The 10 Stages of Lifting

- Here are the 10 stages of lifting.
Stage 1: True Noobie. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but if I eat a lot of protein and do a ton of bicep curls, I think I’ll be ok. Sure, I may be wearing wrist wraps and lifting gloves during every one of my exercises, but as long as I’m not training legs, I don’t see a problem.
Stage 2: Advanced Noobie. I still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but now I have a bicep vein, so I think I know what I’m talking about. Not to mention, my lifts are going up, I’m eating everything my mom makes me, and life is pretty good. So, if I keep going at this rate, I think I can actually build a decent physique.
Stage 3: My first show. I have now discovered the squat bench and deadlift and am maxing out all 3 of them twice a week, my strength has never been higher, no one my age has ever looked better, I know exactly what I’m doing, and I’m actually planning to compete in the 59th annual mr olympia competition next year.
Stage 4: The Cut. You know I’ve been gaining weight for a while now and I’m kinda sick of seeing all these influencers so much leaner than me, so I think it’s finally my turn to shine. Sure, I may be eating unseasoned chicken breast and canned tuna twice every day, but as long as I hit my daily protein goal, I should end up looking like arnold shwarzenegger.
Stage 5: Depression. Turns out I didn’t have nearly as much muscle as I thought, and now I am left scrambling to take as many possible videos of me with a pump 5 minutes before it disappears, taking every inch of my will to exist along with it. No, mom I will not put my shirt back on, this is the only way you can tell I work out.
Stage 6: Depression Part 2. I look like crap, I’m scared to bulk and I’m addicted to being lean, but I’m not making any progress because I’m scared to bulk and look like crap. So to fix that I am now training 3 hours a day 7 days a week, but all of my lifts have now plateaued since I’m apparently doing what they call overtraining, and I also haven’t taken a rest day in 6 months.
Stage 7: Realization. Ok this is clearly not working, I am still somehow curling the 25 pound dumbbells for 4 sets of 12, something desperately needs to change. Maybe it’s time to finally cut down on the volume and really focus on my intensity to start making more progress. Also I’m going into another bulk.
Stage 8: Newbie Part 3. I am finally seeing progress again, and my lifts are all going up. I’ve also stumbled upon an elegant man by the name of Max Euceda who teaches me all there is to know about lifting, and I even use code “MAXE” for 40% off all myprotein clothes and supplements like these delicious tubs of protein powder, and super neat and cool gym fits.
Stage 9: Fulfillment. After years and years of dedication and consistency I can finally look back and appreciate how hard I’ve worked, and how far I’ve come, and for some reason I am also now shaving my legs for maximum aesthetics. But with that aside, I am still training extremely hard in the gym and I look forward to each and every new day with a fresh pair of eyes.
Stage 10: A Crippling crash to reality. It appears having a ton of muscle on its own does not get you very far, so I have decided I need more muscle to cope with the fact I am alone. Thus, I will now be spoon feeding myself peanut butter at 3 am, contemplating all of my life choices, only wearing oversized clothes to the gym, and slowly begin my road to obesity. But do not panic, I am simply bulking.

I’m currently in stage 11: Getting an injury out of nowhere and having recurring panic attacks about the gains I’m gonna lose while rehabbing it 😅
I didn't have access to a gym for 5 weeks and only lost around 30% of my strength and 7lbs. The first week back you will gain most of the weight and strength back dw about it fam
muscle memory is a beautiful thing my man. Keep eating good and try not to lose to much weight, and you'll be back in no time
Exact same thing just happened to me bro I feel you.
@@MaxEuceda7I got a L4-L5 Disc hernia back in early May, life has sucked, I’m in constant shooting and stabbing pain from sciatica, pre-fitness depression has came back stronger than ever, I’ve had a summer cold for 57 straight days now and I usually only get sick a few days every other year, every cough and sneeze is excruciating, just been in agony basically. BUT I know I’ll get through this and when I do heal enough to get back to it, I’ll get to re-experience the upward spiral that is newbie gains but at a even faster pace
same
Wow this was embarrassing how relatable it was. I'm around stage 7/8 and I'm making good progress. There's still hope for me
Keep grinding bro, fulfillment is right around the corner!
@@MaxEuceda7indeed, he’s about to fulfil the requirements for body dysmorphia, and then any progress is not good enough.
@@MaxEuceda7and then the crash😭💀
"I need more muscle to cope with the fact that I am alone." WORD! 🔥💪
Too real
Yeah lol
real
Yep, it's unwise to bundle your whole identity up in lifting. A complete person is made of far more than muscle, and it's easy to be underdeveloped in every way that matters if we only see life through the circular opening of a whey container.
Hit too hard
Stage 11: self-love
No matter what difficulties life throws my way
Despite constant internal conflicts with who I am as a person
Remembering that I am here for a reason bring me closer to gratitude of not only my own life but all life around me
Creating and sharing memories that will last a lifetime
Letting go of anxiety and worry of reaching the expectations of others
Your best friend is your right hand....

