    Great tip prying down on the control arm. I was getting so mad because my ball joint kept spinning! I eventually tore to boot trying to clamp it with pliers. Was a bad afternoon.

    Great video. I put 2 inch spacers in my 04' titan. A year later the front tires locked up and I had to replace a ton of parts. Pretty much a new front end. About $2500 dollars worth.
    This time I put in the Bilstien shocks that have the adjustable leveler built in, runs a ton smoother and no problems.

    Coming from personal experience, you don't have to remove the tie rod/ball joints or the caliper. Just take a long pry bar and stand on it on the lower control arm as you get the strut in place. Make sure you adjust your camber if you're putting a puck on top of your strut like this though. Without doing so, you WILL destroy the outside of your tires. Personally I wouldn't recommend lifting your truck this way though.

It barely hits the control arm when I hit a pothole or something like that but you can use a die grinder to clearance it a little bit and it will take care of that issue. @@jamessauls6034 it's interesting that these springs and shocks are stiffer than a 2x4 you would think going over terrain you would want a softer set up but I know absolutely nothing about off roading... We bought our truck used when it was a year old and had 9800 miles on it... The dealer had 2 identical looking trucks on the Lott one was 2x4 one was 4x4 $500 difference between the 2 so I went for the 4x4 thinking of I only needed to use it once would be worth it.... So far we have needed it twice... Haha stuck in mud axle deep after a storm and 2nd stuck in snow axle deep visiting my folks. Both times got is out in 4hi running the stock Good Year SRA's.

      +Troy West I don't take chances when it comes to steering/suspension. I've never had great difficulty removing fasteners with blue loctite. If you do, 10 to 15 seconds with a propane torch is enough to neutralize it. Red loctite, however, is the devil.

    Did you say 13/16 bolts? There hasn't been a vehicle made in over 2 decades with sae bolts. Everything is metric

    • @AutoRex101
      @AutoRex101  Před 5 lety +2

      13/16” sockets are 20.6mm and will usually work fine for removal and, in most cases, torquing 21mm metric bolts. When you get to a certain socket size, the differences between SAE and MM become increasingly minimal. Another example: 15/16” sockets will turn 24mm bolts and fit like a glove.

    Just a warning this can cause the sway bars on your titan to lay down and hit the inside of your rims digging into them ruining the inside and knocking off balancing weights and also cutting your turning radius down by more then half almost. They don’t tell you this just look it up it happens a lot and it happened to me so I wasted money on the leveling kit and there’s fixes for it they just aren’t cheap and I didn’t have the money bc I had to repair things and get my tires rebalances and re aligned after I took the kit off. Just be warned about this problem hope I helped 👌🏼
