Red Velvet Cream Cheese Swirl Brownie

- The perfect end to any Christmas feast, these Red Velvet Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies are sure to impress your family and friends. They not only look and taste great, they're real easy to make. And the best part is, you don't only have to make them at Christmas! đ
Ingredients:
(Yields: One 7Ă7â square)
Red Velvet Brownie batter:
1/2 cup (120g) unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup (180g) sugar
2 eggs
1 cup (120g) flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp red food colouring
1 tsp distilled white vinegar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cream Cheese batter:
240g cream cheese, room temperature
1 egg
45g sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method:
- Line a 7" square baking tin with parchment paper and preheat oven to 170C/340F.
- Cream butter and sugar together with a mixer until pale and creamy.
- Beat in one egg at a time.
- Mix in red food colouring, vinegar and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder and salt together. Fold in sifted mixture gently.
- Reserve Œ cup of red batter and pour the rest into lined tin.
- With a clean mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Mix in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour cream cheese batter on top of red brownie batter and then dot the top with reserved red batter.
- Using a knife, create swirls in the top layer being careful not to disrupt the bottom layer.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes until brownie has set.
- Cool and refrigerate before serving. - Jak na to + styl
I just tried these out and let me tell you, these were out of the world and all of my friends are still raving about these brownies! just close your eyes and go for it if you're looking to bake these!
I made this once and turned out just like on the pic. I did reduced the amount of sugar by a tbsp and it was just perfect for me! Friends really liked it.

Yes, same temperature but I baked it for an hour instead of 30 mins. đ

I just made this today but I baked first the red velvet brownie at 170°C for 30 mins and take it out of the oven. That's the time I beat the cream cheese batter while the brownie is being cooled a little. Then I placed the cream cheese batter on top and made the swirl and baked again this time at 150°C for 30 mins. It turned out successful and delicious!! đđđ Hope you have a recipe for Chocolate cream cheese brownies and blueberry cream cheese brownies đ

How big is your tin? The recipe is definitely too small for me.

You can add lemon juice, but I didn't find it necessary. Will be hard to do the swirl on a cake

It just needs to be chilled for about 1-2 hours, once it is firm you can cut and enjoy!

Beetroot coloured cakes tend to turn brown after baking and so it won't stay red
