce, enjoy your videos, really like your warming bottler. I wanted to ask you if you ever have the problem of your honey crystalizing in the bottle before you sell it, if so, how do you combat this. I've been beekeeping about 5 years in Southern Indiana, really enjoy the hobby.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety +1

      The way I combat it is to store it in 5 gallon buckets and then decrystallize it before I bottle it up. I only bottle up enough to stay ahead of demand. I used the powerblanket for years but finally but the bullet and bought the tank. It works perfectly. You can control the temp and warm it up just enough to decrystallize the honey. They also have a band you can put around the bucket that does the job. I have never used one of those. The only issue with the powerblanket is that there might be a thin layer on the bottom of the bucket that does not decrystallize.
      Hope this helps.

    Nice video Bruce. I would love to buy one of these bottling tanks, but the $1200 price tag does not warrant my 5 roof top hives lol 🙄

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety

      Yes probably not. We have bottled up thousands of bottles of honey the old fashioned way. This purchase was finally justified. I think it will last me for many years to come.

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety +1

      No. I work full-time as well. I make a little but not enough to replace my salary. I put most of the money I make back into the bees and equipment etc. I might make more of a profit now that I have most of the equipment I need.

      @@brucesbees yeah I understand I was just wondering how many hives 1 guy could do and make a living thanks

    • @brucesbees
      @brucesbees  Před 3 lety

      I don’t know. I am guessing in my case I would need 400 or 500 hives minimum to make a decent living but it really depends on how much you need to make and what you choose to do with your bees. I am still learning for sure. I’m sure some are much more efficient than me. Thanks for checking in. Great question!

    Maxant makes great equipment I love my electric honey spinner even though it cost a grand. I’m getting the uncapping tank next. I just wish they didn’t pass the shipping on to the customer after all you are spending enough for them to ship it to you for free.
