If Universalism is true, Jesus died for nothing

  • There is a growing trend of universalism-like thinking creeping into the church. The idea being that ALL will ultimately go to heaven because ALL are God’s children, regardless of whether or not they personally accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Of course, such an idea embraces a god that offers no justice and a savior that died needlessly. Melissa explains why in this video.

She says "if people get into regardless of what they do, then Jesus died for nothing". But this isn't what Christian Universalists believe at all though. On christian Universalism, it is precisely because Jesus died for our sins that all will be saved. It also doesn't mean they don't believe in hell, but rather it is temporary and only acts as a reformation tool in order to bring the unrepentant into a loving relationship with God so they finally end up in heaven like everyone else.
NOTE: I am not a Universalist myself. I've just read the literature from Universalist theologians. I disagree with it but i was just properly stating what it is.

Then why is faith explicitly stated as a requirement for receiving the grace of God?
Universalism is false because it denies the requirement of faith. And faith is literally what determines who is saved, and who isn't.
That is literally the end of the matter.
The Bible is very clear, not by your own works are you saved. You receive it through faith.
Eternal life is only given to those who recieve the grace of God, and the grace of God is only received through faith in Christ. You CANNOT receive it any other way, because scripture gives no other instruction.
Faith is not possible when the non-believing are resurrected into judgement, because they will face God, and they will see everyone else in the kingdom of God, and then Jesus will tell them to depart from him into the lake of fire. All is revealed, they see what they missed, and now face the judgement.
They cannot have faith from this point. All is revealed to them. The opportunity for salvation has passed, and now the judgement.
The Bible makes ZERO mention of a third resurrection from the second death into eternal life.
The Bible makes it clear that NO ONE will be justified and enter into heaven without faith to receive the grace of God through JESUS's blood on the cross.
It does not mean you can pay the fine for a bit then get to heaven. It does not mean you can work your way into heaven in any way.
You can only be saved through Christ Jesus, and the grace of God to be received through Christ Jesus, is ONLY received through faith.
At the end of the day, you are saying that it doesn't matter what you believe, EVERYONE, muslim, hindu, atheist, ALL will get to heaven, only that these people have an extra stage to go through, but they don't need to trust in Christ to get to heaven at the end.
This *COMPLETELY* contradicts the Bible in the absolute fullest way.
Universalism is a very, very obvious lie, and I am astounded that people believe in it.

@@alspezial2747 And this is exactly why some people belive in this lie.
Because you do not accept accountability for sin. You do not accept how evil sin really is, or accept the full weight of judgement on evil which is God's righteous judgement, as terrifying as it may be. God is *holy* and perfectly righteous, and all sin against him is utterly evil.
You do not accept the profound compassion grace and mercy God has shown towards us in the cross?
Jesus already suffered and died and took the punishment for *our* sins, God himself, humbled himself, took on all the same, and died *for us,* and yet they reject him, and therefore God is not loving and is to blame for both their sin and rejection of God's sacrifice for them on their behalf to escape the coming wrath on all evil?
Your problem is you want to water down sin, because you have not understood in any way shape or form how *good* God is, and how *evil* sin is.
God's judgement of sin is a reflection of how perfectly holy and righteous he is, and how terribly evil sin is. God's judgment *is* terrifying. It *is* absolutely wholly powerful and destroying of all evil. You *do not* want to be on the receiving end of the full wrath of God. God has been clear about this. Because he will judge all evil will full force and absolutely *zero* mercy.
Above all, God's love and compassion and mercy and grace, and his judgement met on the cross, and is on full display the cross. God had to sacrifice his Son for us! That is the compassion, grace, love and mercy of God, when we did not deserve it, when we were in rebellion towards him in evil, and did not love him. He died for us to save us.
And yet you look at this and not recognise God's profound love for us?
You just brush off what Jesus did to save us from this wrath, and take no notice of how that is the most loving thing God could have done, and instead you say the judgement is too harsh for evil.
Instead of God not being loving, the truth is that you do not perceive how evil sin is, how good, righteous, and holy God is, nor do you perceive how loving and compassionate God is towards us by dying for us to save us.
The second death is the destruction of all evil. It is up for debate as to whether it is conscious torment or not. But what we do know, is it is destruction of evil and righteous punishment to bring justice to what evil has done.
Your sense of justice upon evil, is not the same as God's. Because we are not holy, or good, or righteous, or loving, like God is.

