- So I started playing Kingdom Come Deliverance in 2023. This game has been on sale on steam so many times, that i thought i might as well buy it and give it a go. This is Warhorse Studios one and only game, (unless they make Kingdom Come Deliverance 2) and I thought I would check it out.

Glad you corrected yourself there.
The momen you said Hungary i wanted to go full Hussait on your ass and started looking for my vagon.
thanks for reviewing this underrated game, and to think this is warhorse's first game.
I think the ones who invaded are from Hungary, isn't it?
@@apolakigamingandmore6376 Yep but you said the game takes place in Hungary :D
my favourite thing with kcd was the no magic. Not fantasy, but history. Just made it so easy to connect with and understand the world.

@@Blue13GBG12 sure!
Theres the magic of drugs in that one quest with the wannabe witches

I love how amazing all the side quests are. Like take this as an example. I met a gameskeeper for the local lord. He needed help with poachers. In the vast majority of RPGs out there, you would just kill the poachers and be done with it. But in KCD, I met one of them, did some poaching quests to earn their trust and meet the leader. I got them all together in one place. Then I found out that the leader was not just a poacher. He was actually framed for murder by the current gameskeeper, so he was stripped of his position, forced to run away, and lost his own job as the gameskeeper. So then the town guard showed up and surrounded the poachers. I decided to join the poachers and kill the guards, then gathered evidence to prove the poacher leaders innocence. After that, the gang broke apart and the leader and I went to turn ourselves into the lord and present our evidence. He was convinced and ordered the gameskeeper arrested, though he escaped. He pardoned both of us for poaching and then assigned me as the new gameskeeper, meaning when I hunt, it is no longer poaching. The poacher leader left, but the lord put in a word with another lord in a faraway land so he could go work with that lord.
That was a side quest I stumbled upon because I was looking to earn some money.
Holy shit, that is SOO deep lol. Sounds like part of a great novel. 😂
Damn😮 It is currently dirt cheap due to black Friday sales (around €6) so just from reading that and also seeing how immersive the gameplay seems to be, i might actually buy it … thankyou!
I just did. The game with all dlc for under £6
@@dazofengland Same! The game honestly feels like a movie, the cutscenes are actually enjoyable to watch too which adds to it
@FatherDinny yea it looks good tbf
I've played through the game 3 or 4 times. I've sank around 500 hours into it and it's one of the most rewarding games I've ever played. If you're patient, the combat becomes much more natural, especially the archery.
Wow. You have no life
This. Once you get good, you can get goooooood.
I thought the sword combat was too complicated so rather than bitching about it I just went for a stealth n' bow build. Once I got used to not having a crosshair I could basically 1-2 shot just about any NPC in the game regardless of level - so long as I could consistently land headshots.
you seemingly overtyped “patient” as “patientient”
Archery saved my ass so many times I almost felt bad. Aim for the head with a bodkin and the heavily armed bandit is no more.
It´s not set in Hungary but in Czechia mate!

I think the entire point of the tutorial is to encourage players to immediately start engaging with the game and trying to problem solve to escape the castle. Talmberg can be done with in like 15 minutes or so if you actually listen to NPCs like Lady Stephanie and get into the mindset of Henry trying to escape. If you can't even sneak into the very poorly guarded armory for a disguise, you'll be lost if you're allowed to wander off into the full game early.
Exactly. One of the few games that gives you the freedom to finish even the main story quests in whatever way you can concoct. I remember my first time in Talmberg, rather than figuring out how to sneak out the gate like the game suggested, I thought "why don't I just run out the moat?" and it actually worked!
It can actually be done in about ten seconds, if you just think to jump off the drawbridge. I loved how the world design allows and accommodates for that sort of thing.
@@SirKickBanI tried this multiple times because I couldn’t figure out how to escape. Pretty sure the rope blocked my jump so I just assumed the game wouldn’t let me do that. Ended up using the armor disguise.
@@SirKickBani did so and got my legs broken. 5/5 would do again. Not to mention it was by accident lol hahaaa

