I feel like a future version could use a trigger connected to a motor and a manually activated switch that would alternate gears for faster or slower rate of fire. And maybe a box magazine to store the belt so it won't dangle around.
Now you have to engineer a quick load mechanism! Maybe something that uses a funnel, a motorized agitator, and automatically feeds the belt through only when the thing gets loaded. It's probably more complicated than that but it would be an excellent challenge!
you could totally make a lego m249 or 240 with this which would be really cool like since the gear with a motor will hold it up you can have a belt instead of a full loop
I made one similar to this a while back but it kept jamming, i think it was because I didn’t use the light gray technic pieces you used as I don’t have any, is there any substitute for them?
It might be useless, but could you add a trigger mechanism that pushes the firing mechanism down, so you can spin it up to speed and fire short bursts. There are probably many more ways to do that, but I think it would be cool
It shouldn’t be too difficult to add a button as a trigger connected to a motor and battery box to make it feel more like a gun… the button where a trigger would be, the battery box could be along the bottom of the barrel or stored inside a shoulder stock, and the motor obviously to power the belt… maybe add a box to store a long belt too and with a stock it’d make sense to extend the barrel a bit to add room to stabilize with your other hand
I feel like a revolver would be really cool, and the auto turning mechanism could be fun to create (I don't have any experience with this type of lego building). It would also make it less time consuming to reload, considering only 6 shots.

Cool but, lego pieces are expensive so, when you shoot a lot of lego pieces as bullets you can loose them and theres when te fun totally end. It would be cool if this gun supports as bullets something you just simply grab from the floor

@@JustAutistic You can't exactly implement targeting software on Lego motors. You can set it as a turret and have a controller though.

I feel like you could make a semi auto version, that uses a magazine and a trigger that pulls down on the bolt. Kinda like a pistol
I tried making something very similar, but I gave up before solving the stability issues with the launcher belt mounts.
