So Fun Fact: the music score for the first three movies was written and composed by John Williams (who is known for Star Wars). It is this reason that the movies use music exceptionally well to help the mood of any given scene.
@@jefferoni1984 Yeah, John Williams is one of the very few composers who has emotionally powerful music that's good enough to hold a scene without any kind of dialogue. This is one of the reasons Lucas really enjoys using him. He has a way of making his music "act" when establishing a scene. It conveys just as much as an actor could. Hans Zimmerman comes very close with his " Why So Serious" Joker Theme from dark Knight though. I get chills to this day whenever I hear that cello tuning up. lol. Oh and P.S. So one visual aspect about Harry (from the books) is that his normal clothes are ALL Dudley's hand-me-downs. He doesn't own a single piece of clothing that wasn't once Dudley's. Not until he gets his school uniform, and a few spares for casual wear while at school. It's a very small, minor detail, but it does a great job of establishing just how little the Dursley's actually care for him.

The first, let alone first two movies may seem a bit childish but not only do they get darker and more mature as the movies progress, but what's great about each movie and book is that they each have a mystery to them. Not only that, but as the movies and books continue, the mysteries of each of them begin to come full circle and that to me is what makes the series standout as a whole. I'll have you know I am a Hufflepuff myself and I guarantee you you're most loyal friend is more than likely a Hufflepuff themselves. We are the most loyal people out there we will do anything for our friends and family. Just because your whole family is in one house doesn't mean that you'll get put into that one house. You need to take the sorting quiz on Wizarding World AKA Pottermore in order to be determined in what house you would be in.
We have soft cookies in australia, so assume they do in the uk. But soft cookies are no good for dunking in tea/coffee. Also hard biscuits last a lot longer, so you can put them in a jar and forget about them and come back a month later and they are still perfectly fine.
Hello from the UK, very pleased that you're doing this series 😊 Don't worry, we're not missing out on chewy cookies, we have those too. Also, a fair amount of our classic biscuits have some sort of flavoured cream as part of them so you get the snap and a soft bit. We also frequently dip the biscuits in tea, which you couldn't do with a cookie very easily.
We do, we just differentiate between cookies and biscuits. Like a biscuit would be a hard thing like a digestive, or Rich Tea Biscuit. Something you, typically, dip in a coffee or something. Then you have cookies like double choc chip.
The book/film is called the Philosopher's Stone literally everywhere but in the US. It was changed by the US publisher, Scholastic, and J.K. Rowling because they thought American children wouldn't want to read a book with "philosopher" in the title, since it commonly refers to a scholar of philosophy rather than an alchemist or a wizard. Rowling has since said that she regrets having granted permission for the title change, but as a new author she wasn't in a strong enough position to fight it at the time (they even asked her to use the initials J.K. instead of her first name Joanne because apparently teenage boys would not want to read a book written by a woman). The Philosopher's Stone is an actual real-life legend; an alchemical substance of legend capable of turning base metals such as mercury into gold or silver. It is also called the elixir of life, used for achieving immortality. Additionally, Nicolas Flamel was a real person, an (alleged) alchemist believed to have created the stone. Fun fact: Each scene where the stone is mentioned in the films had to be shot twice, with "philosopher's" or "sorcerer's". The houses and what they represent: Gryffindor - Bravery, chivalry, honor, helping others, determination, recklessness, self-righteousness, short tempered and a desire to always be the hero. Someone who stands up for the little guy, challenges authority and has a tendency to act first & think later. Hufflepuff - Hard work, patience, loyalty, modesty, dedication, kindness and fairness. Someone who has a strong moral compass, is usually accepting of everyone and rarely starts arguments. (I am a proud Hufflepuff!) Ravenclaw - Intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, creativity, originality and wit. Someone who is academically motivated, logical, curious, eccentric, and accepting of people & things that others would consider 'weird'. Slytherin - Ambition, cleverness, cunningness, resourcefulness, pride and self-preservation. Someone who is always one step ahead, has a dark sense of humour, thinks reputation is important, doesn’t let anyone (or almost anyone) see their soft side and is possibly destined for greatness. While a lot of dark witches and wizards have been in Slytherin, not all of them are bad. I suggest taking the Sorting Hat Quiz on wizardingworld.com (formerly Pottermore). When they first started filming Daniel Radcliffe was 11, Rupert Grint was 12 and Emma Watson was 10. Chris Columbus wanted Daniel for the role of Harry since he saw him in BBC's production of David Copperfield, which he starred in with some of his future co-stars in Harry Potter, like Maggie Smith (McGonagall) and Zoë Wanamaker (Madame Hooch). J.K. Rowling approved and said they couldn't have found a better Harry. William Moseley, who was later cast as Peter Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia series, also auditioned for the role. Having seen an ad for open casting, Rupert sent in a video of himself rapping about how much he wanted the part of Ron, and was successful. Emma's Oxford theatre teacher passed her name on to the casting agents and she had to do over 5 interviews before she got the part of Hermione. Richard Harris only agreed to the part of Dumbledore after his 11 year old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again. Tom Felton originally auditioned for Harry and Ron before getting the part of Draco. Robin Williams and Rosie O'Donnell asked to play the roles of Molly Weasley and Rubeus Hagrid respectively, without pay, but were turned down because J.K. Rowling wanted only British and Irish actors in the films. Rowling hand picked Robbie Coltrane, Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman for their roles. John Cleese plays Nearly Headless Nick. And fun little details is when Neville is holding the remembrall which tells him he's forgotten something, he is not wearing his robes... because he forgot to put them on. When Harry's scar hurts first when he sees Snape, the back of Quirrell's head (Voldemort) is facing him. Snape looks at Quirrell and is obviously suspicious of him.
