Prolly my favorite Crowes album .. and, the track "My Morning Song" is my favorite, hands down, and saw them twice, but on the Southern Music Harmony Companion tour, at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford CT,,, they did that song live, and it just blew the doors off the building, that break down, and the build up..... It was also the first concert I ever went to where all attendees were metal detected, so I immediately dispose of my paraphernalia, was kind of bummed about that, immediately upon entering the venue discovered that the Black Crowes have their own line of rolling papers that they sold in the booth with the concert shirts and hats, and besides the grateful Dead it was the smokiest concert I have ever attended. 💨
Fun Fact : the 3rd smokiest concert, was Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power.... Very close 4th was Dave Matthews, 5th was Rusted Root. Prolly a few more that I may have forgotten ¿ 🤣
Black Crowes - sneakily one of the best 90s/00s bands, that were overshadowed by grunge era, and boy bands, and a new frontier of more mainstream rap. Soul full southern rock, straightforward, in your face good music. Too bad, heavy drugs, and some sibling issues, created some issues, later in their careers.

I love The Black Crowes. Their song "Wiser Time" is one of my favorite songs. The pedal steel intro is everything. The Robinson brothers had issues with one another. I thought that may be the reason they weren't as successful as they should have been. There is a video here of them covering Velvet Revolver's song "Oh Sweet Nuthin". It was filmed in 2013 and Rich is singing lead. Phenominal cover and well worth a listen.

I am married and older now, but, every-time I hear “She Talks to Angels” it takes me back to some wild times in my life and memories of a woman that was just always out of reach. She never let me get too close. I have no regrets, and she certainly had her issues, but, we danced for a few years until it was all too much for her. Sometimes it feels like the Crowes wrote that song about her.
Suicide is a hell of a thing. Lessons of guilt and pain. Alas, without that experience I would never have won over my wife and be the person I am today.