The most common excuse for the existence of sin & hell is that evil is an inevitable result of freewill, but this isn’t true-otherwise, is God not free? A being’s will always aligns with their nature. God’s nature is good > God’s will is good > God’s actions are good
So you see, if Adam was good by default, his freewill never could’ve led him to stray from God under any circumstances. Adam was created morally neutral, with no knowledge of good or evil. He could be swayed by reason while unburdened by conscience.
Here’s my biblical reasoning for universalism: If the New Earth/Heaven is real, then God is totally capable of creating an incorruptible place and incorruptible beings. There’s a reason he made us fallible: “For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.” Romans 11:32
God let us fall because anyone can love perfect people, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8. Christ said the greatest act of love is self-sacrifice, but how can one express such a love if there is nothing to die for?
We fell so we could be redeemed, we were born into sin so we could be adopted into God’s family, to the praise of his glorious grace (Eph 1:5-6). The redemptive mission of Christ fully revealed God’s nature as a being of unconditional self-giving love.
According to Hosea 11:9 and 2 Samuel 24:14, humans have a greater capacity for ruthlessness than God-so, could YOU let someone suffer and rot in an inferno for eternity?

Universalism deserves to be criticized for the cult that it is. Only those in Christ are the all in all. Everything outside Christ will be destroyed by fire in the end including all the people not in Christ. In the garden of Eden, God said "Where are you?" to Adam but don't you think this is a strange thing for God to say? God said this because when Adam sinned he was no longer part of God's sinless creation. He was no longer part of the "all in all" that creation was in that time. The same way, all who are not in Christ in the end will not be part of the all in all. Christ is the all in all and He is not part of anything corrupted by sin. The bible refers to unbelievers as children of darkness and of satan. They are not children of God. They cannot be both.

This is a very interesting topic and I think there is much misunderstanding about the kingdom of God (heaven or hell). First the thought that if all are saved, Jesus died for nothing, is false. Because of Adam, ALL were lost so Jesus didn't die for nothing because in Him all are saved. Jesus reversed what came upon mankind through Adam. Second we typically have a concept that when people are "saved", they go to heaven and live happily ever after and those who for whatever reason don't "choose" Christ, go to hell and are tortured for ever. The problem is that there is no place that is not in Christ or in the kingdom of God and there is plenty of room for repentance and change in the age to come. In fact scripture says that at some point EVERY knee will bow and EVERY tongue confess Jesus as Lord. In a picture of eternity in the book of Revelation we see the New Jerusalem with gates that never shut and with peoples and nations outside the city, including unbelievers, etc. And lastly the lake of fire and brimstone. The fire is a place of purification and the brimstone is a method of testing the purity. Here's a big surprise, we all will come through the lake of fire to be purified and the wood, hay and straw will be burned away and the gold, silver and precious stone will come through purified. God's work in our lives is not confined to this temporal life, it continues on forever and some will spend much more time in the fire than others. Some will submit themselves to the fire voluntarily others not so much but bottom line, Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, and He succeeded. It is finished, like it or not, believe it or not. God is very very good.

Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord means that when Jesus come back to earth for the judgement day in all his glory, all human on earth will bow before him in tremble and confess that He is Lord. This does not means that they will be saved. They will not say it willingly, but they will not be able to reject it anymore.
All the things which u say is against bible.God is good, righteous, loving, merciful but at the same time wrathful towards sin, ultimate judge, vengeful and jealous God,who cannot see people living and commiting sin.He loves us so much that he send his only son to die for us in our place so that all those who believe in him will be saved.

