It would be very helpful if we were given a choice to not change the NP when using the 3rd skill.
Feels like a hassle when you're using him with double castoria for the CQs.

I think that the NP change demerit was done on purpose because if the form change was optional like what happens with Summer Barghest's third skill he would sure be very broken. I don't think this is too much of an issue because by using Melucine for example to fight a boss you don't use the third skill at all unless you're almost finished and just need a last push to win. I agree that he's better at short fights because it's way easier to use his third skill only once at the beginning of the fight instead of having to plan your whole party to make his gimmick work, but on the other hand this very unique change gimmick may give him an edge at known fights that either have a weird number of enemies or just need you to have both an AOE and a ST DPS on your party to optimally win it.

I'm happy that they´re trying different things but not making the competition irrelevant.
Do old man is cool AF and good enough, I'm having a lot of fun using him, even if it's really weird in some situations.
He really shined on the Grail Front, that specific combat format it's really good him, I hope we can have more on them in the future if they can keep the quality level.
Nice look at the character. And kind of interesting how being able to swap back and forth (or rather being forced to) can be an issue in itself.
probably needs to be like barghest, choose wether to change or not, I think that makes him the perfect form of the gimmick
I don't know why they made him an archer. His attack animations look nothing like an archer, his banner already has another archer, he is an arts aoe looper when we got Durga recently and we also got udk Barghest who also has the np switch gimmick. Not saying I don't want him in the game, but he could have been in any other class
Wouldn’t be surprised if they had Lancer or Caster in mind but then realized that Tonelico and Mélusine already exist (Tonelico being a recent addition and Melu having the Np switching gimmick)

I personally think melusine is more game breaking in a way. Like, I feel that the amount of ramp up you get from melusine is enough to put her into competition with single target lancers.
Game breaking, well yeah she is top tier dps, but can her dmg clear 90++content? The real game breaking farming is top support meta art, and Buster, summer ibuki plus ashiya doyan, his instant kill is cheat..if only her class is berserker

@@uzumakiyuuki3454 I agree that meta supports are more game breaking but I wouldn’t say douman is game breaking tho. Sure he is a really good unit, but his own dmg is not that great he is more like a very good sup for chaotic evil. His insta kill is great but if it’s a servant or some gold enemy it becomes inconsistent.
I think the 90++ isn’t a good argument tho. Like no one can farm every 90++ not even ibuki summer, assuming that we don’t use damage CE of the event. And, if the node is archer/zerk, I think melusine will outperform ibuki. But yeah, on every thing else, ibuki should be better for farming. She is a zerk after all.
They can actually do a class change quite well with what they know and have learned through all this time, but i guess they still have a sour taste from jekyll and hyde

My only gripe with him, is the Buster ascension animations are so lackluster. However they really knocked it out of the park with his kit and third ascension animation so I’ll look past it

i'm glad that they finally released a new ssr st archer(we didn't get one since moriarty) but at the same time i'm tired about the arts aoe, we just started the year with 3 rasputin, nito alter and tezca and pope juan, all of them arts aoe, i like some arts aoe that was released this year, like durga that i np5 and grailed to 120, but seriously... stop with the arts aoe, i counted and we got 10 of them this year counting all of the rarity, we finally got some new st ssr's after 1 year of only aoe's, but at what cost? i know that it's useless to complain, but i just hope to see more new servant of the other card types in the future, we already have too much arts aoe to begin with even before this year, hope to see something new with maybe guda 8 and the last event of this year, but i don't have many hopes, i'm hoping for at least a good guda 8(yes, i'm a gudaguda enjoyer)

@@zura4890more like pretty mid, outside of 90++ she is in the usable but almost brings almost nothing category.
The buster up won't see use since she will be with an arts looper for 6-slot and the overcharge does nothing for a lot of loopers.
Her only hope is the 30% aoe charge wich works as a 50% self and 10% aoe charge since she needs to suck up 20% charge from castoria to reach 100% and use NP to kill a wave.
In the end she becomes a 90++ only servant and most of the gameplay is farming normal nodes.

You forgot something. 20% buff removal res does have a practical use.
If you have a skill that maxes at 100% buff removal resist, you can save a lore by leaving it a level or 2 lower

Hear me out Plushie. what if the next phase of the game is busted dual card type supports? we got two supports that give 50% up to both arts and buster, next comes a support that has both a 50% arts, a 50% buster and 50% battery.
It's actually Summer Barghest. No cosmetic change on the NP type swap but it's still a target number change like Melusine and Ptolemy.

How is he in setups like Himiko/Castoria? You're getting the Buster and crit buffs from Himiko anyway, which has always made those teams weird to use with an Arts DPS. Sherlock could support him too, as he boosts crit damage and has an Arts down debuff. Lanling, too. I can see something weird shell like Sherlock and Merlin/LA working for him?

Not really, but that's an extremely high bar to live up to considering who we are comparing him to, he is good, is just that his gimmick looks a lot more useful on paper then on actual execution, i would say, in my opinion there's no bigger deal breaker on a Servants then really bad NP gain on the cards, so yeah that is that
In conclusion, save for a future Arts support with CD reduction 👍

Buster ST = better for farming ordeal call 1T nodes.
Arts AOE = can 6-slot loop so better overall.
Outside of 90++ nodes he is simply better than her for having the right color for the job.

I think everything in him seems completely exaggerated, one of the reasons why I also did not care about Melusine. He could have been a great ST Buster / AoE Buster Archer, but they decided that another AoE Arts Archer was "better", when Durga and UDK Barghest existed for the purpose.
The one that gets completely exaggerated is Melusine, when people think she has neutral damage that is bigger than class advantage damage, and she's good at every CQ in ST when her ST is just Art and has no dmg mod

I know this is off topic but i can say that fgo have officially turned into waifu simulator for me since i allready got all the servants and ce that i need (dps, support and etc) which give me some weird feelings considering the fact that 2 years ago i have the urge to roll for every new servants but nowadays i only wanted to roll for certain characters only.

Absolutely wrong. Melusine ST is Arts meaning she works better with Castoria. Do you know who is the best CQ support? Yeah Castoria. Only when against multiple enemies can i see him being better for CQs.

Being buster gives you the extra dmg from oberon and the best sups like S.abigail.
He outdamages arts servants by a lot and has like the best archer st dmg.

Yes He does more damage, you can also Black grail since it is a 1 turn node not a CQ.
You can also BG on CQs, just use command for refund, its a 1 time thing.
