Getting my blue belt in the top 5 proudest moments of my life. I have two kids and a great wife which occupy slots 1-3
Yes sir!!!!! 100%

Afraid they might see this, eh? XD

5. Whatâs left?!?
3 stripe white belt here, and im kinda nervous about getting a blue belt. Im the kinda guy who likes to fly under the radar
Don't even worry. If you keep going to the gym it's just a matter of time no matter how low you want to fly under the radar. If your instructor gives it to you, it really means that you earned it.
It feels good at the beggining, but the only thing that's going to change is the color of your belt. The struggle, the joy and the little frustrations, will stay the same.
Getting my blue belt meant more than graduating university. My classes became a joke as I went into education from history and geography. It was a total let down, nothing meant anything because everyone got an A, no matter what.
Fighting every class for two years, through the pain, the injuries, balancing and changing life to make Jiu Jitsu more of a priority, and then getting my blue belt was a huge moment for me.
Now I want a purple belt.
How u doing now, still at it?
@@mattrange2126 working on my purple belt. Hopefully this year
@@openwaters2988 Thatâs great that youâre still straining. Iâm currently working towards my blue, any pointers of how to develop the skill to be a blue?
@@mattrange2126 just work. Go at often as possible. I did 6am classes to fit my schedule for a while. Very grateful to my professor for doing that for me. It's slow right now. We've had a lot of restrictions, interruptions, and I've been injured for quite a while so my progress has slowed. Just have to keep at it.
@@openwaters2988 Thanks man, if thereâs one thing I have learnt so far is that consistency is key.
Took me 2 years to get my blue belt, but was one of the most unexpected and prettiest moments ever!!!
I needed that, cant wair to go back after new years! Oss
Professor McHugh is fantastic. My whole family trains at his gym, and he promoted me to blue belt last November. Amazing experience. Professor Ricardo Almeida just gave him a second stripe on his black belt the other week. So pumped for my professor!
Thank you so much brother. I'm a while belt. Looking forward to my blue with more dedication and responsibility that comes with this. Lol I do like the color purple đ when that happens I'm in this for long term. I have to keep this in mind. " the most important person is the white belt " who come though those doors. Oss.
I can't wait to get my blue belt. Training 3-5 times a week and watching more tape should get me within 3 years of training.
Same bro! 3 years work. Oss
Itâs never too late to be a savage. Glad you guys are embracing your bjj journey, oss.
Try going every day for the rest of your life. đđ»
@@jackostripes5452, thatâs a lofty goal. I would love to, but when you start getting older, the toll on your body starts to factor in. You always need to take some time to recover.
Iâve been doing the same. Iâve been training 5-6 times a week. My professor says that I should be a blue belt and that Iâm at that level. But I feel like Iâm on the veil or literally on the line between white belt and blue belt. But still, that promotion is gonna feel so good. And when we get just know you made it to the level where 90% of people donât make it. Youâll be in the 10% and soon (probably by now) the less than 1%(black belt).
Great video.
Took 10 years to get my black belt :) I am so proud of getting it. That was a children dream to get a black belt but i didnt know it would be so hard and take so long time haha
Got my purple belt a month ago..very intimidating
Howâs it going?
I hear you. I feel like i have a big target on my back now lol. However, to put a spin on the spider man quote, " with great responsibility comes great power".
I just got my grey white belt itâs so cool and I love the belt
I just got my purple belt this past Saturday - everything in this video rings true. While I was super excited to get my blue belt and out of my white belt, I hope I can live up to the purple belts who came before me! Getting this purple belt and making it out of blue belt (over 4 years), ranks up there above getting a masters degree in personal achievements.
Thanks for sharing. Biggest goal for 2021 is to get my final 3 stripes and level up to blue belt. It's something amazing to watch at our grading evenings.
2 months left, how close are you to your goal?
@@grimdorkfuture I took sometime off this year to reset and decompress so will be pushing for this in 2022.
@@ShaunVictor2507 best of luck, rest is conducive to your goal, so it sounds like youâre still on track. Better to intentionally delay it than risk an injury and be out of action. Let the good times roll, as they say!
@@grimdorkfuture thanks Luke.
@@grimdorkfuture get it?
Oss!
Blue belt is around the corner for me.
Happy new year everyone
@@jamie777x IT;S WHEN every higher belt avoid to roll with you in front of class
it's comin !!! happy new year mate , back on the matt monday , ive been IRON WOLF ,All december , they gonna see the Beast
hi all. I really want to get into bjj. Are there classes or training recommendations with covid in place?
Are the BJJ places open where you live? As for training with a mask, it's impossible in jiu jitsu. Even if your area requires masks everywhere the BJJ places won't wear it but you have to keep it a secret.
I was a 3 year white Android You're a its not about keeping up with everybody else you get when you are ready Your mind as to be right The 1st time I perceived a blue belt Who is earned through heart and perseverance The 2nd time What special because I proved to myself into my teammates To the Academy that I deserve to be there
My dream to become the best version of myself and to become a world class champion mixed martial artist is going down the drain and Iâd rather die than let it die because i just donât wanna live an empty life. God bless those who care to pray for a broken soul đ€ČđŒđ
Getting a new bjj belt today is just a matter of keep the bills with your academy updated and be present with certain regularity. Just that simple.
Yes...and in the past there were only three belts, white, blue and navy.
The only thing is that "today" the average blue/purple belt is exposed to a glossary of BJJ that is VASTLY bigger than any black belt of the past.
Ive done bjj for 3 years and granted its the tip of the iceberg as far as the game goes and i get what you mean its hard but wrestling in h.s. was harder. Running 3 miles for warm ups , then , running inside with the mats with calisthenics then live wrestling does not compare to 1&1/2 of bjj class. Where u sit and talk and kumbaya . Bjj is awesome and i love it. But hard ? Nah .
Sounds like your school does a crappy warmup. We warm up old school for 30 mins before we even start drilling. Then after drilling we do live rolling.
They do that at your academy? Kumbaya? Dude....sounds like you got into a Mc Dojo. My academy is hard. Warm ups aren't thar tiring, but the rolls r hard. And one gets really tired. Each promotion, stripe, n belts r earned at my academy. Nothing is given.
@@ricardogalindo8794 send invitation , my mc dojo is starting to serve mc burgers after class đ
How the hell do you train? We've been in an extreme lockdown for over 7 months now and will be continuing for the next years or so, where in the world do you have such freedom?
Most my local gyms are open except my actual gym they been close for a while now sucks