@@jamesl.6026 I want to add one more comment concerning your response about every knee bowing. People assume that this bowing will be forced, I don't. But actually from a legal scriptural point, which most people take when debating this issue, it doesn't make any difference. Scripture says that whoever confesses and believes will be saved. There is no criteria defining how a person comes to that belief and confession. It simply says that if the knee bows and the tongue confesses, salvation occurs. The biggest problem I see in the modern evangelical or reformed world is the perception of who God is. Think about this honestly; who or what does it sound like for a god to love those who love him and to pour wrath on those who don't love or submit to him? Who reward those who bow to him and torture and heap everlasting punishment on anyone who doesn't. To me that sounds like a description of the devil. We have interpreted scripture through that lens rather than through the lens of a loving Father who expressed Himself to us in His Son and whose desire (will) is for all to come to relationship with Him.

    • @bradharford6052
      @bradharford6052 Před 3 lety +3

@Moses R. Actually if you look up fire and brimstone you will find that it is a purifying and also a testing of that purification. Plus the book of Revelation is a book of signs, it is not literal and it interprets itself in many places. The part about believers and unbelievers, dogs and sorcerers you reinforced with your comment. They are outside the city but they are still present outside the gates along with nations and peoples. Everyone may not believe or receive the blessing and benefit of Christs accomplishment in His death and resurrection in this current age even though it belongs to them. Jesus didn't save just those who believe in Him, He saved the entire cosmos. People don't get born again when they invite Jesus in, they were born again at the same time Jesus was, in His resurrection. We ALL died with Him and we ALL rose with Him. And eventually in this age or the age to come, every knee will bow. That is the wonder, grace, mercy and awesomeness of my Father. He chose us in Christ before creation and desires for ALL to come to Him and since He is all knowing and all powerful His will WILL be done. That my friend is GOOD NEWS. I know that many reject this truth in favor of a angry and punishing god but once a person sees the true nature and character of God, they will never unsee it. Just as in the first century with the Pharisees it is now with religious people. They have a need to be exclusive, self righteous, critical and judgmental and in the same way as the Pharisees become furious when they encounter the true God. If Jesus had waited until now to be born, He probably would be crucified by the evangelical religious community. We have been blinded but light is being shed across the entire world right now. Come on board and enjoy the journey.

Justice is equal punishment, and even if you believe true justice would mean eternal punishment for all (an idea usually gotten from Romans: for the wages of sin is death), you could no longer deny that justice is judgement. And throughout all of scripture, we see the same message repeat again and again; mercy triumphs over judgement. We see this message BEFORE the cross. How much more then, does this extend to the rest of humanity? A different romans verse actually tells us!"Then as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to acquittal and life for all men."
And "For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all."
Judgement is justice, and judgement is triumphed over by mercy. Unless the words of Paul don’t matter to u, in which case, carry on!

Apologies but this is a complete misunderstanding of universalism. Universalism is true precisely because christ died! (1 John 2:2 / Romans 5 / 1 Timothy 4 / Colossians 1 / Philippians 2) .. Christian universalists have the most complete view of divine judgement - that it ultimately serves a purpose just that it is ultimately restorative, not retributive. This is what the new testament means when it symbolically talks about fire. It is the fire of God's consuming love, which is incredibly painful to the unbeliever / unrepentant. I agree that the Bible doesn't teach universalism.
That being said, universalism doesn't imply a lack of wrath, judgement, or justice. There could still be a period of punishment. According to some universalist ideas, after people have done their time, everyone will _eventually_ enter heaven. Justice doesn't imply eternal punishments.
Nor does it imply that Jesus's sacrifice was in vain. This is bizarre claim. If the Israelites collectively sinned, a communal sin offering could be made. If one Israelite is unaware of this communal sin offering, and makes an individual sin offering, does that mean the communal sin offering for the rest of Israel was done in vain? No, of course not. Having multiple options doesn't mean any particular option becomes pointless.

