    I appreciate how Bale Organa conceited that Ahsoka just wasn't in the right head space to help him at the time despite him needing it and left her alone until she was ready. It's not that her father couldn't watch Ahsoka while Mom hunted, it's that Mom was taking baby Ahsoka out to experience her first hunt. The elder asked if it had already been a year, implying that all one year olds were expected to do this.

    • @lellopesce

      That is what I suspected. Though if Ashoka was a boy, would the father be the one taking him out for the first hunt. Somehow though, I think mothers would be the ones, for both genders. I remember my first time going with my uncle hunting, when I was a little kid back in the early '60s. In the end, to me, it was food on the table.

    Everyone made the Order 66 connection, but I just thought of the time she gets captured and later hunted by the Trandoshans. When Ahsoka makes it back to the temple she tells Anakin that she only survived because of his training. Other Padawans didn't make it back, but she did, because he pushed her harder and further than anyone else. I also really love the parallel of her defeating the Inquisitor in 3 moves, the same way Old Ben beat Maul, showing how she picked up several qualities from him. If they made a Season 2, I'd want to see a set Post Order 66 story about Barriss or Ventress.
    Edit: This comment aged like fine wine, as we've seen Ventress in Bad Batch, and now Barriss will appear in 'Tales of the Empire'.

    I get why some people are upset that Filoni "retcons" certain things, but honestly, you can't tell the entire story of Raada and Ahsoka's involvement in one 15-ish-minute short. They did a good job telling an abridged version while still maintaining the core spirit of the novel. I've never read the stuff about Kanan/Caleb so I can't speak to that, but unless someone has a link showing otherwise, I bet E.K. Johnston does not mind what Filoni (who I believe also advised E.K. on Ahsoka) did with Episode 6.

    7:27 I think that tiger/cat-creature is called an Akul (Not sure how to spell that, correctly), which is supposed to be one of the only real predators for Togruta on Shili (Their Homeworld). Ahsoka was real lucky to survive one like that at her age in time.

    I do hope the Ahsoka novel is still canon, but it did feel like episode 6 here was trying to retell that story in a way that makes it seem impossible for the two to coexist. I do hope people still read it if they haven't so that they can experience this story in its entirety and with much more character development.

      I consider it an abridged version. Besides, in the novel 66 happened on Mandalore and Rex already had his chip removed. So TCW already screwed the Bantha. I distinctly remember all these execs and showrunners unapologetically deleting the EU with the excuse of keeping ONE complete story with NO changes and here we are questioning what we are seeing is the real story. For that crime alone, KK and the other conspirators (including Dave) should be tossed into the Deathstar"s reactor core.

    The mystic element in "Life and Death" was beautiful. Yea! "Practice Makes Perfect" and "Resolve" were just layers of meaning to me, plus what it adds to the characters, and it was as poetic as it can get. Instantly realized they were taking pages of E.K. Johnston novel and I like the episode adaptation but, the novel is a great story with depth and details, that makes it superior for me, but you can't discard animation at all. Also hearing the criticism, I get where some people are coming from in terms of the novel/comics "canon" discussion.

    I'm trying to remember some of the early chapters... did Ahsoka visit other small towns before she ends up in the town from the novel? I think that especially since we don't see Ahsoka with her lightsabers, this could have happened fully before the events of the novel! And although this short shows us the birth of as Ahsoka as Fulcrum, she still has a lot of her own journey to do before that roll takes its full shape.

    • @rezkel7404
      @rezkel7404 Před rokem

      Ahsoka did wander a bit, specifically she leaves a family with a force sensitive child getting the Inquisitors snooping around to follow her off planet. As for if this is just another place I don't think so, on the one hand Ahsoka does have two white sabers so it's probable that she met and ended two Inquisitors but the story of Tales follows the book beats so perfectly it seems unlikely to be a different story. I would also say it doesn't replace the book as again it's the same story, you can just say the book is a more detailed version of events.

    Episode 5 explains how Ahsoka survived and held out long enough to help Rex remove his chip.
    The first time seeing it you just think she's some Mary Sue with god-level plot armor, but this really helps to explain it in canon. Dave Feloni, well done!

    Oh shit, having you guys mention Ventress, what if they could tell the story of Ventress and Quinlan Vos through this? Or the other stories from the unfinished episodes of Clone Wars like Boba and Cad Bane, just shorten them a bit (though I want them to do full episodes). But yeah, I also want them to expand more with this, like you don't need to stay within the Clone Wars/Galactic Republic era. Since we're starting High Republic era, maybe could do some stuff with that or even go as far something with Luke, in CW animation, after Return of the Jedi. Like maybe Luke exploring and learning more about the Jedi of the past and having him grow more into a Jedi Master similar to his EU counterpart. I'm just excited to see more. Now I also want another show like this but of the Sith. It could be called "Sith Legends" cause, ya know, Darth Plagueis "it's not a story the jedi would tell you. It's a Sith Legend". And like, you could use that to show us Darth Bane coming up with the Rule of 2, show us some Sith infighting and stuff. Hell, they already had Hamill voice Darth Bane in season 6, have him do it again.
    Also, just gotta mention how this is the first Inquisitor we see in CW animation and he looked so good. Sucks he died so quickly but its Ahsoka he went up against. Still, easily my favorite Inquisitor design.