A fun fact about the scene when Snape is drilling Harry about flowers. Is if you look up those flowers in Victorian Flower Language, they basically translate to "I deeply regret the loss of Lilly"
The goblin at the desk is Warwick Davis, but Griphook( the goblin that shows them the vault) is Vern Troyer, Mini Me. Warwick does play Griphook later films because Troyer passed away. 😊
Glad you're taking this train! so excited for her to know the whole story it gets darker and darker as they grow up! 26:36 I'm a Gryffindor! 42:50 she was embarrassed to say she'd been crying, and afraid the teachers might alert her parents and they'd stop her from attending Hogwarts or something thinking she's been bullied; she was a nerd and really had no friends before them to tolerate her bossy personality. She was so grateful the boys came for her she tried to take all the blame herself.
@@terogates1 Thanks buddy 😊 yeah that's in short is what she did she was trying so hard to be acknowledged as a student and combined with her naturally bossy/leader personality she had no friends to tolerate her so she often felt bad and when Ron said that it upset her so much 💔 but was very grateful for them and wanted them to like her so she tried to take all the blame without telling the teachers she was crying because she's miserable, she'd feel embarrassed and they might alert her parents and she felt scared they would stop her from going to Hogwarts thinking she's been bullied or smth yk
Interesting question about the pictures. The frames themselves dont move, but the occupants inside can if they want. Since they are magically imbued with a kind of magic that makes them (in a way) alive, they can move in and out of neighboring frames.
Harry Potter will forever be one of the best movie series ever created, the growth in each movie is what sets it apart from the rest, it's literallt for any age group
the goblin that took them into the vaults (Griphook) was played by Vern Troyer. Warwick Davies played the goblin behind the counter as well as Prof. Flitwick
Warwick also played that initial Goblin they spoke to who asks if Harry has his key before they go to the vault with Verne's Griphook, which made his later appearance as Griphook slightly confusing for some.
Yes we do have soft chewy cookies, but they're usually produced in house by bakeries or the bakery section of a supermarket, and specifically labelled as cookies, rather than biscuits.
We have soft cookies, and they're called cookies and are about 3 -4 " dia. Tend to eat these when we fancy a little nibble / something to eat. Then we have biscuits that are hard tend to be smaller 2 - 3" diameter. Ten to have these when we are having a cup of tea or coffee.
One thing burned into my memory is when Malfoy says “Have it your way then” at the time Burger King was doing a commercial and they used that snippet and I always think of Burger King now when I see it 😂😂
2 things from the books I wish were in the movie (yes, there's more than 2)... 1) Fred and George throwing snowballs at the back or Professor Quirrell head. Just love the thought of Voldemort getting struck in the face by snowballs. 2) This movie makes it seem like Lily blocked Harry with her body. Which is great. But in the books you find out she was given the option to live if she just gave Harry up. Her refusal makes her sacrifice and her Love for Harry all the more powerful.

Good guess! Dumbledore's tool is called a deluminator.

Did Mrs. Movies approve of this? 🤣🤣🤣!! Mr. Movies your editing is getting crazier and crazier. You've been hanging around Puggaplillar too much.
We have soft cookies in australia, so assume they do in the uk. But soft cookies are no good for dunking in tea/coffee. Also hard biscuits last a lot longer, so you can put them in a jar and forget about them and come back a month later and they are still perfectly fine.
This was 2001!
Damn, I feel old af now
And to Mr Movies,
It's only Philosopher's Stone in the UK
It's Sorcerer's Stone in the US
So HAPPY y’all watching this !!!!!!!!!!! The best adventure from this channel 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

If we had magic abilities that kept us from doing physical tasks we'd all be lazy. 😂😂😂!!
