- Fox 5's entertainment reporter, Kevin McCarthy (@KevinMcCarthyTV), geeked out with HARRISON FORD, RYAN GOSLING, DENIS VILLENEUVE, DAVE BAUTISTA, ANA DE ARMAS, MACKENZIE DAVIS, SYLVIA HOEKS and ROBIN WRIGHT to talk about BLADE RUNNER 2049!
This is why news channels should hire film interviewers who have extensive knowledge on the film making process.
Interviewer cares about movies more than gossip bullshit. Beyond refreshing.
Denis: "Thanks for your enthusiasm."
Damn this interviewer is like one of those people who is super respectful and complements people up the ass.
This guy does some great interviews. Just in-depth and really likes to understand the filming making process.
The last thing Villenueve said to him was to thank him for his enthusiasm
One of the best things about Kevin is that (while he's always nerding out about the entire film) he always bases his questions off of the trailers, then lets the people he's interviewing know that he's talking about a scene thats already been shown so they don't have to worry about spoilers. It must make them feel so much more comfortable and it really shows in the tone of the interview. Kevin is the BEST. I'm literally so spoiled for other interviewers
the best interviewer I've seen in a long time! great job, Kevin! can't wait to see the movie
man watching Kevin interviewing people makes me even more excited for Blade Runner 2049 than all the trailers combined. It's so engaging.
Vincent Knight people that have seen the movie have said the movie is wayyyy better than the trailers and Denis and the marking team left stuff out of the marketing so the film can be a surprise.
"It's a movie. It doesn't matter"
Great quote. People seem to have trouble telling real life from fiction. It's important to know the difference
For people who love movies and filmmaking, Kevin is possibly the best interviewer you can find on CZcams. I learned so much from watching this!!
Great interviewer!
And Robin Wright... Ageless beauty. Incredibly talented too
Denis makes movies like A BOSS.
I get the feeling he is a MASSIVE FILM-MAKING FAN.
Dave Batista loves wearing that hat, i think that's his trademark headgear
Really engaging interviewer. Both knowledgeable and enthusiastic and asks some really interesting and clearly well thought out questions.
I agreed with Harrison, to a degree, it DOESN'T matter, like Wolverines backstory, we love them because they are a mystery, we want to know but it compels us as we do NOT know.
This interviewer is great. So much better and more engaging than all the other blade runner interviews i've watched
So excited to see this
Good questions. Good answers. Good interview.
Kevin we need to see you in the Schmoedown!
Djordje Petrovic and movie fights
George Agreed 👍
Hell yeah
Djordje Petrovic OMFG YES!!! BIG TIME
For sure. He needs to be a part of the Screen Junkies, Schmoes circle. He needs a youtube channel too and maybe even podcast. Love the guys energy.
This is one of the best film interviewers I’ve seen. He asked great questions which engaged the cast and seemed genuinely interested in the film.
"I am curious though"
Thank god it lived up to the hype. Thank you Denis and the cast! To get close the first one is an incredible effort, saw it today and was blown away.
Best interviewer in the business. The questions are thought provoking and well formed and thoughtful. Thanks for kicking ass, Kevin.
Gosh such a joy to listen such a prolific interview. You can see immediately the genuine interest and excitement for the industry. And that transfers to the audience right away! I'm driven when I see smn is passionate a lot about Smth, it's sexy! Hehe plus interviewer is so handsome as well. Anyways, we get less and less an actual smart, intelligent, contextual interviews nowadays (where the interviewer is actually interested in people in front of him or her, and not just to get it done, and check the box) what a joy! I haven't even watched that movie, but I got excited about it after watching this .. interview or more a passionate , enthusiastic conversation. Thank you!
eXCELLENT interviewer. Wasn´t expecting much of the movie, but was surprised to really like it.
Yeah amazing movie and gets better on rewatches
Great interview! The best one so far.
Absolutely love this guys interviews. You can tell me loves these films and has a genuine passion.
These two are a serious threat to the Ryan Reynolds/Jake Gyllenhall media scrum phenomenon! Can't wait to see this
It really seems like he's already seen the film. ? And he's blown away by the score ... !! YES
He already did. Studio's do a press screening for journalist ahead of films premiere date
Thank you for your enthusiasm !
