- It’s the age old question that us cosplayers have; and in our season premiere, we settle the score as to whether you should BUY or DIY as Shane goes out to Party City to buy his costume to go up against Kirby’s self-made Bat-Suit for #Halloween and to celebrate #DCFanDome ! Cheers~~~

I think the ideal approach is a mix. Buy certain elements with modifications, then you make other parts.
So the funny thing is since this posting, that's exactly what Kirby did with his suit; got a different cape, gloves, cowl, shin guards, boots, pants, made a different belt and set of gauntlets. Options is always a good thing! cheers

If you're serious about quality, cosplaying and accuracy Party City is the last place to look.

@@mr.lunatic3157 everything is handmade. Machines don't sew, sculpt, mold, cast paint or fabricate for you.

Yep 3 for 3 I've also just subscribed 😀 incidentally I've got a short on my channel of a Bat cowl I put together a few years back, the picture quality is not all that but the good news is I'm going to create some content based on my home spun Bat-Suit over the next few months!

It works as a nice base for a costume I used it as a base for my 89 inspired suit I got mine a little small so I’d fill it out well I got a new belt and a 89 mask and batman begins boots and party city gloves and if I do say so myself I was the best looking Batman there also the only one

Yeah, at the time of the acquisition of that cowl, we had made a mistake in terms of the measurement not realizing that the person who made it was referring to the circumference around the brow and ears, rather than the crown (since one of us works in premium headwear and is used to measure around the crown instead). cheers

That would be an interesting comparison however there is no real interest in dressing up as Spider-Man for the time being; the closest related character would be an Agent Venom is passing interest
