I watched like two videos about Kensington a few days ago bc I had never heard about this place or the epidemic and now it’s all the videos I ever see in my feed. Most of these videos seem so unreal to me. It’s mind blowing that this exists and they do this out in broad daylight just out in the open. Like it’s honestly mind blowing to me and it seem so widely accepted there. I can’t wrap my head around it. But it’s given me two sleepless nights now and idk why I’m making this message but I pray somehow I am able to use this pain to leave the world better than I found it. Drugs scare me. All drugs. We live in a fallen world.

This has nothing to do with politics. I lived in 2 small republican run towns that always had strip or house that drug users frequent to. This is a society problem. But in major cities these things are often shown in media but it’s just as bad in rural and small towns as well.

It’s a conundrum. My councilmen said it’s because they can’t arrest them, theyve got no where to put them and shelters are full. There’s not many free drug rehabs either so they’re left to themselves. I guess when they tried to get the constant pan handling under control (some folks get really aggressive and scare people) the ACLU sued them for violating their right of free speech. It’s more the trash they leave behind when there’s a dumpster right there. These poor souls.

A group of drug addicted people on the streets doesn’t define Philadelphia, a city of over 1.5 million people. Those people are offered rehabilitation services on the daily, and forced rehab doesn’t work. The city routinely sends out cleaning crews to remove trash and wash down the areas.
Around 40 million people visit Philadelphia each year… which says more about the city than does a cheesy video of people using drugs.
Is your self worth so low that you need to compare your community to that of a seedy area of a big city to sooth your ego.