"thank you for your enthusiasm."
Denis must be great to work with
I didn't know this interviewer, he's my new hero
The best interview ever...
this interviewer is always so adorably awkward and goofy. like an over excited fanboy.
well he is a fanboy.lol
thats why we love him!!!
Steven Angel a good fanboy
I would with Sylvia Hoeks across from me...
It's insanely fake and it's kinda disgusting how he keeps kissing ass with his questions
Harrison Ford cracks me up, "No, I was 100% sure and I pursued my understanding" lmao
Man i'm so proud of Jared thanks Denis, can't wait to see this movie!!
Harrison Ford being nice in an interview???? Wow!!!
I thought this film was a masterpiece! I can’t wait to see what I notice in a third viewing. It’s been along time since I wanted to watch a film in repeat viewings because of the level of detail. Great job from everyone involved!
With all due respect to actors and film makers z but I definitely have got a crush on that interviewer ! Damn. So handsome, passionate and smart.
P s I know .. he is married. What a 'surprise'
2:02 *Harrison Ford: all functions shut down*
This man really brings the best out of the people he interviews.
Lmao at the director making sounds.. that made me laugh.
Mackenzie Davis is in this too? This movie is destined to be amazing.
Harrison ormai puoi.divertirti e fare l'ironico, puoi permetterti di tutto tu ormai sei arrivato non devi piu dimoszrare nulla sei stato grande,e puoi vivere sugli allori.
Two questions in and this interviewer is great.
Kevin is the only good thing about Fox News
Robin Wright, 52 years old , wow , so beautiful.
If sylvia hoeks does not get an Oscar nom, im gonna be pissed.
'Ana de Armas' - Gracias México!!! :) Lovely !
Marco Camargo she's Cuban
The interviewer is very good, he doesnt act like a dick butting into the actors, also nice to see Harrison fairly happy here, hes seemed pleased and at ease throughout all the promotional stuff surrounding Blade Runner 2049, so he must be pleased hes been given a solid great role to play again now. TFA his role playing Han he could have done with his eyes closed, he even actually looked bored in that movie at some point, maybe that accident didnt help either.
I got a good feeling about this sequel, that it isnt just all action, weak story and looks just like the original. It feels like Villeneuve has truly brought the substance and continued the story.
Oh I luv it, its a working masterpiece in my view. The director did everything I was hoping for and more with this film. Its alot like the original tbh, but not a copy-cat movie (like so many sequels are).
What I like most about this film is purely how long it drags out alot of it's scenes. Many are complaining that its too long, and even boring for this, or makes it predictable but I see it as the scenes are drawn out, to encourage the viewer to look at the film in different aspects. Our ability to empathize with the main character K, depends on which way we are seeing his character. Is he a replicant that has found his humanity, or was he simply a tool, a replicant purposefully placed in such a position, to act as a kind of unknowing decoy. A replicant who has no feelings and he realizes the truth at the end and thats why he lay there on those steps, instead of getting medical treatment.
There are just different ways of looking at the film, could K and that girl in the quarantined room be siblings? The coding he was reading showed a match for both male and female, and she did shed a tear when she viewed his memory, as if she knew the truth. It is a beautifully ambiguous film.
I'll definitely buy this on blur-ray and watch in alongside Bladerunner, I just hope they dont churn out loads of different versions of the film again. What did you think of it?
Always my favourite interviewer, need him on Collider.
Ben Williams That would be cool
great interviewer
TF? I didn't know Robin Wright was in this movie lol.
I get the feeling that the interviewer was *CURIOUS* 😂
Movie of the Year!
I don't care about the post show interviews, what matters is if the film itself works.
And it does, almost as good as the original. I'm only concerned with the film release fiasco that happened with the original won't happen with this theatrical release.
Certainly for me the best film on 2017 as shown.
id rather have great questions than great answers...
wicked response
take a shot every time you hear "sir ridley scott"
“I’m just curious”
number 1 fan is here...
Can't wait to see 2053.
Is he a Roger Deakins fan?
It's hard not to be
Deckard as a human makes more sense and more interesting colors to the movie. 2 replicants kissing and sex...who cares right? But a human and replicant (Rachel) makes it awkward and adds depth. Saw 2049...absolutly THE most stunning film ever made (after Blade Runner of course) You MUST see it in Imax. The sound rattles your heart, bones and soul.