You may also want to dig a little further into why Paul, in the New Testament, makes a distinction between those who are "children" of God and those who can be called the "sons" of God (having received "the ADOPTION of sons) and how that relates to the teachings of Old Testament Prophets. I think you will find that "adoption" doesn't mean what you think it means and that ALL are, in fact, children of God, though NOT ALL are sons of God.

Thankfully Christian universalism brought me back to Christianity and to actually loving God. I honestly don't understand how people can "enjoy heaven" knowing that so many others will be suffering forever. The very idea is repulsive and contrary to love. If you want to know what's the most important factor in any theological understanding is that it be consistent with love first and foremost. The idea of taking the valley of Hinnom in Jesus's parables, calling it hell and making it infinite in time is just wrong, especially when this is not mentioned in neither acts of the apostles nor letters of Paul. You'd figure if this idea was so important, the apostles + Paul would be all over it. But they weren't.
And the idea that you need eternal hell in time or otherwise Jesus died for nothing is just illogical. These are not mutually exclusive. Jesus saves regardless in the fullness of time.

    • @emjay_mcri
      @emjay_mcri Před 2 lety +1

We will enjoy heaven because we'll be in the presence of God. If you reject limited atonement because you're worried about being worried in heaven about the salvation of others then you've missed the point entirely of being in heaven. The elect won't be sad at people being sent to hell, instead we'll be rejoicing at the justice of God being served on His enemies. If that repulses you then you have failed to grasp the holiness, majesty and justice of God.
The Scriptures make it clear in Revelation 14 that unbelievers will be "tormented in fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises FOREVER AND EVER."
Suffering in hell for a short time is the Catholic belief of purgatory which has no Scriptural basis. If a person is saved then Jesus takes away ALL their sins; if not saved then a person carries ALL their sins. If we could suffer temporarily for our sins before being welcomed in heaven then what was the point of God suffering and dying on the cross? What did He save us from if we can ultimately save ourselves by enduring our own punishment?
Romans 9:19-23 makes it perfectly clear that some people were created for honour and others for destruction. God is our Maker and He is holy. Who are we to tell Him that He is unfair in His choices? He will have mercy and compassion on whom He chooses and we are nothing to say otherwise.

An eternal hell cannot logically exist-nor would God be worthy of adoration for creating a state of affairs in which His rational creation would be consigned to eternal perdition. Moreover, even the most depraved individual is not worthy of such sentencing. Most people have not thought through the logic of what an eternal hell would truly entail. One is ultimately committed to the notion that no matter what, a finite being who may have just been lost in life, not only will suffer eternal *conscious* torment-but is deserving of it; which is a morally atrocious conviction to hold. And further, to note, the Bible is not unambiguous in regards to an eternal hell-universalism does have a Biblical defense. Highly recommend reading David Bentley Hart’s book, “That All Shall Be Saved,” for further investigation into universal salvation.

Question 1: How much of eternity would it take for God to "buy" someone's love and worship?

unfortunately, you misunderstand. You say that Universalism makes Christ's sacrifice useless. It is the very opposite. if anything, _infernalism_ (the believe in an eternal hell, something not preached in the gospel) pre-destinationism (the believe that people are elected to go to heaven/hell at birth, something also not preached in the gospel) and annihilationism downplay Christ's sacrifice more than anything. The very believe of Universalism is that Jesus' sacrifice was so great that he saved ALL people, not just those that believe in him.
the evidence for Universalism in the gospel is undeniable. The Bible says that all treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul preached about the riches of Christ (Colossians 2:3, Ephesians 3:8-9).
The riches of Christ are the scriptures which preach out the true Gospel of God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the whole world. There are literally dozens and dozens of scriptures, which clearly speak of the universal reconciliation and salvation of all through Jesus Christ. here are just some:
    John 12:32-33 (NIV)
32 But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. 33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order…
It is also important to note that everyone will be made alive in Christ in his own order, which is in God’s time and in accordance with God’s Plan of the Ages for the reconciliation of all things.
    1 Timothy 4:10 (NIV)
10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.
    Philippians 2:9-11
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Those who believe in hell twist these scriptures to interpret that God will force unbelievers to worship Him in hell. A forced worship can never give glory to God.
The Bible is clear, abundantly clear, in both the Old and the New Testaments, that everyone without exception will confess the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Elohim, giving glory to Father God.
    Revelation 5:13
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
These are wonderful glorious prophetic scriptures. Just stop and think about them. When God’s wonderful Plan for the Reconciliation of All is fulfilled at the creation of the Eternal Kingdom of God of the New Heaven and the New Earth, every creature, all men and all angels, will worship giving honour and glory to God the Father and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, forever and ever.
*Jesus Christ will restore ALL things*
    I rest my case.

