    It sounds like a pretty solid review as there seems to be a push in the woods bike market. How about a test or comparison on the track? For all us retired MXers, I like to see how much I’m giving up by moving away from a track bike to the woods bike. I like the videos when you bring a hotshot in to strangle the guts out a bike.

    • @bobriley000444
      @bobriley000444 Před 3 lety

      with these new enduro bikes you're not giving up anything the only difference is suspension tuning and like 8 lbs of weight which just comes from the kick stand, headlight and extra wiring, most mx bikes now have elec. start so it's not like the battery weight is even a thing anymore cause they all have a battery

    • @motosporttouring
      @motosporttouring Před 2 lety

      I have a modded 2015 that I ride mostly at the track lately. I’m on the standard map, 51T rear sprocket, with Dunlop MX53’s since it’s hard pack where I ride. Just had the suspension set up for me and it made a big difference, but I do wish I had a YZ, or at least the suspension. My bike is plenty fast but I always wondered what that YZ suspension would be like. I’ve ditched the heavy duty hand guards, have the lithium battery, full FMF exhaust, and I run half a gallon less gas (1.6 gal like a YZ). That has saved some weight, but I’m still going to replace the heavy duty skid plate I have now with a plastic Cycra, and the headlight with a number plate. That’ll put me in YZ250FX weight range, decent for MX, but it’s still not 232 lbs.

    I have a 2018 WR450. And for anyone who is curious you will constantly be hitting the limits of the 250. Always shifting up to find there's nothing more. With the 450 you will never hit its limit. You will always be chasing the end with the end being out of sight. The 450 can be tame and ridden slow. But if you want to be aggressive you'll always be humbled by the power. The 250 will not give you the same satisfaction. You will out grow it no matter how old or experienced you are. There is just a lot more room for growth and the thrill of riding with the 450.

      Nice comment man, im constantly looking at reviews trying to compare the two lol I havent been on a bike for years and I have also had surgery on my cervical spine im leaning towards the 250 but im not sure. I know I wouldn't be a twit on the bike and would always respect the power of the thing, on the other hand I dont want to drop 15k on a bike wishing I had got a different one. Im just scared 450 might be to much bike lol aaaahhhhh its doing my brain in lol hahaha

      Depends on the riding you do. I own a 19 450fx and love it but my buddys 2020 250fx is hard to beat in the tighter trails. You dont have to be as cautious with the throttle

      Mainly just trail riding mate, pines bushland etc probs a bit on the sand and bitumen on the way to my destination. I think I'll go with the 450, I think I'll respect it a lot more and the 250 I'll end up pushing it to its limits where the 450 I'll be to scared to lol but all in all I'll be just putting around with but like knowing the power is there if I need it.

      Doubt you will hit the limits of the 250F if you ride tight technical trails, the 450 is a beast in the tights woods, now if you're talking open dessert riding, or open "trails" like these guys ride, and you're a bigger person, yeah, the 450 may cut it more..

    Sounds like it's rides and handles more like a motocross bike which is all they have ever been. The word extreme Enduro and wr should not be used in the same sentence, if you want a good Enduro bike you can't beat the new ktm

      My first Dirtbike was a WR. Over the years I realised that it’s not really a Enduro bike, just a softened Motocross Bike and heavy. I switched to Euro Bikes and never looked back to Yamaha. Nothing was better on the Yamaha is regards to Enduro. Only listening to this video makes me believe that nothing has really changed with the blue „Enduros“ (+ still cable clutch, which was already out of fashion in 2001 when I bought my WR)

      Extreme and 4T should not be used in the same sentence, same as extreme and quality suspension like the WR should not be used. easy to have soft bouncy wallowing at speed suspension for extreme Enduro . Stock wp KYB conversion kits for wp if you want a Aussie Enduro weapon like these bikes bog stock. They sell them kits like hot cakes.