What stage is flexing in the mirror 😆
*rides into stage 11 on a unicorn
I'm getting into stage 3, finally getting truly consistent and trying my hardest at the gym, actually training legs with proper intensity and prioritizing compound lifts

Same bro
You are actually an inspiration to me Max. I’ve been lifting religiously to attain a physique I can be proud of 😊
Hey, max. I was having a real lousy morning - I needed to work out but I've been feeling kind of down, so I was just lazing in bed, burning the hours away. I saw this video, and it got me on my feet lifting heavy and lifting hard. I had to cut a few sets for time, but hey. I just wanted to say thanks for giving me the jolt of motivation to hit the weights today, man. There are peaks and valleys in life, no doubt - but it's the journey, not the destination, aye? And yours has certainly been incredible. I deeply admire your sense of dedication and good humor through it all. Thanks for all the great videos and inspiration. Godspeed!

Bro got the endgame message
Hey thanks man, all your videos help a lot with me, I’m currently lifting and working out to get rid of my addiction, it is working so far! Your videos are the best keep up the good work.
Binged your Training Basics last night since I'm apparently stuck on stages 6 and 7. Thanks for the laughs and knowledge!
I hope I reach a body physic like you one day, I'm 15, trying to build it up 🙏🏻
take your time bro and enjoy the journey! I believe in you ♥
(hes not natty)
@@bitterweet5115We can't be sure but I tell myself that when I see anyone HUGE so that my expectations would always be low. But when it comes to him I think he's definitely on juice, he grew this big in like what? 3 years?
@@SamiiRSMTkeep your expectations low and your results will reflect that. I’d rather believe I can look like him naturally and work my ass off chasing that goal and fall a little short but be ahead of the people who never thought it was possible in the first place. Bro has a great physique but it’s not hard for me to believe he’s natural
You started too late bro, you need to start at age 9 if you want optimal gainz
Thank you Max so much for your entertaining videos and your inspiring words and your awesome sense of humour 💪😉
I just love your sense of humor, thanks, mate :D
Watching your videos over the last few days made it very clear I’m at stage 7, started my first real bulk since high school this week. Too bad it took me til year 7 to let go of staying lean and overtraining 😅
GOD i remember First finding you at that stage 4 and watching your "technique" videos and thinking "hahaa absolutely not, this guy has no idea what hes doing".
Fast forward now, its incredible to see how much you've grown; You have learned a lot. You have progressed, figured things out on your own, and now are making progress faster than anyone else iv seen in a long time. Good job brother. Super proud of you.
Stage 3 lets gooo
Not trying to be mean but why don’t you get a 45 lbs bar
Good to know you're levelling up and realising there's more to life and other gardens you need to water along the way. 🙏
bro this is actually hilarious. keep making content like this
I’m at stage 2 rn! Continuing the grind! Love your content Max
same, stage 2
I’m back! I’m currently between stage 2-3, I look like max at seconds 0:22
I’m feeling great!
but i’m still skipping leg day lol
Man ur vids are funny asf don't stop making them
Max!! Love the videos
More steps to come bro, keep your head up!! 💯💯
this was the most wholesome and relatable video I’ve watched in a while
Without a doubt, the best short you made…
So, when are we getting the next two days of your workout routine?
pretty sure he already dropped them if you’re talking about his split just some are shorts and some are vids
Yeah still waiting for them
This is so relatable! I'm 14 and have been lifting for around about 2 1/2 years now. Just wanted to say that your physique is amazing and definitely something I would aspire to in the future. Peace!
W bro, I'm 14 and been lifting for almost a year, any advice?

