I read the books but I never watched the movie. I thought it didn’t look good but I actually really liked this scene and how soft Daniel’s voice is. It’s how I imagined him talking when reading the series. I also think the casting for Luce is pretty accurate to her appearance in the book covers. It’s close.

Let’s not forget in the movie he flew to shoreline, that’s basically shooting an arrow into the sky letting the scale, outcasts and others know where they are which is why Daniel made Mr. Cole take her because he knew he would put her in danger if he did that. This movie is kinda good casting wise. Jeremy was great as Daniel but doesn’t have the edge when playing him because if you read fallen Daniel is a true asshole to Luce. The casting for Luce was not at all accurate nor the portrayal. Roland was on point just wish he had more screen time because Roland is actually a very fun character. The casting for cam was on point same with Arriane and somewhat molly. Penn was on point but Gabbe? Come on, she’s southern. If they happen to make Torment I Hope it’s more with the books than this was because this was just downright depressing to watch. Btw they also never glimpsed past lives together in the first book like ever. AND the fact Daniel doesn’t have those beautiful violet eyes in the movie is just offensive 💀. Yeah the lake scene was a miss. And i liked Addison (Luce) too. But can we talk about how the whole film was a gothic, dark academia vibes going on? I think the book painted a different picture, but the film one was 😍

Then Daniel ends up kissing Luce, and he's surprised how she's still there and she didn't turn to flames and he gets scared. There was only a few scenes from the book that were in the movie.