Its medieval Bohemia actually, the guys speaking Hungarian are Cuman mercenaries from Hungary
As long as youre patient and persistent, combat and archery becomes soo rewarding. You go from thinking the game is just too hard or clunky, to a master of the sword. Such a great game
Combat is boring tho. Just master strike everything
Such a beautiful game, a true historical rpg that should be modeled after. Currently playing through again and enjoying every little detail. This game is meant to be played slow or you’ll miss so much!
I was an original backer of the project back in the day. The studio is filled with ex mafia 1 and 2 developers, the big one being the lead writer which was enough for me to back as those two games are some of my favorite ever based on the writing alone.
It feels like a true RPG, one where you genuinely struggle with Henry in both gameplay and narrative. You are a nobody and it shows, it takes quite a while to get use to the combat where you can actually feel yourself/henry getting better.
The fact you can play the whole game through without henry ever learning to read is just icing on the cake. Very excited for the sequel.
Yea I’m super happy I finally played this title , honestly might be better then skyrim 😮
@@sawmanUKif you enjoy the writing then I definitely highly recommend mafia, specifically 2. Would make a great video probably if you are looking for suggestions.
@@JustSkram I’ve actually been playing mafia as well funnily enough 😹👍
@@JustSkram Definitive Edition as well I suspect?
@@seanverberne9550 No, Mafia 3 and Mafia DE is not made by any of the original Mafia devs.
It is set in medieval Bohemia, or modern-day Czechia.
Simply the best game of this last decade.
RDR2?
I play this game almost every two years, coming back to it every time for the environment, visiting rattay, going to sasau, the forests etc.... I miss these places, which shows the quality of the game, in addition to the many and varied quests and the medieval humor that gets me every time. Probably my favorite game, despite its flaws. the fact that this game is made by independent creators helps a lot, it's refreshing compared to more well-known games.
I liked Oblivion at the time too, but I've never given skyrim a go - the dogon and dragon world is a bit tiresome.
I start a new game at least once a year. I can’t believe I didn’t play this game until 2020
If you can get mods and everything working with mods. Skyrim is really just great. Yes it's adventure in terms of the dragons and mages but there is so much in that game that I will never forget it's the last good Bethesda game.
@@lnstall_Wizard Skyrim is extremely boring and one dimensional
Yeah I enjoyed a lot of base building and house building. Realism mods. You have to make it more fun. You are right though.@@marcgrmn
Loved KCD so much! But I gotta admit that Skyrim was absolutly excellent for me.
I was torn on whether to get this or not. I've been on a medieval kick lately. Your review helped me to decide to get it as it was on sale today. For only $10 I got the royal edition instead of $39.99. Thanks for the review!
No worries , im sure you will enjoy it👍
I actually found that the struggle in the beginning part of the essential experience. I appreciate the growth I experienced as a player along with Henry. From the mot hated lock picking to shooting a bow or even learning how to read. This truly is a pleasant surprise for me in 2024. And so far the most memorable for me this year. I really look forward to the second game now!
I started playing this in June and finished it this month after a recommendation from a friend and honestly I fell in love with it, it's not my favorite game ever but it's highly up the list and I hope we get a sequel soon.
4:00 the lack of player marker on the map is the most amazing thing I've seen in a game for so, so long.
I would love to see a game like this set in 30 years war.
Me too. Great thought.
oh man that would be such a miserable setting haha. did you happen to catch the podcast series "hell on earth" about the thirty years' war?
A like and a biscuit for the Doggo. Yes, a Oblivion replay and review sounds like a great idea! Especially with Skyblivion in the near distant future to compare it to!
Huge sucker for some good RPG game so this is right up my alley.
Can't believe Skyblivion is slated for a 2025 release and we have KCD:2 coming this year. Absolute madness!
Can you please tell me what that flute playing is in the beginning on your final thoughts section I gotta sample that for a beat😮💨😮💨
I just started playing this game and i’m in love with it already. It feels like a movie and every cutscene you never know what to expect, which adds to the game and the narrative. Seeing what happened to the parents and the village you start off in makes me excited to see what’s next to come
Do you have your music listed anywhere? Need that fable type beat
this and Starbound are the only two games I backed and I have zero regrets doing so. Both out-performed my expectations and hopes for the games. Warhorse them selves were super good to the backers to boot.
Y' know, someone leaked the full source code of Starbound a couple of months ago. Modders haven't done stuff with it yet (some even believe it's incomplete when it isn't the case), but the potential is limitless.
@@dagerry idk it got very regular updates back during its green light period and grew into a worth while game for me.
Starbound bored me in my opinión, I felt it was tedious and empty about halfway through and I was bored to finish it that's why I didn't do it, I think they should have worked more on what you could do in a vast universe, and improved the combat mechanics.
In that game, I dont leave a single lone traveller alive.
10/10.
There is a addon that adds a aim rectangle for the bow if you're on PC.
Helps immeasurably if you like bow combat.