@@KingE34 I am 13 and I can confirm , it worked and I have so much muscle mass now. My dealer is also such a nice person.
@@Isxiahprodfl you joking, right?
is no one gonna talk abt the dude itching his ass at 1:07 💀🤣
💀
I can relate, I’m pretty sure I’m in stage 5. The bad thing is I get compliments on my muscles ,but I still feel small and only take gym photos 30 seconds after I do a set till failure.😅
Keep doing these videos max 💪❤️
bruh i love the sound effects of your videos
Mate just for this you deserve a follow
Im so glad people like this and renaissance periodization exists. Cause as begginer i think i stasrted training pretty good and im excited for the future :)
This video is a work of art!
this video may be 6 months old but i always tell people to come to your channel for everything you need for the gym. Love your content, been following a while. hope al is well. your friend - john
stage 11. i have escaped the fitness matrix. learned the jobs of every muscle in the body. trained them the way they are supposed to be trained to make me a better athlete. i love leon edwards.
This is scarily relatable and idk if i like how close to home it got
This is too relatable
This video was so real man. Easy for an outsider looking in to think you're have it together all the time but for most people it's just unrealistic. Especially today.
This is way too real. 🤣 max you legend
I can’t wait for stage 10. That is the true goal in life
Very entertaining video … keep going 💪🏻
You sir, never fails to make me laugh
We love u max keep it up ❤your inspiration 🎉
I have some elements if stage 1 and stage 2 can't wait for stage 9 :)
Stage 9 looks damn good, also good vibes 😊
How relatable, funny, and informative at the same time..
awesome video!
Love the videos man, I also spoon feed myself peanut butter in the night its not that appetizing lol
the hardest choices require the strongest wills
Here we come realistic process :) tnx Max
Looking good Max
bro, i wasn't prepare for minute 1;59 i literally, i scream, that's MASS with a looooooooooooooooooooooooot of CLASS. inspiration, congratulations You reminded me of the glory days of bodybuilding, where it combined aesthetics with mass, both very important aspects. suscrito
Most truthful gym vid ever
I’m prob stage 8. Been cutting. Excited to see the gains of the bulk when I start in 2 months
WHY IS THIS SO DAMN ACCURATE
So proud of you🥲
Naruto morning music is the end. God I love this man!
I cant stop watching this I keep seeing the thumbnail and clicking on it
great vid bud
my guy never fails to give us tips and goofy aaa wholesomeness lmao
Took me 6 months to get 15 solid pushups!
You look great brother! Hope you recover fast.
Get striving bro 💪
@@Saladzyumm Yeah man 🔥
As an advanced newbie, I'm scared because knowing myself, I will definitely go through all these stages
The intensity over volume shit is so important 3 sets to absolute failure on a 7 day bro split doing mainly compound movements, with 3 sets of tricep french presses, bicep curls, and reverse curls is all you need the extra recovery is the most important 😎👍
stage 10 hits hard(ive been stuck on stage 10 since the last 4 months)
I have been training for about 4 months now but I feel like I'm almost at stage 10 because I learnt 90% of what I know about the gym from stage 10 you 😅
Spot on bro
Wow thanks for making me realize its time to go into stage 7
Stage 8 baby!!
Along with having a very impressive physique and the brains to match the brawn Max has the kind of smile that makes you smile and I think it's beautiful 😁
So glad i went from stage 1 to stage 10 so fast 🙂🙂
Best video on youtube
Getting into stage 3 I did my first squat session yesterday and recently discovered bicep veins😂
Do not panic im bulking is the most relatable statement in this video.
Crazy this was almost a year ago. He physique is astonishing.❤❤❤
Stage 2 here. I'm in for the ride
hey max pls can you make longer video thx u have a good one
As someone in the first stage. Thank you for your help
Long journey ahead man 🙌 glad you can join us!
@@MaxEuceda7 :)
Woah, this is way too accurate, are you stalking on me?
I always found it interesting to see the perspective of people starting their fitness journey on the small lean side vs some of us that start on the overweight side.
almost 4 years of lifting and ı approve all stages
Max has fucking insane forearms, he says he only does hammer curls for his forearms and I'd say doing heavy compound movements is how his forearms blew up the most I am sore in my forearms after heavy rows the day before which didn't happen with isolations
You’re so humble
Cultivating mass!less go
Currently at stage 4 and after watching this, I am definitely seeing myself disappointed in my low muscle gains in the future
this is amazing
Stage 10 was on point.
Damn bro, all these posters are hella fire. Naruto, Sasuke, JJK, Miles Morales 🔥🔥
bro i love your vids, they are so funny. I wish I could be a beef cake AND funny, unfortunately I've been stuck at advanced newbie for like 30 years. 💀
Glad to have found the "elegant man" on my first stage.
That dance is way to relatable 😂
That was fascinating
Hilarious sound effects 😂
Thank you haha
STAGE 3 BABYYYYY
2:08 "this is your last chance to look at me Hector"
I’m on stage 2. That bicep vein part was so trueee 😅😅😅
Unfortunately I’ve injured my lower back 2 weeks ago. I’m recovering but it’s severely limiting my training. I don’t wanna injure myself again 🤕
Happened to me 9 months ago, but I was in the SBD are the best exercises ever phase. Learned a lot from that, mainly that there are no mandatory exercises
i cant understand im 171cm 69kg, i can perform 17 strict form pull ups in a row i've been on a protein diet for 100 days i can se 4 of my6 abs (need to burn a little bit more fat) but i still dont have a bicep or forearm veins, does it have to do with genetics or i need more time?
@@Avarage_White_BryanProbably a number of factors. Body fat can hide them, some people are more veiny than others though, and can end up with different veins popping in different areas (like how some people have veins pop somewhere around their face/forehead)
The cut will be devious
Entertaining video 😂
Skipped the cut phase, straight to level 8. Luckily I've listened to enough excellent fitness influencers and lifters to know embracing the bulk for 3-5 years is the way to achieve greatness. Just trying to only gain 1 pound per month is the challenge. 😃
Stage 5 is so relatable af
Hey Max, love the video! Do you use periodized training, macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles? Are they useful for building muscle or laying out training programs more efficiently.
Cheers
What about motorcycles?
Today at exactly 4 months at age 15, I mentally feel great! My shoulders are broader and I look and feel bigger. I am no longer skinny but more lanky and strong/muscular. Wish me luck!
I just now made it to 7/8. Had to take a step back and readjust but everything is going up.
i love you max