So close. It's called a deluminator
We do, we just differentiate between cookies and biscuits. Like a biscuit would be a hard thing like a digestive, or Rich Tea Biscuit. Something you, typically, dip in a coffee or something. Then you have cookies like double choc chip.
Awesome reaction!!!! Im in Australia, and we have both hard & soft. Hard are called biscuits, & soft and chewey are called cookies 😊
THANK YOU for splitting this into two parts!!! The more content the better ❤
The houses and what they represent:
Gryffindor - Bravery, chivalry, honor, helping others, determination, recklessness, self-righteousness, short tempered and a desire to always be the hero.
(I am a proud Hufflepuff!)
Ravenclaw - Intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, creativity, originality and wit.
Mr. Movies: I'd probably stay...
Mrs. Movies: Yea, you do like lighthouses.
I love these guys 😆
A fun fact about the scene when Snape is drilling Harry about flowers. Is if you look up those flowers in Victorian Flower Language, they basically translate to "I deeply regret the loss of Lilly"
Hopefully the Mrs doesn't read the comments and sees spoilers like this.
Good way to explain what hermione tried to do, that kinda how I always took it as a non book viewer ( read goblet and deathly hallows)
@@terogates1
Thanks buddy 😊
yeah that's in short is what she did she was trying so hard to be acknowledged as a student and combined with her naturally bossy/leader personality she had no friends to tolerate her so she often felt bad and when Ron said that it upset her so much 💔 but was very grateful for them and wanted them to like her so she tried to take all the blame without telling the teachers she was crying because she's miserable, she'd feel embarrassed and they might alert her parents and she felt scared they would stop her from going to Hogwarts thinking she's been bullied or smth yk
Okay, let`s go!!! The Harry Potter journey awaits!!!
Warwick Davis also plays prof clinical and for some odd reason he looks different in every movie
The actor who plays Dudley Dursley became an amazing actor, who was great in The Queen's Gambit.
“Grip it tight and mount it” tahee hee 😂
We do have soft cookies but they have to bed bought freshly baked from a bakery to be soft.
The “he might throw you off a building” has me going ;)
the goblin that took them into the vaults (Griphook) was played by Vern Troyer.
Warwick Davies played the goblin behind the counter as well as Prof. Flitwick
“Just don’t stop in the middle…you’ll get lost in the in between.”
…New fear unlocked 😅
this is going to be a long and fantastic journey !! great reaction !
Griphook was played by Verne and voiced by Warwick for this film, he was played by Warwick in future films.
Warwick also played that initial Goblin they spoke to who asks if Harry has his key before they go to the vault with Verne's Griphook, which made his later appearance as Griphook slightly confusing for some.
You were so close. It’s not the delighter, but it is the deluminator
They're hard because they're for dunking in tea.
Yes we do have soft chewy cookies, but they're usually produced in house by bakeries or the bakery section of a supermarket, and specifically labelled as cookies, rather than biscuits.
You so need to read the books as they explain so much more, but I am happy to see you doing this series!
We've got soft cookies, but there's something special about a harder biscuit dipped in tea
I used to send my mother a thank you note on my birthday.
20:10 I take local trains every few months but the cool one was the shinkansen bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka.
Hahaha the editing is amazing 😂
so fun that you had your sorting hat too! I myself am a Ravenclaw! Have fun with the rest of the films!
How dare you insult Hufflepuff were amazing 💛🖤🦡🦡 Glad yall are reacting to the franchise💜💜
30:49
🤣🤣🤣!! Snape would definitely be correcting you here.
"Platform 31¼ or something" Well she's on the right track…
So stoked for this.
One thing burned into my memory is when Malfoy says “Have it your way then” at the time Burger King was doing a commercial and they used that snippet and I always think of Burger King now when I see it 😂😂
Philosopher's Stone, there is no legend of the "Sorcerer's Stone" - bloody Hollywood.
Harry's uncle Vernon is the manager of a company that makes drills called GRUNNINGS, (from the book.)
18:32
Mr.Movies wand 😂😂😂😂!!
I remember Mrs. Movie's solution to the ring, early on in LotR: Fellowship ... "Chuck it!" LOL ... very practical!
Looking forward to what she thinks of HP around #3 and beyond. The first 2 films can be a bit rough for adult audiences.
I love you both, but as a long-standing member of the house of HUFFLEPUFF I'm hurt. All we do is try to be kind and friendly and everyone thinks we're weak. NO, I DON'T THINK SO.
SAME. I DON'T LIKE THE HUFFLEPUFF SLANDER. :(
Its his mums sister. She was jealous of Lily going to Hogwarts.
The word “delighter” is actually so close to what it’s actually called. I’m kinda surprised you got so close.
