Hi, In this tutorial we will be making a Media Player app using Windows Form Application, C# programming in Visual Studio. This app will allow you to open a folder and if there are video files such as MP4, AVI, MKV, WEBM or WMV files then it will simply load it into the application and play it using the Media Player component from Windows Form. It will keep a track of which video is playing and you can control the play list from a list box. You can change the videos and skip to the next one from there or the app will simply keep playing the video until it finished and restart again.

I suppose you can use for music as well. I thought it would be a fun experiment to work with video files, this is the result I've been using it for a bit now and it made life a lot easier.

Bro i wanna ask, the program worked, but when i choose a video, the video wont work .
It has this message “system.windows.form+listbox” and all my video cannot be played

Could you paste the whole error message? I’ll take a look

@@mooict The file you are attempting to play has an extension (.Listbox+ SelectedObjectCollection) that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavior.
I assume we encountered similar issues, do u know how to fix it?

the error of CS1752: Interop type: cannot be embedded. Use the applicable interface instead.

I could care less about the app, it's just an app. I seems like it is a .net standard app, but maybe not. However, I have yet to find a way around this interop problem, and it isn't mentioned once. I have tried using the "interface" method with no luck so far. Getting the media player to work in .net framework is easy. In .net standard not so much. If you have found a way, please let me know. I know that this video a a year old, but....

@kenkoch2843 i forgot how i solve this problem. I cant recall if it was because i was using .net core instead of the framework one. Nah, but i landed in a way i used the external media player instead of integrating it inside my app.

How would I be able to make the player alternate between folders? Would like to make a custom player that will play music with custom bumps in between.
