This is how I'll always remember Exeter's buses, especially the old green Devon General Mercedes-Benz 709D/Marshall minibuses with the horizontal taillights. When I was young I always thought that the services having letters instead of numbers was really sophisticated, almost like the subway lines in New York City. My usual services were the P in order to go to the dentist (I had a lot of tooth problems in my youth), and the A to Alphington in order to get to Salisburys. The most ambiguous though was the famous G to the historic Quay - ran four times per day and performed a journey that could be walked in around 10 minutes. I believe it's still running today and is still just as infrequent!
It's amazing this retro footage been keeping after 26 years. All business shop and restaurant are no longer on to this day. Burger King still opening and it still there on same spot and HMV has been moved to different spot in city square
