I feel the same about the '55 wheel wells. The only time I think it looks ok if the car is a full on gasser build with some tire sticking out, then I can handle the cut wheel wells. Thanks for watching.
I agree with rodney. You have come a long way and it has payed off so far. The car looks great and you should be proud of what you have done. I have never put a dead line on building a car or truck every day I could work on it always put a big smile on my face to see progress. Dead lines are nothing but stress and takes the fun out of the build. Ya did good Brad! Drive it and enjoy it.

Looking good I like your wheels too ! My Congrads to you to this point you did alot of work. Having no door panels ,carpet and headliner will make it hollow and rattly for sure. Put Kilnmat in the doors ,headliner area that will help a lot too with door panels & the factory access covers on makes a big difference with noise. I would put the car in Black Epoxy Primer but thats just me. I did mine in 2006 after stripping still looks the same years later,LOLL ....Glenn

I went to Back to the Fifties in The Twin Cities this past weekend. 55 2 door posts are the most predominant car there.

Bummer it didn't work out for RMRW but we all know how life is. Good luck with the sale of the DD57. That would be way cool if you could make the Tri-5 Nats. It is such a fun event. I was a spectator 2 years ago and last year we raced my 57. I think they have a racing class for manual transmission cars this year if you are interested in that. Beyond that, the Mob guys have their own car show area and they are great to hang with. I highly recommend to make the Nationals at least once in your life if you are a tri5 fan. Mob on....

Also brad the carter mechanical fuel pumps work real well on basic HP up to about 450 HP, much less annoying noise and issues when than get hot, I run them with same regulater you run.

Brad, I've been on pins and needles if you were going to make it. This is exactly why I like deadlines. If I don't make it, I got all that work done that wouldn't have. If I would've had the money, I'd came over for a week to help. It sounds really good man and I love the stance. How come you didn't take the 57 delivery?
Thanks man. Yeah, bummed I failed, but happy about the progress. It'd be cool to do something like that in the delivery, but with the mechanical injection it'd be tough. It literally et gallons per mile, lots of oil changes, fouled plugs, etc as it is designed for wide open throttle. I've considered changing up the fuel system so I can enjoy it more, but those stacks are the heart of that car so I don't think I can do it.
Brad, It i's great to take the car out for the first time. Your heart must have been racing because your eyes were scanning everything so fast on the video. It seems like you were worried about getting pulled over.
I have a Holly Electric pump, too, which is loud on my Nomad. To keep the line from rattling(vibrating), I put a bulkhead fitting on an 90° plate and secured the ridged line to that on both sides and mounted flexible braided lines in and out of a rubber mounted pump. Once you start running fuel through the carb, it quiets down. Its just a little louder before start-up.

@MontanaGarage Really shock mount the pump well. Mine is in the back corner of the frame right after the fram fuel filter. You could use any kind of water separator filter, even one used on a boat or diesel.
My pump will wobble around a 1/4 of an inch.
My background is broadcast acoustics, so I do know sound well since I retired from the World Wide leader of Sports. We called it a Mickey Mouse company literally we were owned by Disney. Yes, ESPN!

The door squeak is supposed to be the alarm back then. If you're asleep and you hear that noise, you know, somebody's in your car.
Haha seems legit. People keep telling me to fix the squeak, but it has always squeaked, and to me it just says '55 Chevy everytime I open the door. Doesn't bother me a bit. And, like you say, if I am anywhere close and someone opens the door, I'm gonna know about it. Thanks for watching!

I would clean the cragars they pit really easy.I always painted behind the spokes. Slows hydrogen embrittlement.
The wheels on the '55 are Weld, not Cragars and I don't think they're too dirty yet but probably could use a cleaning already. Thanks for watching.
The 55 is OFF THE CHARTS COOL... It has come to far to rush it now !! Paint Suggestion:: GM CORTEZ SILVER... Or maybe a WRAP, that way you can change your mind . Whatever you decide the End Result will be SWEET !!

Ive got the same fuel pump on my 66 chevelle and it sounds the same. What cam is that in your car?
Yeah I think it's normal for that pump, I just didn't expect it to be THAT loud. I'm not sure on the cam. I built this engine in like 1990 and have long since lost all the info. I think it was a Mellings cam, but no idea on the specs. It thumps and makes power though...

Epoxy primer the entire car. Do your body work over the primer when you get to it.

That's funny I was just thinking about the insulation project. I mean, I'm not going to do it, but I was thinking about it... I probably better get that done. I never thought about the glare issue. Keep the 57 and make that ole 4 door that nobody want in to a two door car and make that into a 409 gasser.
That was my plan, BUT, I have not had any luck finding decent two door doors near me, it took me WAY to long to do this 55 build, AND I have a 69 Chevelle waiting to be worked on. PLUS, I spent way beyond my budget on the 55 so it's gotta go. Hopefully someone out there want to take it off my hands. Thanks for watching!

Spray it with a DP epoxy dont drive it in bare metal or you’ll be sorry take it from a 28 year paint and body guy

I don't see why someone wouldn't give you what you want for it. It runs and drives, plus it's a 57! I would paint it don't care if it was with a paint brush.
