I am so happy you started doing these videos. I was a practicing Pagan for a number of years and the chaos of my life and living situation caused me to lose touch with much of it. The few videos you have posted on the subject have inspired me to revisit my beliefs and seriously consider reconnecting with it. Thank you Kiri!

I got started learning from watching other CZcams videos and I have my book of shadows on my phone which I plan to copy into an actual notebook at some point, but I love being able to add to my phone book of shadows as I go through my daily life as I always have my phone on me.
I started practicing about 6 years ago. I had always been interested in magic and always felt balanced and grounded in nature

Some of the things you talked about in your video truly blew me away! Mainly the part about when you talked about being Mormon. Iv been going through roughly the same things you did in regards to the Mormon church for the last 3 or 4 years.
For me, the Mormon church was great because it taught me great things and about how to remain open , especially with spirituality. But as you said, many if not all things about the religion resonated with me.
Over the last year and a half or so, I started gaining an interest in witchcraft and really felt myself start to really come alive! Witchcraft gives me purpose. it gives me a new reason to wake up every dat. it helps me find help and guidance that the Mormon church was never able to do, and the Mormon church ended up just being confusing and everyone in my experience holds each other to standards that they never explain even the WHY, that they themselves don't even understand.
Witchcraft is totally the opposite to me.

Hi there. I just stumbled upon your video, and I liked it a lot. Man, that book is HUGE. I'm a soon to be 55 years old sea witch, and I started on my path in the early 90s by studying Theosophy and Connie Mendez's brand of Metaphysics. I joined the Brotherhood of Humanity in the mid-nineties, and started studying Shamanism by the end of the nineties. By 2005 I started studying Wicca, and after that I added Druidry to my curriculum. For the last 20 years or so I considered my spirituality to be Pantheistic Pagan, and I've been practicing the craft separated from that. I guess I've always been a sea witch, since I was born and raised on an island, and being descended from fishermen I got immersed in sea lore early on in my life. I love the look, especially your hair color.

I just stumbled on your channel. I am currently a Solitary Practitioner but I am moving towards coven work slowly. I have been studying the Craft since 2007. I am in love with Christian, Celtic, Norse, and Gallo-Roman paganism. I even worked with Canaanite and Hindu deities. I have studied the majority of the worlds religions. I am currently studying Presbyterian Christianity and Wicca. I am still growing in my faith and still trying to find my path bc I am not currently satisfied. Keep up the good work.

    So,
    My getting started story.
I always had an interest when the fantastic, even as a child. I would roam with dragons, talk with the stars and would always be the magic user in any games I played with my sister and brother.
I also had a spiritual feeling that..something was out there. I attended scripture lessons at school and tried to explore my spirituality within Christian faith.
But I found, it simply wasn't for me. I can't explain why other than it just didn't feel right. This was also the time when tv shows like Charmed and Buffy started airing and I was hooked.
My mother, saw how much I loved these shows and bought me a book on witchcraft on my 13th birthday. I was lucky enough that I have never been in the broom closet. But, that one book was my gateway into other books on magic and wicca.
Now, at 32 it is a part of who I am. As for my path? I guess I am more of a eclectic wiccan with a focus on dragons. I use what resonates with me.
And that is my biggest peace of advice for those who want to get started. Research as much as you can and go with what feels right for yourself.

I was raised in an extremely conservative and christian household but never understood why it was so masculine and questioned why there was no equal feminine and masculine divinity seen as equal and both respected equally. I’ve always had a love for nature and growing herbs so you could say my witchcraft is more towards being a green/kitchen witch to a sense. And I’m currently being drawn towards Norse paganism. I’m just kind of going with the flow and letting the energy help gravitate me towards where I need to go in terms of my spiritual faith.

I was encouraged to go to some stores and set up an altar by my boyfriend, who's spiritually sensitive (he can read energy and feel spirits). I also sometimes where a moss agate bracelet as well, when I can't do a grounding. Grounding where you put your bear feet onto the earth and soak in the energy from the earth. My deity is Gaia. I do pay homage to Hades, Hera, & Persephone as well.
I've always known I not meant for the Christian life and I was forces unwilling to it. As an adult I become more aware my connection to Gaia and nature. it was through Iron druid chronicles series that help me identify exactly where I belonged. Druids are peaceful, I never harm a person without reason even then I dont do bodily harm , I hit with open hand; one with nature, which love all things and get upset someone destroys nature or hurts animals; there other things as well i go on & on about.

I'm kind of in between on witchcraft. The way I currently see it, I have a patron that helps me with the weather. So, major storms just miss me, and minor things, well, I've gotten more to enjoy a light rain, but heavy stuff outside of major storms also avoids me. I only really talk about witchy things with one friend and definitely not with family. I just haven't made it a priority to work on that part of my life, though I keep telling myself I should.

