Jan Jensen introduced as next Iowa women's basketball coach

- After the sudden announcement of Lisa Bluder's retirement, Iowa promptly hired longtime associate head coach Jan Jensen to take over the program. Bluder took the Hawkeyes to new heights. With the help of generational talent Caitlin Clark, Iowa went to back-to-back national title games. She won more than 500 games, five Big Ten Tournament titles, and two regular season titles.
Jan is being introduced at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

@@anthonytaylor7928 you don't know much about women's BB. She is one of the most successful college coaches in history and was also head coach of the 2015 USA women's team. There would be few others with her resume.
@anthonytaylor7928 She has the most wins for Big Ten. A pretty stout resume, and she is available. There are several who qualify, but they are not available, nor do they have the history with CC.
@@StandUp777 the big ten is a weak women's bball conference that's why she has never won a national championship after all of these years look at all of the random teams that have won national championships in other conferences other than Tennessee and UConn .

Still surprised Coach Bluder retired in 2023 she signed an extended contract with Iowa thru 2029 with a big raise, huge bonuses for making playoffs, going to championship , now she just ups and retires.
Is she going to the WNBA?
I'm not surprised and I say good for her. She's coached 40 years and wants to enjoy some time with her family. Ride off into the sunset on top and give somebody else the reins.
Coach Jensen is Kate Martins aunt. It will be that much more special when Jan passes the torch to Kate.
