    This castle was most likely gorgeous back in the day. It is such a shame a lot of these castles have fallen into such disrepair. Thank you for the video.

      It would have definitely been very grand back in the day! It's always sad to see them in this state but they do make for some very interesting pictures and videos, they add a mystical element to them as well I think.

      @@psyonawilliams1755 You are absolutely right. There is definitely a mystical element to these castles.

    Lovely drone footage. I lived nearby in the 1980s and have watched the building deteriorate greatly since then. It’s actually called Dunalastair House, not Castle. It was built in the late 19th century and was the third property on the site, but it was a white elephant from the outset. It was expensive to build, maintain, staff and heat and although some damage had occurred, the property was de-roofed so that rates (local property tax) no longer had to be paid. It’s still owned by the estate but there simply isn’t the money to do anything with it.

      It's hard to find solid information surrounding the castle but some rough findings have been, an initial fire that destroyed part of the castle when it was a girl's school and then later vandals in the 60s stole all the lead from the roof.

    • @psyonawilliams1755
      @psyonawilliams1755  Před 2 lety

      The downside to it being in the middle of nowhere is that not many people know about it so will be unaware that it is in the state, but it is also a good thing as it remains untouched.

    • @Viothon
      @Viothon Před rokem

      I will try and keep this short, Scotland is mostly Marxist now, it has drunk the modern ideological poison that sees the past as something to destroy to make way for a new mankind. It values not God but the state, and not just any members of the state but the left-wing party of that state. Independence is seen as a dirty word for the very reason that it is nationalistic and that leads to many of the things I just stated need to be rejected now.

  • @easygamingwwiigamingchanne729

    It gives me great pleasure to see this former monument to mankind's greed and lust for power, now in such a state of devastation. Matthew 6:19-20 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal."