    Hey Kiri!
When I was a child, I would say about 7th grade or so, so about 12 or 13, I recognized that I really wanted to be connected to nature. My mother, however, was very adamant on telling me that witch craft was 'the devil's work', and I took her word for it. I knew I wasn't 'religious' in the same sense as her, and that I very much disliked the monotony of any church service I had been to, but I knew I didn't want to do anything 'bad', and she seemed like she thought it was bad. So I just trusted her on this.
About ten or fifteen years ago, I began to get into practicing magic. However, due to some unfortunate connections I made during my college years, with a lot of some... shall we say manipulative people. I began to stray away from it again, particularly when I moved over seas and left a lot of my tools of the trade behind.
When I left, I took only my tarot cards, and that was it. But then I stopped using them.
I can't say that I have a bad image of magic, or paganism. But that I have bad memories associated with the people who helped me expand my knowledge of it. Even if the knowledge was mostly good, they were still manipulative people.
While I was overseas, I extended my hand into more dream based endeavors. Lucid dreaming, and hopefully extending my path of spiritualism and possibly magic into my dreams. This was also interrupted when I suddenly became unable to sleep, because a man stalked me back to my apartment. I was prescribed some sleeping medication that completely wiped even the ideal of 'dreams' off of my sleep pattern for nearly eight months.
When I finally started having dreams again, I had fallen out of the habit of dream journaling.
All in all, I know what my heart wants to guide me towards, but I guess I continually have bad experiences finding outlets and learning, which has prevented me.
Recently, I've tried redirecting this energy towards more mindfulness, and empathy. And now that I'm back home in the US, I've begun to seek out more experiences with my dreams again.

I'm really enjoying these video from you! Thank you for sharing :)
I'm a pretty eclectic spiritualist with a focus on meditation and self-exploration. I have interest in tarot and choas magick, as well as green/kitchen magick. I've always had an interest in magic and spiritual things, even as a kid before I knew it was more than just 'imagination'. I was raised agnostic, and non-religious, but my mother has always been into things like tarot and meditation, and I grew up heavily attracted to the interconnection of magic from fantasy novels and movies. I always felt profoundly sad that the 'real world' didn't work that way, and really felt a connection to nature and the universe as something more than just physical space. I think it was watching The Craft when I was a tween that really prompted me into realizing "Hey, this magick stuff might actually be a thing people do, not just fantasy!" and it all kinda sprouted seriously from that. I've been all over the place, from Wicca to Universal Spiritualist, to eclectic and Traditional Witchcraft, to Norse Reconstructionism... now I'm just at a point where I learn what interests me and practice the way that feels the most natural and useful, so I don't really have a name for what I do.

I would call myself an ecelctic pagan. I was solitary for about 15 years, and then joined a local coven. I do still do a ton of solitary work for myself. I mainly work with Anubis and Brighid (Egyptian and Celtic), however as we are in the dark part of the year. I have also been recently interested in a new path I found out about called Primal which works with Hecate, Lucifer, and Belial. In this parth Lucifer is not the same as the christian satan, but he, Hecate, and Belial are the God's and Goddess of Hell or the underworld. I love being able to look at different paths and seeing how they view witchcraft so this is just another path that I view at part of my electic side. I do however love to cook, use herbs, and essential oils for magical purposes.

If you wish to connect to a Diety or not that is a completely personal choice and in no way influences the power that you posses within you, you are made of star stuffs and are inherently divine.

Your secret entrance to the fae court looks spectacular as a backdrop. ;-) We had a wonderful youth minister that went through and taught us a number of religions, but not paganism so I love hearing about it which is also likely why people are interested in it.

Depending on the setting, those types of works can be a great place to find visualizations and concept descriptions. My personal 'sources' are Wheel of Time, Valdemar, and Melanie Rawn's Sunrunner series' for energy work, Death Gate Cycle for runes, and the Saga of Recluce for an exploration on the non-morality of the Chaos / Order dichotomy.

I have yet to see a good looking grimoire or book of shadows book. I can’t stand stuck in pages or pop out pages or scrapbook style ones. I think it should feel more witchy. Every single book i have seen on youtube has been disappointing

Your grimoire is personally for the person who made them--other people's do not have to be what you want because they're not for you. Do yours however you please. =)

lol printing something out feels cumbersome but a GIGANTIC BOOK is somehow not. hahaha. not judging just finding it funny! I also love the look and feel of books but love the convenience of my tech. Idk which way I'd go if I actually started practicing lol. loving that you're doing these. as a non-practicing pagan it's super interesting to hear about how you practice and brings me back to my college days when I took classes on paganism, fringe religions, and the occult. 🧙🏻‍♀️

Giant book stays in my space and on display, I just bring it out to the main room. Computer would require me to print it, we don't have a printer, and afterwards I would have no place to put it. =)

I have always been curious about your... I don't want to offend but practice? >.< Excuse my ignorance. I have a background of religion and I believe in a higher power. My family always pushed me away from stuff like this. Showed me this was evil and bad but I have always been drawn to it. I even use to make my own "potions" with herbs and plants when I was younger. I am looking forward to bingeing your videos. Maybe this is fate... Cause I was looking for Lore Olympus vids and found you. Idk I would like to understand this more lol.

I will try to answer any questions you have. =) It will actually be a lot of help to know where to start with tackling explaining certain things.

@@KiriCallaghan awesome! I joined your discord. I'll gather my thoughts a bit before I start harassing you with questions lol

I have a different view. A grimoire is about witchcraft, a book of shadows is about you pagan path. Both are sacred.
