Here's one of the ways that I create settings for smaller stones. If I don't want to go through the hassle of making a prong setting or I want something a little more sturdy, this is the design I often turn to.
What are we waiting for? Let's get started!
Materials You'll Need:
(x1) 5-8mm Cabochon or Faceted stone
(x1) Segment of 18 Gauge, Dead Soft Wire
28 Gauge weaving wire
Tools You'll Need:
Chain Nose
Flush Cutters
Hammer
Anvil
(Optional) Dowel, pencil, bail making pliers

The plier set that I use:

Xuron Needle-Nose Pliers:

This is a great alternative. I still can't master prong settings. I can do other settings but this is a very nice option.
I'm so glad to hear it! I struggled with prong settings for along time and this is definitely a nice alternative. ;)

Outstanding 👏😍
Thanks! 🤗
This is a beautiful setting. Are you able to please design a ring with this type of simple setting and a simple band to really showcase a gemstone? ❤
Thanks! I sure can try! 😉
This is great, I love it! Thank you so much for sharing ❤

You're welcome! Glad that you found it helpful!
This is such a gorgeous piece of art!!♡♡
Thanks so much!!
Thank you for the video. This is a good idea. This way , working with very small stones seems feasible. How could one make a pendant with this technique?
You're welcome! Glad you liked the tutorial! :) Most of the time, I weave into the piece or wrap the ends into the piece to create accents. If you were wanting to make a pendant out of just the one stone, you'll just have to let your creativity run with it because I've never tried it before! :)
@@ellieshandcrafted ok. Thank you. 😎
Thanks so much for sharing your small stone setting technique!
May I ask if you have a paid tutorial available for the bracelet you used the stone on? Thank you
Thanks! I don’t have one at this time..