Greg Cobb Deakins definitely hit it way out of the park.
Agreed. I think the original question about Deckard is a replicant or not is just to raise the question about the humanity itself.
saw the movie today its a 100% hit bring on the blu-ray
When is the embargo date ?
yugioh887 I think its a Force Awakens situation. LA premiere isn't until the week of release. Keeping it under wraps.
Thx !
my advice - go in completely clean and avoid even spoiler free reviews.
After watching 2049 a bunch of times, I want to see the "4 hour cut".
Being True to Director vision is important especially as it's better than what you think as a man of little vision
What do you notice about Harrison between 2 min 01 seconds and 2min 30 ?
"I'm just curious"
The casting for this movie is fucking spot on
Harrison Ford sits thinking ''It's just a fucking film.....let me get back to my multi million dollar ranch'
what an awesome interviewer, I wonder if he likes Roger Deacons?
Each actor pronounces "Dennis Villaneuve" in a a different way. LOL
10:45 The reason Sapper has such small glasses is because they were scavenged. He can't go to the eye doctor. Serial numbers on his eyes.
4:28
Harrison has barely changed since the early 2000s. I'm a girl, but I hope I look that good when I'm 75 :D
Thanks Harrison the movie fucked me up, your right it’s just a movie I need to sink that into my head
Robin Wright almost looks the same, since her days on Santa Barbara.
Kevin is always great and I have no idea why people give out about an interviewer who asks actual questions about films and the filmmaking behind it than gossip questions.Yet people give out about him being a geek which isn't even put on since he is actually like this on twitter. Its better to have an optimistic knowledgeable film lover/interviewer than fake disrespectful lickarse reviewer who cares fuck all about the film. Kevin, Mantz, Alicia, Jake Hamilton and Grae Drake are by far the best interviewers
Ford's damn right. The whole Deckard as a replicant is dumb.
Rigsby 1 but he is
Now try actually watching the movie.
Though she had a rather small on set contribution, Doing voice over and reference for Lightstage digial capturing, You guys shouldve interviewed Sean Young as well. Sean Young is so pivotal to BladeRunner, as well as the story of 2049 NOT TO MENTION, in the very context of BladeRunner, The REAL ACTRESS WAS INDEED REPLICATED in 3D as a digital actress for the film. and yet.. somehow.. everyone has not interviewed her nore acknowleged this very significant real life fact. Sean Youngs actual Digital Replication.
Nah, I like the original theatrical.
"WITH THE VOICE OVERS."
THE STORY IS EVERYTHING fuckin Aaye
10:25 "thanks for your enthusiasm".
"Well, I'm a massive filmmaking fan and..."
A sequel IS a continuation.
I’m just curious”
Harrison is a Replicant
5:16 I want that bible... That will become my actual bible
I was just curious.
ZIMMER ? ZIMMER ? no, from a barn in iceland it is Jóhann Jóhannson
Johann is not involved with the film any more. It is Zimmer and Wallfisch.
They cut all his music out
I'm just curious.
Deckard will probably be human. Literally only Ridley insists he's a replicant.
he seems to like Ryan more then he like josh hotnet lol
how is the movie ??
MM 1992 he's prob embargoed
But.. he referred to the movie as a "masterpiece", so he probably didn't hate it haha
I thought he called drive a masterpiece
hmm I thought at the end of interviewing the women (Ana, Mackenzie and Sylvia) he said "Thanks for participating in this masterpiece" or something like that.. or didn't he haha
People on Twitter are calling it a masterpiece..Oscar worthy, etc.
Wright convinced me so much of Claire Underwood that I just don't trust a single word she's saying anymore.
Kevin McCarthy can fanboy without being awkward and annoying
Joi :(
Dominic Decoco I hope you're satisfied with our product :)
The bad woman character, leftest actress, could so easily have played evil-Ariel in a live action Little Mermaid.
This interviewer is entirely too CURIOUS.
We are just not used to coz most of interviewers ask same questions over and over , and aren't that engaged or involved. You can see right away the genuine passion for the industry and an actual knowledge , and use the limited interview time that efficiently !
