    Thank you so very much. Such a great review. Appreciate the time it took to make the video. I noticed on another review on these sort of appliances that a fireman recommend us not to leave these sort of things running overnight, fire hazard. 🥰 Have a lovely safe Christmas 🎄🎁.

    Well explained review Claire and good to know not to leave cover on when it’s off for the smell😬also can I just say how nice your hair looked in this made you look about 10 years younger showed off your glowing skin😊(I’m a hairdresser, so no matter whether it’s a haul, a review or a cleaning video I always notice the hair first and foremost )😂have a good week..

    I’ve just got one of these. And it’s ok… the cover is pretty critical. The basic problem is physics. Hot air rises so warm air accumulates in the area above the heated rail under the cover, but the further your items are below the rails the less drying will occur. If you keep your house cool, then it will take an age to dry and you will need to regularly move items around to try to get them dry. In my house the ambient temp is around 16c. After 5 hours the air under the cover at the top was up to 23c however the bottom on my clothes ( about 6inch above the floor)were still at the ambient air temp of 16c. I have a plan though :-) I’ve just ordered a small low powered fan. I hope to clip it under the cover to push that warm air down and hopefully get the warmth more distributed. Will see how it works out :-)

    • @harmansofearley
      @harmansofearley Před rokem +2

      @@asdfwerty3391 surprisingly well. The fan i got uses 3w on low which seems good enough to force the warm air down ( assuming.you have the blue cover on)

    We've had for a while, At first with the cover, didn't find it much good. But then I miss placed the Cover so I used a Blanket and a Bath Towel. Suddenly clothes where drying in 2-3 hours. Found the Cover, still put a Towel on, Dries in 2 hours now. Its key to give the clothes an extra spin in the washer. No rigging needed. The Bath towel draws the moist air out and holds it. The towel when done (switch it off) gets chucked over the dryer with the sides folded over and it's dry within 1 hour. So give it a Try, Put your clothes on it, cover with Bath Towel, then the cover.

    I’ve had one of these Aldi ones for years now. It’s only really useful if you can lay clothing flat so maybe you need to get a pair of jeans dry for the weekend with a day to spare and you don’t want to use the tumble dryer etc. I also use it to dry smalls quickly. Glad I bought it but not sure I’d invest again.

    Interesting review. I would like to use a heated air but I could only put it in the middle of my lounge really as when extended it wouldn’t fit anywhere else. Would prefer a taller one that takes up less floor space but don’t want to spend too much and not sure how effective the drying would be.
    Will be thinking about it.

      If you buy antibac liquid from Aldi (can't remember the brand) and use it instead of fabric conditioner you can dry clothes much more slowly without them smelling. The 'damp' smell is mildew building up, so if you stop that happening you can save buying a heated airer like this and also reduce the chance of excess moisture causing damp on the walls of your house

  • @francinejames4053

    I drape a sheet over mine and seems to dry quicker, mine didn't come with a cover either, small items I lay flat and seems to do the trick , I have a dehumidifier which I just place next to airer which surprisingly only uses about 130 watts power so still saving on power not using the dryer.

    • @PollyPutThePetalOn

    The reviews in general on them seem to be around 50-50, good and bad but for the price, £39.99, it's probably worth a punt so I'll definitely be seeing about getting one. I definitely wouldn't pay any more than that for one though, and there are some on Amazon near that price but others are in the hundreds of pounds, which is ridiculous. Thanks for your review.

    • @PollyPutThePetalOn
      @PollyPutThePetalOn  Před rokem

      It definitely gives off heat but I don't think it is enough to keep an entire room warm. I have quite a large living room so it wouldn't mine. When you go by it though you can feel the warmth. I have to say that I am enjoying having it, its especially good for all the items that need to be air dried ie jumpers, my daughters uniform etc.
