In my Opinion the Short box was a good buy,also excellent trading cards,but also superb Comic Haul including Avengers(1st series)#148(1975),also remarkable Fantastic Four comics (1st series) including Fantastic Four(1st series)# 200(1978 or 1979),also Incredible Avengers comics,also thanks for sharing CGL 👌 them coming stay healthy stay safe and have a happy Valentine's Day.☺💝

I did the same today, paid $300 for a full box of mostly Captain America's. Mostly newer comics but quite a few 1:25s and 1:50's covers with a bunch of Kirby covers plus Batman's and stuff like that. Did it to help a friend out who needed the money.

I would have been at $350 right with you on the box, but I also would have bit at $400 because she was willing to work so much on her end. Good buy. Though I'm not a fan of you saying "these are overpriced" in front of her instead of just saying these are higher than we pay.

I felt $400.OO was a little high but not a bad purchase overall. You did got some nice early FF books with Jack Kirby artwork. Those books in VG condition are worth between $20.00-50.00. I didn’t noticed any major keys but still good books to have for selling. I am glad you didn’t pay 650.00 for that box. I think does JK books will help you to get your return and the rest will be gravy. Good luck Chris! I wished I did work weekends! I am missing out on some decent comics!

I think the short box was a good buy, you can get more than what the person below said on eBay, I see these books going for $20 to $40 easily on eBay all day. You’ll make around $400 profit off the short box, don’t listen to these to the others that say it was a bad buy.
I think it was a good, but not great buy. Less than $300 would've been great. Thank you for the support! I agree, a lot of people aren't as up to date on some of these prices. I'd like to buy some books from them lol
Why do I always get the heebeejeebeez going through items at flea markets feeling like I'm flipping through someone's stolen property! Maybe it's because I was a cop for 20 years and busted many flea market fences. Ahh....self reflection.

Great silver age score!! Lol, that seller was a tough negotiator 🤨, you really had to work her down. $10 - $20 ea for most makes this deal a winner 👏👏
She wasn't a tough negotiator as much as she was a great seller. We were ready to walk away three times, but she kept pulling us in lol. I wish we could've gotten lower, but I'm happy with it.

I had a similar situation at a church flea market in the Bronx. Long box of silver age mixed in grades of VG+ to Fine+ . The deal was he would do $5 each but had to fill a short box . I think I got a great deal
Not bad as a box. End of the kirby run plus the romita fill ins plus start of buscema. Overall a good run covering an age worth collecting. Of course condition comes into it but the romira ones appeared in good shape and the last full kirby :-)
Hold onto those Dr Doom covers, some of them will spike once he’s introduced into the MCU.

Definitely a lot of nice comics in that batch. Condition is key to pricing and the condition looked very nice on those. A nice run on Fantastic Four. That was Klaw's 1st appearance as Klaw. He appeared in an earlier issue (53?) as Ulysses Klaw, but meh with that.
I would have paid more than $400 for that box of FF! Many, if not most, $30~$40 books there.

Congrats! I am going to do a Q&A in the near future. Check out my previous Q&A with my Dad and I. My advice is always buy what you like and buy quality. You can't go wrong.
Hey guys, Sub from me. This was a great pick-up negociation, the way I look at buying in bulk like this is, price out the top 10 comics, see what those are valued at, then divide the remaining cost by the rest of the comics, you'll find you got a pretty cheap deal on the average cost of the other 57. Thats just my way of thinking when I bundle, I weigh up the more expensive issues, and do a calc in my head :) Really Enjoyed the bartering... Greetings from Scotland :)

The middle character on FF 77 is Psycho man. And 56 is the second appearance of Klaw I believe.
Also 120 is sweet First Airwalker and one of my favorite FF covers.

That FF 56 is at least a 2.5 so that $30 bux price NOW for it and your oldest one in the box 1966, also its second appearence of Klaw BUT 1st appearence of him as the solid creature he is here I do believe.

You have the one in the 50s with Klaw #73 Daredevil Thor Spider-Man. #86. Dr.Doom #76 Silver Surfer #88 or #89. MOLEMAN.

Depending on the grades some of books are $30+ each.
Relax people. If that FF 49 alone is in decent shape you will have made your $ back. That book is and will continue to appreciate in value. Especially once we inevitably see the FF in the MCU and if Silver surfer shows up you’ll be good. I also saw quite a few other silver age and early Bronze Age FF in there. You’re good.

Short box was good but could have been better. You have some semi-keys with Air-walker and the Squadron Sinister in Avengers. Not bad, but remember that Fantastic Four is coming to the MCU and is bound to explode. Be patient.

😎🤔Okay BH here's my personal reason why I think you scored with those FF books , again my personal reason , most of those issues have ✌(2) of the best 😍Gingers in comics (I 💘😍Redheads!) , In this case Marvel Comics! My #1 Marvel costume cavorting Ginger being Medusa and her Inhuman cousin Crystal is high ,high at the top tier. ☝🤓 Okay , now that I unleashed my Valentine's Day cards on the table another reason you scored is because of the great 4 part story arc in issues #90-93 with The Thing captured by Skrulls and used as a gladiator in games of death , sound familiar? Planet Hulk series and the Thor:Ragnarok film reworking that Silver Age storyline. Now let's speculate 🤔 what differs this time about a FF film is that it's going to be an MCU production and already the anticipation is at a 🤒 fever pitch , due to the rumored casting of Krasinski as Reed Richards and the HIGH certainty of Dr Doom , The Silver Surfer and Galactus being brought faithfully to the screen! Ahh but there's also a group of villains that could appear on screen that might prove unexpectedly popular and that's The Frightful Four (of which my 😍Medusa was an original member) and you have some issues featuring them in your haul. One never knows what character (s) may be introduced and succeed beyond expectations , look at the FF character of Agatha Harkness who debut in WandaVision and gained popularity! You could be in the possession of near future key issues!

don't buy them...yes.,I know that there are many exceptions,however,women DO by records ,and there are many.
I wouldn't have bought that very little if no keys in that collection only worth maybe $100 maybe $50

All in all, I think the deal was good for the two of you and the seller. The earlier FF's with the Jack Kirby covers and interior art would've drawn me to look them over. FF #56 is the first appearance of Klaw in his "solid sound" body. The first appearance of Klaw is as Ulyssess Klaw, a human scientist with a prosthetic sonic device attached to his right wrist in FF #53. Klaw's back story is closely tied to Wakanda, T'Chaka, and T'Chala.

$125 TOPS for the box. As is, none of these lower grade books are worth slabbing, therefore (virtually without exception) they'll end up in the $1 or $2 or $3 boxes for resale. You'll be lucky if you recoup your money over the next 10 years. WORD
Those fantastic four books will fetch more than that, they were mostly 5.0 to 6.0 books.
I'd personally disagree with that. I think $125 for that box would be an absolute steal, less than $2 a book. But I know I can get more out of these.
I think $300 would've been a good price. There's not a book in this box that belongs in the $3 bin, and especially no the dollar bin; idk where you got that from.
No one buys those. comic shops filled and filled with the same fantastic fours wait until they have clearance sell buy for 50 cents to a $1
