- My factory turbo wastegates were shot (major shaft play), and I thought i might as well get stage1 turbos from pure turbo. They were very helpful and informative, so far very happy with the purchase. They also provide better wastegates vs stock, make sure they send you units with updated wastegates. Heres a step by step on removal and replacement, parts list used (its been a month since install and my amazon crush washers hold up đŻ lol). I replaced factory plastic coolant T with a brass one, and used silicone 2.75â hoses for intercooler to turbo in place of factory rubber ones.
Overall install was easier than i thought, realistically its a full day job , make sure everything torqued to spec and double check everything, otherwise not bad of a job at all.
These turbos offer more solid pull throughout the rpm range, drivability is very close to stock, i am very happy with these amd definitely would recommend for the money. Car will adapt to the turbos, but you can retune as well if the need arises.

Does it look like there's enough room for a 3" elbow to a 3" pipe in place of the factory intake boot? I have a set of new oem s63 turbos I want to machine the outside of the intake on the compressor housing to fit a 2.75" x 3.00" elbow on and use a 3" 45 degree carbon fiber pipe to goto the air filter housing using a 3" x 3.25" coupling

What's size crush washer did you use from the Amazon kit for the oil feed line? Also where did you get the intake silicone couplers and size?
I used variety pack from amazon, one of them fit well. Silicone is think i got it from intake couplers or silicone couplers.com sprry its been a while, i donât remember exactly, it was 2.75 dia 3 inch if I remember correctly, but not 100% sure sorry

why didn't you wrap the downpipes?
They have high temp coating already, no need to wrap over it
stock clutch and engine ok with the pure stage 1?
Yes, stage 1 improves the flow throughout the rpm band thats all
Even tho the wastegate actuator arms were loose on stock turbos youâre still able to use them on the pureâs? Iâve been looking everywhere for a new set and canât find them. Are they able to be tightened?
Wastegates were loose, not the actual vacuum actuator. The bushing that the wastegate slides in was wore pretty bad, the actuator hole had a very minor wear, otherwise everything was working well and functioning as intended with the new turbos

@@BullyM6 make sure pure sends you turbos with updated wastegates. They didnât on the first set they sent me

@@BullyM6 they supposed to do it, but mustve missed it somehow during rebuild process. Their slop was at least as bad as what my stock turbo had or even worse. But they handled the situation correctly

How does the car perform with these Stage 1 turbos? Did it make a difference overall?
More linear/consistent pull throughout rpm range, feels solid. I cant say difference is insane but definitely feels solid
@@Dentprotony Nice! Good to know. Custom tune or just ots? I just sent mine in to have them converted to the Stage 1. The wastegates were rattling and hopefully they send it back with some new actuators.
@@ericbilt25 make sure they replace the wastegates (forgot on mine on first try), i run bpm stage 1 tune
@@Dentprotony Glad to know youâre on a stage 1 flash. You donât get overboost with the catless dpâs? Iâm currently on the stage 1 flash, but havenât ran it yet with the turbos or catless dpâs.
