I am PC 1 student from jimma university. I wanted to say thank you for the great contribution you are doing.
These days the curriculum that we are using is so different from what you went through in the past. The curriculum has changed to modular so that We have more clinical exposure early in our pre-clerkship years. We also have what we call PBL(problem-based learning) which we are given clinical cases that help us to have integrated knowledge of the system we are dealing about.

Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to help others, I have one question, now that step 1 has become pass/fail or even before that, what can we realistically do to compete with those who have US clinical experience from within Ethiopia? Is it possible to really match without ever having been to the US?

preclinical not that much but your clinical grades and clerkships do matter.