You typed, "Those who believe in hell twist these scriptures to interpret that God will force unbelievers to worship Him in hell. A forced worship can never give glory to God."
When did God ever demand this kind of worship?
If you believe that the ENTIRE word of God, the Holy Bible, is true, you would know that Jesus Himself preached more about hell than anyone else in the Bible.
That is a very important fact.
There are clear and undeniable reasons for the truth about hell to be in the scripture.
(1.) Jesus had to talk about hell because it is the fate that awaits all people apart from Him. Hence, the need to preach the gospel. Because of Adam’s sin, we’re all guilty and deserve God’s eternal punishment.
(2.) Contrary to popular belief, hell is not a place where God sends those who have been especially bad; it is the DEFAULT destination of all mankind! Why?... We all have sinned. (period) We need a rescuer or we stand condemned.
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.“ (John 3:18)
(3.) So we’re left with two options: stay in our state of depravity and be eternally punished, or submit to the Savior and accept his gift of redemption. It's that simple. We still have to make a choice, an act of our own will, to receive the grace freely offered through Christ.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
I believe there is a hell... So... What scriptures are being twisted?
These are Christ’s own words!... Is this a fear tactic or a warning?... Is it wise to just ignore these words? I don't think so.
Please understand that hell is a place of permanent and FINAL punishment, not “punishing” as some people had always thought and do preach out of passion but exaggeration.
Remember that eternal separation from God is the “second death”; to cease to exist. (The “second death” is mentioned 4 times in the book of Revelation!)
Question: After the Great White Throne Judgment in the book of Revelation, Ch. 20, how could God demand worship from creatures who have been annihilated in a hell that has ceased to exist?
Finally, should our God spend an eternity trying to buy someone's love?... Never.

He has done quite enough and it is His sovereign right to gain a willing return on His most precious investment with or without us.

@@thatwhichhasbeen-isthatwhi6575 You typed, "Not all, but many universalist’s do believe in the fearful judgments of God, but we also believe they are corrective in nature as well. No one will go unpunished if needed and on the flip side of that, no one will go unsaved. The scriptures teach that God sent his son to save the world, they also teach that his plans never fail. It’s all about [trying] our best to harmonise “all” scriptures and not cherry-picking those that suite our given position."
I can see the aim of your analysis of the scriptures you chose. I can agree that all scripture is god-breathed or inspired of God, for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction - but with no additions, substitutions, or exaggerations.
      My thoughts about your (4) concluding statements are;
(1.) The God "we" serve is sovereign over all "nature(s)." He made them and He should be the only one who decides on what can or cannot be "corrected." Surely, we shouldn't reference the divine nature according to our earthly and finite understanding.
(2.) Who's doing the "flipping" here?... I would find it much more rational to allow the creator to reason with creatures such as Satan and any other creatures who share his point of view. Christ knows His creation and will decide their outcomes. Romanticized opinions, special pleadings, and any attempts to downplay the "second death" (mentioned 4 times in Revelation) that Christ Himself had predicted is an apostasy. (Not good!) You, me, the heavens, and earth will crack and fade before any of His words go unfulfilled. Amen?
      (3) True. The Lord Jesus gave us (John 3:16 and 17). However, He also gave us (John 3:18). (John 3:18) uses the word "condemned." This doesn't mean innocent until proven guilty. It also does not mean "yet to be renovated." And Yes. God has plans that will work but based upon His word. Heaven and earth will fail before any of His WORDS fail. Amen?

