I've lived within an hour from Annapolis all my life and I've never been able to explore what it has to offer. I'd love to learn sailing and do this. Bobby is living the dream. And I'm looking forward to getting to know Aly in future adventures on this channel.

This guy is an expert in sprinkling his videos with innuendos like this, and at the same time create the facade that this is about sailing, not a sex reality show. Since Ally is a lawyer and therefore not a dumb girl like the others before her, i wonder how far she will allow hersel& to be used by Bobby.

Trim all the way down for launch, and then, trim up until it starts bobbing, than come down a bit. It will get you faster on plain and give you best efficiency while on plain.

Another thought on the dingy winch.. I told you about what Rick Moore SSL did for his davit winch. Then I realize I have on my wildcat sport side by side a wren winch that would be perfect for your use. The cost was $350. It’s a 3000 pound pull with dineama rope. It’s very small and you can get a wireless remote for it.. check it out it will save you a ton of work..

I own a Highfield. Got a whale tail on the motor. Boat is a bit squirrely without it. Fixes stability and excessive bow rise. Hi Allie!

Aly, I also race but in Handicap races however, I do need an able-body sailor for the boat. If we do the small boat like sonars we have two handicapped sailors and one AB. For the larger boat, it's a three/one ratio basically.

That is a badass dingy for you Buddy. Use the trim to keep your nose down.
A good thing to add to a dingy is a tension stretcher device (do not remember the proper name for them) to the pull rope, that eases all the hard moves and jerrking caused by random sea and in return it makes it easier on the dingy to being pulled. We use that here in Norway for such things and for tie downs to the dock, but I have yet to see anything like it on the ship videos I watch here on youtube.

As you call it, a "planing fin, is not needed. Take the trim stops off and learn to use the power trim and you will have zero trouble getting on plane! Nice setup.
Welcome aboard Aly. Maybe you can teach Bobby a few sailing tricks from the racing world. People may forget that when he started Sailing Doodles he was a newbie. He's done well but I am sure there is still room teach an old dog new tricks.

Highfield makes a nice dinghy and competition in the market is great. However, all the major manufacturers have gone to aluminum hulled RIBs and fiberglass is rapidly fading out. Your model Highfield actually has a double floor whereas many of the lighter models on the market have a single floor and no decking non-skid. Obviously the trade off is weight and the necessity for a larger motor. Congratulations and enjoy. See you out there!

Nice dinghy. If you are towing set it up for dual painters. Probably get the multi-ton straps and put caribiners on them to quickly attach to the boat in two places. Trust me two are best, after having dinghys float away.

Nice Rib! Do your research on the dole fin. As you know a byproduct of lift is drag. On my kids old rib we mounted a jet ski AGM battery at the bow to increase wt forward worked great. If you need a 24 series battery Maybe swap battery location with gas tank. Food for thought? The guys at the hifield dealer have a good reputation I am sure they will have suggestions? Bobby im a professional fisherman. I think adding a fin will help, you could also switch the prop for a better hole shot that will help you bring the nose down or just adding some weight to the front end would also solve the issue. You will love the electric start and how quiet the 4 stroke motor is. I would've reccommended a Mercury 4stroke but we all have are favorites. I think you should get the dingy wrapped with you sailing doodles logo and sponsors. It would look really cool and promote your channel on a whole new level. Any questions ask away. My question was what's the top end speed?

Right on, the new season begins! I thought the goal of getting the new dingy included reducing the weight, yikes went up just about 100lbs! It's a beauty though! Hi Ally!
That dingy will be lot nicer no more engine tiller steering and looks lot more stable too. Than again I could also see this new one get out hand with larger motor hit some waves.

Great dingy, having 8 boats the under 20 foot ones always go bow up for the first 40 feet, my 32 ft did not. It just broke weekly. I gave that one away.