Ive recently discovered this game. I have 35 hours in and I am OBSESSED! Its so good and immersive. Definitely deserves more attention then its getting, even in 2023 :)
Preciate the humor and the effort to avoid any spoilers. Youve got my sub and thumbs up man
They really went into a lot detail with this game, you can find all the place in this game on google maps. If you do, you will see that the distances and topography is very accurate. I think they consulted multiple historians to get stuff as accurate as possible (while still being fun to play), so you get a very good idea of how clerical, noble and common life was in late medieval Bohemia. You also get a lot german being made fun of and Hungarians being hated. On top of it you will absolutely essential czech phrases for everyday life
KCD is one of the best RPG'S of all time imo. It's perhaps the most immersive rpg of it's kind as well as having a great story and combat is super fun and addicting when you get the hang of it.
Great video! I started a play the game a while ago, I enjoyed it thoroughly but I felt I coudln't give it the attention it deserves so deleted all saves and looking for restarting it and playing it through when I can devote myself to it...
Why is Wings of Kynareth being played in thr background?
Playing it currently, and I absolutely adore it. Wish there were more like it :-(
It’s Bohemia bro. Hungary is basically one of their historical rivals
are you using an oblivion sound track mod for the game or is that just for this video? thanks
just the video, but i do play without the game music off..... and then skyrim soundtrack...
I finished my second playthrough about 2 weeks ago. I bought it on release during the old beast from the east on Xbox One and it violated my Xbox with crashes every 10mins. I completed the main quest but had loads to do. Fast forward to early last year I got the Xbox Series X. I had intended to back to KCD but only got around to it recently. I didn’t mind the long tutorial because it always felt like you were achieving something instead of just reams of text to read through. Anyway, like you I’d go to work (full time) thinking about the game, I’d come home to the wife and kid and when they went to bed 08:30pm for the kid, about 09:30pm for the missus - I would boot that game back up. I’m 38, not many games can keep me up all night long anymore, KCD at times saw me slogging out until 06:00am when I would neck a load of coffee, shower, shit out the coffee, go to work, come home do it again…. Then wrk from home so I could sleep it off. Nuts mun butty! I have seen the Devs posting cryptic messages on their instagram about a second game, I also read somewhere that it was intended to be a trilogy.
What armor is Henry wearing @0:12
I am on my third play through, and agree with your sentiments about KCD. Originally purchased this game (pc) version on sale as a time sink waiting for the new vampire masquerade game… welp… 4 years later I am still waiting…
Lots of KCD videos coming out recently... hopefully the sequel is coming out soon 😊
Nice video! Were you thinking about reviewing the DLCs? I would be especially interested in your take on the Womans Lot DLC.
Im hunting for 100% achievement. I have already 250hours on this game and I am about 60%. It's crazy. 3 playthroughts, which one of them was hardcore with all negative perks. For me personally, best RPG ever.
Is that a fable temple of light trip hop remix in the background? Damn that’s sick
Also, nice video
This game is one of the few ones that keeps growing on me the more I play it. 5 years later, it's now my favourite game ever.

Not sure if this is too personal a question but what would you call your accent? Im interested in the subtlties of American accents but i can only think of two british varieties ("posh" and cockney)
Posh cockney works for me
I also played my first playthrough on hardcore mode, and was so thankful for it! love your video :)
The combat becomes a lot easier if you constantly push the enemy and then thrust /repeat. Or just grab a halberd.
I literally jus got this game 2 days ago and I’m probably around 6ish hours in and Iv been absolutely loving it. Really a great game so far
Just started my hardcore journey, and im loving it! Haven played this game for about 200 hours on the normal game difficulty I had a good feel for the game beforehand. I always learn something new and enjoy the setting each time a load it. Hope everyone that has played it on normal, that's thinking of trying it out, will commit to hardcore aswell.
How are the mods?
i just hit 30 hours after 2 months of playing the game
Train , Train, Train with Capt Bernard, you will learn combo's, you will learn defense, you will learn parry, counter and dodge, you will become a weapon in a short time.
The game takes place in the Kingdom of Bohemia, then part of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown and of the Holy Roman Empire, in what is now the Czech Republic, absolutely not Hungary. It would be like saying that Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place in Canada...
Very much agree. I put it down way to soon the first time through. Came back and really got into it.
this is my favorite rpg game . . so many hidden treasures in this game ., just today i tried a mission in a verry different way and discovered something totally new. and that's over 2000 hrs of play . to me that wow !! . new to ur chanel , great video ....
Care to spoil? I'd love to hear your discovery. I found an unplanned way to get through Drahomira's quest that ultimately was pretty satisfying.
10:33 The same thing happened to me when I was playing KDC. I daydreamed all day and couldn't wait to get home from work and dive into this amazing game. I actually played the game 2 or 3 days after release, without the major patches, and I still fell in love with the game, despite the many bugs.
Great game! its something different & i did enjoy many things in it.. sword fighting is tough to pick up on keyboard but yes, that bow is difficult to get right.. its good combat tho, simple, brutal.. very enjoyable game if you not in a rush
I also went with hardcore and a few mods on my first play through and it was definitely one of the best gaming experiences. Getting lost in the woods was amazing.
Ive been out of the UK 8 years now and seeing phil mitchell brought back memories!!
P.S his alcoholic addiction and that plot in general was really well done. I feel a lot of families dealing with alcoholism or addiction in general actually found solace in it. Of course all soaps are over the top but EastEnders wasn't too OTT
I enjoyed your vid and subscribed.
I think it was this games rough release reviews that put me off initially. Here I am a few years later watching your video with curiosity as to what it’s become. I will give it a shot based on your recommendation, it sounds like my kind of game.
Correction at the start of the video, the game is set in medieval bohemia (czech republic). the Hungarians are the ones invading
I just started playing this game and it's great, I was doing a mission and had to stop at a certain point because the clue that was left, Henry couldn't understand because he can't read. So now I have to go to a scribe and learn to read lol
Thank you for the review, I was actually contemplating whether to buy this game or not but seeing gameplay and how it actually looks I am sold

