The last color film made by Hitler's Nazi regime. Heard about this in a documentary on WW2.

Yes, it was made, but the nazis didnt allow to show it. So it was never published during the nazi time. They disliked what a picture of a german sailor is painted in this movie. Goebbels:"A german marine member /sailor doesnt drink."

Goebbels wanted the film to be a homage to German folk music.
In the finished film, Hans Albers just sings a few sentences from folk songs while completely drunk.
This should be understood as a criticism of the nationalism of the Nazis.