(4.) You mentioned "cherry-picking" (in reference to my first post), and yet you did not give a rebuttal toward any of my use of scripture that would support your position. And also, you did not "harmonize" my "hell emblazoned" scriptures with your rebuttal. Are you dismissing these scriptures to suit your given position?
I certainly do enjoy our spar.

The term "biblical universalism" is new to me. I was, at first, under the impression that Universalism was an attempt to "tone down" the warnings of Malachi 4:1-3, Matthew 10:28, (several other of the 4 gospel verses on hell) or the (4) references to the "Second death" in the book of Revelation.
To me, what is most important here is God's sovereign name and reputation before all of His creations. And His sovereignty is the sole reason why the testimonial of scripture (and our testimony) is paramount, considering the grandest court session yet to come, the Great White Throne Judgment.

I kinda see the point of the conclusion you came to... And I also see a problem that was persisted throughout your explanation of how Universalism could work...
(1.) You typed, "1 Corinthians 15:26, it tells me that the “last enemy” to be destroyed is “death”, If we are to go by the sequence of Judgment at Rev 20: 10-15, death goes into the “lake of fire” [before] those not found in the book of life, therefore death ceases to exist, so those judged [after] can’t be put to death again, because death will not exist anymore."
Well - "the sequence of Judgment" at Rev 20:10-15, as you put it... *does not end there*... The scripture about the "second death" appears again in Revelation 21:8.
Let's read that, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, SHALL (future tense) have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."
This scripture is placed in the next chapter, listing sinful behaviors as done by PERSONS, who obviously, have not yet faced final judgment!
Did God change His mind and had to restoke the "fire" to purge sinful behavior? No.
      (2.) Revelation 20:15 -
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
I am pretty sure that this has not been translated as *things not found written* but *persons* or *souls* for that matter.
The word "whosoever" strongly implies that some entries in the Book of Life will be missing a few "persons or souls."
This would also imply the existence of persons who will refuse to be "corrected."
Effectively, our sovereign creator has not bought any worship, love, or even loyalty.
Therefore, by the authority of scripture, I simply do not see how universal salvation could fit.
      How do we reconcile this?

Christian Universalism was one of the major beliefs in the first 300 years of the Church, they evangelised pretty successfully. I'm not being glib , check out J W Hansen's 'Universalism'. The Father's who wrote the Nicene Creed were mostly believers in the Restitution of all things. I'm a spirit filled believer of over 31 years the centrality of the Cross and John 14:6, are non negotiable, but I'm a believer in Ultimate Reconciliation. It's historically and biblically more accurate. Endless Conscious Torment is utterly entrenched in our tradition but, it so obviously doesn't fit the story from creation to Revelation. Did you know that it was only from the 6th Century that Christian Universalism was deemed a heresy?

Old testament jews from Moses' time were under "the Law" since the giving of the 10 commandments. During this time, they were required to follow the 10 commandments(and some other laws) to be saved. Whoever broke these laws had to offer an animal sacrifice to remain saved. The animals took the punishment instead of humans. Such sacrifices offered limited protection from hell because an animal's worth is less and finite. This time period continued till Jesus died. When Jesus became the substitute, his blood became the eternal payment for all of all humans because his value is infinite.

While there are certainly more progressive universalists out there who believe as you speak of, there are other universalists who certainly believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and the only way to be fully reconciled to God. One can only achieve salvation through Jesus, but this opportunity stands till the end of time. To them, God is like the father in the Parable of the Prodigal Son, who allowed his son to sin and bring destruction upon himself, but is always waiting for him to return. It’s precisely because of Jesus and his sacrifice that the world will be reconciled. “For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.” -Romans 11:32
And it’s interesting how she speaks from a position of how universalism is not just, while a predominant view on hell is that a single sin condemns us to an eternity of fiery torment without any chance of change or repentance. Wouldn’t the truest form of justice be to judge a person by the content of their heart whenever that may be-in life or death-rather than to render their free will meaningless in hell?