9:19 I hear that oblivion music kick in there. I see you lol
Is there a free range mode? I'd love to be able to walk around the map without having to actually play the game.
Yeah, it took me some patience but it got very engaging. I wished I had an aiming reticle, but it made me appreciate hitting the target. If anyone reading this begins playing I highly recommend going to settings to simplify lock picking. At least consider it if you’re playing on PS4.
This game brought back the feeling I used to had when I travel on Shadowmere back in Oblivion until I discover fast travel, now I only fast travel in Skyrim, but I always like to ride my horse around in this game.
Pretty late reply, but technically you could also ride Shadowmere in KCD

Just got this on sale for the PS4 and I can’t wait to play this gem.
Playing on ps5, really underrated game. I love it. Feels so fresh, unlike the newer titles nowdays
Great video brother, thank you
Bought it about in the middle of August for the ps4 and i was playing other games at the time,so i didn't play much of KCD,specially because of how slow the tutoriais was.. recently i just really got into it and i alredy am 59 hours in. Fucking loving it. I just finished the baptismof fire quest and i'm curretly doing the dlc band of bastards and the village administration dlc. Havinga total blast with the game, its truly amazing and really fun.
I bought Kingdom Come Deliverance the day it came out for the PS4 and loved it. I never thought any of it was boring and that is likely because I got the swore combat almost immediately. By the time the prologue credits rolled, I had killed 4 bandits.
I recently decided to get it again for our Series X (for Achievements and seeing it play perfectly for the first time). I'm in my second run now and I just finished the horse stable quest. I think I have put down well over 30 bandits/Cumens by now. My first playthrough was with a double handle long sword, and now I'm running a short sword/shield build. The game is unlike anything I have ever experienced and I love it. 10 thumbs all the way up.

Great video! I bought this game recently on Xbox for $4.99. it's so good, I got it for PS5 as well. I'm part Hungarian and Czech, so the history speaks to me! Really impressive for their first game!
Power leveling in the tutorial is so OP.
Amazing, underrated game. Might be almost time for a 2nd playthrough + DLC for me...
9:40 I recently watched a “podcast” with Dan Vávra (game director) in Czech, and he didn't watch what he was saying and KCD2, quote: “Will definitely come out before GTA6”
Great video man, keep up the great work!

It seems like a diff sort of game I can’t be asked for the slow progress
I literally bought my gaming PC for this title, then rage-quit at some point early on, where after delivering a sword I just repeatedly got arrowed in the back while riding some slow-ass horse. This review has encouraged me to try again... so thanks!

If they'd just ANNOUNCE the sequel, this would officially become the best RPG year ever.
Lol you got to be kidding me. There has been no good rpg games released this year.
@@reapthewhirlwind6915I mean if you have a specific taste then there's none, but if you play different settings and RPGs with mixed genres there's been solid releases this year.

Yes, this game is great. Gotta play it on hardcore mode.
I just wish map would be bigger with more cities and people. In 500 hours of play you get to know everything.
kcd is a game i very much wanted to play, but everytime i launched it, it would just not. and i spent probably more than 10 hours trying to find out whats wrong and couldnt find a solution. i still would very much like to play it, but having tried so many different troubleshooting methods, i know i wont be able to. and that pains me
On ps5 when i played i got a infinite loading on 1 mission before(if you touch dlc)end that means if you on pc you can fix this if you are on ps well you can only start agin and i was on hardcore pacifist like 50h at that point i hope they will fix ther games in a future insted leaving bug like that
Love this game, my only issue with it is that some (annoyingly enough some of the more interesting and fun) quests are unfinished, as well as some in game mechanics only being partially implemented, such as being able to talk to huntsmasters about working for you in privislavits but not having the capacity to actually do it, or the fact that your horse has a slot available for 'body armour' as well as its caprision, but the armour itself does not exist in the game at all.
As the developer stopped pushing updates/patches years ago, and the modding community is all but dead, these 'dead ends' will unfortunately remain just that, dead :/
Minor issues in the grand scale as the actual game that is there, ignoring the missing bits and stuff you have to fix via mods, its absolutely amazing to play through.
I would even say that Kingdome Come Deliverance is such an underrated game
