This fits almost too well in to the St Anger sound. Sounds like a legit cutting room floor mix.
Well (uHm aKcHuAlLy) the All Nightmare Long riff was originally written during the making of St. Anger. It was slower and (of course) tuned lower. The demo track for All Nightmare Long, called "Flamingo", was paced similarly to how it was originally written.
the bridge tremolo riff is from 2006 ish
@@Sean-Ax also some parts we're in a song of the presidio album (an unreleased album from Metallica recorded in 1999-2001/02 if i can remember well XD), and the song is called Shadows Of The Crosses or something like that XD
@@germangonzalocastroPhantomLord wait how was that comment written a year ago?! I feel like I wrote it yesterday. lol
Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't mention that one.
The St. ANGER guitar tone is SO FUCKING HEAVY !!!!!!!!!!!
Ohh, feeling that Groove .....
Somehow it sounds so redundant and prominent from the 90'es and beginning of the 2000's Era of Video Games.
It could fit inside on a great adveture shooting game or even with a good racing game would fitting like a charm.
Flatout 2, MX Unleashed, Burnout Takedown... all the goldies
Harvester of sorrow on black album would be sick
Fr tho
One, two! Nightmare is one of my all time fav Metallica songs (been my ringtone since 2008 lol). Criminally underrated. Really digging this version you cooked up. Keep 'em coming!
I agree. It's such a good song!
But not underrated song
Holy shit! The heavy and loud St. Anger tone meeting the thrash tone of Death Magnetic makes for one heavy ass track. This is menacing
I feel this should be on that album. The anger and rage are on display wonderfully here. I can absolutely see Metallica doing this in the studio just having fun with it. Well done
Well, the song comes from pre St.anger era, Presidio really (The shadow on the cross riff evolved in Nightmare) thats why sounds similar
Amazing. I just don't hear enough garbage can lid in that snare for my liking. Killing it as always my man
This song always was the culmination of thrash Metallica. Cool to see it go fully St. Anger.
You should do the shortest straw with the black album drums.
Y’know, it occurs to me that without the downtuning or the distortion, this song would essentially be surf rock (surf metal?).
On acoustic its blues
That’s pretty what thrash metal and black metal sound like without distortion. They both use minor pentatonic scales.
Labels labels labels..
The snare is earpiercing enough. Love it.
You deserve more praise for your work... very nice 👍
maybe two thumbs up would have proven your point better Darkarck!
@@tibor820 I only have one hand 👌
@@thevileviolet8946 okay, what about smileys?
anyway. you were funnier.
Awesome work SOM!
Appreciate
Thanks!
I NEED THIS SNARE SAMPLE
Absolutely brilliant! Well done good sir!!! I was very much expecting the verse to go in the st anger (song) direction with a clean lick. I loved it very much and as I said before I'm pretty sure this song really suits that album in my opinion 🤘❤️
Gooooooodzaamm 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Impeccable!
amazing work
I love this shit! 🤟 keep it Up, Cal!
This is really well done. Good job. It's better than the entire St Anger album. I call the tone for the St Anger album Metallica in a beer can.
Play it on 1.25 speed
The World is asking you the intire Kill Em' All on St Anger style please
"Needs more Cowbell"
GOOD JOB!!!! \mmmmmmmmm/
Oh lord, what have you done?
Also must ask when mixing the drums for "what ifs" on st anger do you struggle to force yourself to try and match the album snare cause it would sound very different with just that one change I'm sure 🤘
I’m telling you, add some solos and tone the snare back just a bit, and St Anger would be a beloved album.
The snare is the least of St. Anger's problems. The songwriting sucks, the production sucks, the vocals suck - everything about that album is AIDS. The snare isn't the issue
No.
@@ARG0Tyour comment is why the world didn't deserve something as honest as St Anger and why Metallica went away with creativity to make their generic albums following (which btw "fix" everything you listed but still doesnt satisfy you)
@@iplyrunescape305 Soy-ridden comment, but the profile pic says enough. Way heavier and way more honest metal out there that doesn't suck complete ass, but I get it if you're 14
Is it weird to say I like this version over the original!!! You absolutely killed it mate!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
How about what if "I Disappear" was on the Black Album?
Better the anything on the official album! And im a fan if stanger
No shadows of the cross riffs.. upset 😢
What if Harvester of Sorrow was on The Black Album.
That song already pretty much sounds like it belongs on the black album… what more can someone do to that song structure wise lol
Great tune, how about lepper messiah on st.anger?
What if Battery was on St anger??
what about cyanide on st anger??
plz do Sad But True on Master of Puppets, so we can see what it was gonna be
Some of the riffs remind of Nickelback... lol, still good job!
Shadows of the Cross
BRUHHHHHHHH
Huh?
Any re-work song coming up soon?
Dibbadung.
I know that I'm asking too much but : If all St.Anger songs have a solo and a drum fixed ?
What if NSYNC Bye Bye Bye was on Live at Folsom Prison
Dude hands down you're the next James Hetfield awesome work my friend
Can anybody else hear "Trapped Under Ice" on 2:33?
Yeah, it’s the Same power chords, played different and a lower tuning. I didn’t even realize the similarities until I saw your comment lol
Are you a dude from an another dimension?
as per usual
this dude still doesn't know the word "Failure" Because he has no idea how to do that :)
proof that it was the songs on st anger that made it suck, not the mixing.
Doesn't suck.
